Anyone ever randomly help or were helped by a player you don't kno

As a level 505, I have helped a large amount of players from both Xbox 360 and Xbox One (I'm not one for going up behind someone's back and knifing/shooting them after helping out for a good deed or two) just last week for example, I helped out two lower ranks with a Club Contracts when it was double cash and RP. The only exception I have with helping someone else out is if I only do it once for the person/persons and just move along (think of it as a wanderer esc type of deal where you meet them once, help them out, and then wander away)

I´ve helped so many randoms in the past , just because i´m a nice guy on GTA :) for example I help some other CEOs when they deliver the cars and shoot down the Buzzards for them ..

but also I got help from other players so many times (many ppl here in this forums thankfully helped me too) ...way better than jet griefing or someting...

Quite a few times. Non hostile players letting me test driver their rides when I didn't have enough dolla to buy at the time, distracting griefers by sending muggers etc

I've met a lot of nice randoms that I wish I kept in contact with, this was mainly on PS3.

I look for the lowest ranked person in a lobby and i offer them a ride.

If they get in I take them to a Pegasus or Special vehicle and let them drive that.

I help when I can... Especially MCs trying to sell their products. Those missions can down right brutal if you don't have the right tools. Even a simple helicopter ride back their businesses or giving a Boxville a small push to gain more speed goes a long way.

Well, I help randoms getting Dubsta2's, Hearses and Mariachi Tornados

And of course the Returning Player Bonus, but that's not really in-game helping :p

It's actually quite rare I receive help from strangers... Wow, now that I think about it, I've not been helped by a stranger for two years...

In my early days I was driving arround in my car enjoying to be chased by others who tried to kill me low level. I saw a white dot surrounded by four pink dots at Vespucci highway and decided to help that white dot out. Sure enough they all were much higher ranks than me with of course better weapons too. But I could help by focusing the fire on me so the white dot started to prevail the fight. I got some few kills on them, too. Once the fight settles down the white dot and me escaped in her car. It turned she became my 1st and longest friend in GTAO until now and a few level-ups of me later and with two of her friends, we did the Criminal Mastermind Challenge on my 1st try.

Much other situations too, but this one I won't ever forget.

Others like doing crate runs and seeing other CEO's chased by Buzzards on their I/E work - I make a quick turn and shoot them down - keeps up the peace in the lobby for some time.

While playing A Titan Of A Job I noticed a level 10 in a grey Khamelion (bless their soul as 'twas my first car) get lost trying to navigate LSIA! They'd driven on the upper deck of the passenger pick-up and drop-off roadway, crashed over the edge, and drove into some dead end concrete alley. So I backtracked, met up with them, and had them follow me to the ramp! Yes, they successfully made it over!

I don't remember getting helped by a stranger before, on the 360 or PC previously (its likely but I just don't recall any specifics) but these days I help out low level CEO's do their thing, acting as their pilot if they don't have a Buzzard and helping them successfully deliver their vehicles. Spent an hour earlier doing so, sourcing car after car so they could earn some more cash to get their Buzzard, with no expectation on making any money myself, just a desire to help out. I do less of my CEO stuff these days, got enough cash and the vehicles I want and just help out when asked.

I'll join random heists/setups or special vehicle missions on call. I don't need the money, I just want to play co-op. I want a co-op experience and the people I join need willing players. It's a win win, I help you help me type of unspoken deal.

Edit: often it doesn't go that well due to bad players getting killed or standing around... but at least I try. :/

I randomly help people sometimes, but I never get helped with anything it seems. Unless I'm playing with a friend.

This, and those randoms I help usually return the favor with some hot lead.

Yep, been getting stabbed a lot or knocked over the head when spawing back in a lobby from Special vehicle missions :/

This is a topic well-covered on the forum, but it's always good to hear new tales of chivalry, samaritanism, and two-shoeing.

1. I recently helped a lower level player understand why you don't screw with a higher level player and not expect consequence.

2. I recently helped a few higher level players understand why running crates and cars in a lobby full of miscreants can sometimes be frustrating.

3. Lastly, I do occasionally present myself as a generous type by dropping free Romero Hearses on unsuspecting players, who sometimes don't understand and shoot me down.
But hey, it's GTAO. What do I expect, right?

I try to help players whenever I can. Usually lower rank people if I see them getting killed over and over by a bigger player.

Recently we had a player deliberately f*ck up one of our high paying missions. So we all helped him die a lot after than.

Yes I have, in response I have gotten:

Someone who appreciates it and will help me out on occasion.

A "Lost puppy" who will follow me into every session and expect me to help them make money until I block them.

Shotgun blast to the face.

You can only guess which two happens most often.

Right?!

Today I taught some randoms to fear the Savage.. or I think I did at least, considering he gave up trying to shot me down, went passive and spawned a Hydra...

I do the same when I can't play with friends and it can be pretty profitable joining setups & heists on call. Sometimes I end up getting multiple finales in a row so normally I ask if I'm welcome before it launches... Last thing I want to do is steal someone's spot as I try to help :)

Anyways, I applaud your help. Heists & setups are much better with a good team.

No Use For A Name

All the time, but sometimes my assistance causes problems more than it solves them.

A few days ago I was in my Brickade trolling cops in passive when I noticed a low level MC president getting harassed by Los Santos' finest. She was getting repeatedly killed, so I went over and started running them over and blowing up their squad cars to create a diversion. Afterwards I messaged her to let her know I was trying to help. Her response? "Thx, but u blew up my supplies." Apparently she was doing a resupply mission and I ran over the cop motorcycle.

Whoops

- Taking down Insurgents, Tanks, Hydras, Savages, Buzzards if they act as griefers. I do really enjoy killing griefers :evilgrin:

- Protecting random selling operations (MC Product / CEO Cargo).

- Doing VIP work to share money with newbies and to rank them

- Showing the 5-10 level players the Sanking XL farming in action if they beg for moneybags ("I don't even have money to buy a gun")

- Sharing a vehicle for a test drive (usually, if asked)

- Helping with a Pacific Standart finale (3 players are waiting in the bank, I'm going to bikes solo and then suicide)

- Helping to sell collections, of course

- If I plan to spend time in a garage, I usually land and park luxury planes on the road, so anyone can "steal" and use them. But usually, players ignore or blow them up :)

The problem with helping players in GTA - randoms don't usually trust you or just refuse to accept the help. For example, two guys crashed in a plane and I was about to pick them in a Heli. As a result, they hit me with a missle.

Tips for good samaritans in GTA:

1) It's better to communicate and clear your intentions before approaching.

2) Expect to get shot after you helped a player. It's the same as getting shot after a heist - a part of GTA "culture", you just need to get used to it.

Rarely recieved any help in a freeroam recently, but it's because I almost never need it.

Previously, when I wasn't a CEO, random guys offered a ride if the car was blown or stuck.

And, yes, I used to be a guy waiting in the bank when I was level 12 or so

Biggest help I got was back on ps3, I was a low rank and someone asked if I wanted to do rooftop rumble over the chat(This was back when rooftop rumble was so easy to do)

So this guy ran rooftop rumble 20-30 times for me, ended up making plenty of money, then when we came back to freeroam he modded a street car up for me and told me to sell it, got over 100k from that car.

Was loving it.

A large number of the people on my friend list are folks that I've decided to pop in and help at random, either by gifting them random cars when you still could, showing up to help them in freemode fights, or by accepting random invites to be an associate or part of a biker crew, just to help them out.

I was flying in my buzzard and noticed 2 randoms getting chased by those god-like NPC buzzards/sultans during an I/E source mission.

I intercepted the NPCs and blew the f*ck out of them. I immediately wrote "friendly. i just killed those buzzards. i hate those things." They were quite happy.
I'd like to say I did it purely to be nice but-- honestly-- it was more of an instinct. I'll take any opportunity to kill those overpowered f*cks.

A random act of kindness was just icing on the cake.

Added them to my friends list and they're good guys. They're never on anymore, though, like most of my friend list.

Not everyone is a idiot.. But most people are.

I help people all the time. But im very selective. And sometimes i do get attacked after helping them. But they just get put on the list.. I deal with tme after..lol.

Some people tho.. Do like to help low levels. As they think the low level are getting picked on. But never see how it all started. When infact the low level is the one thats attacking everyone and just getting spanked. Soo once they try and help that low level, they get attacked too. Basically learning why that low level is getting killed in the 1st place.

Usually the best thing to do is.. send them a text. Saying... i got your back. If they still attack, well.. Well i just attack them too.

Here someone i just helped.. For some reason attacking me.

There I was, a high-speed helicopter chase, me and my 'Bob with a precious Pegassi Osiris on the hook, the Buzzards where relentless, my poor Cargobobby where on it's last legs. Out of the blue I saw a missile fly pass, I looked at the radar and saw a player in a Buzzard, I expected the inevitable - but no! Player Buzzard took out those AI Buzzards and flow off, I sent him a message of thankfulness.

If we ever meet again, Le_Patatoor, I owe you one, buddy!

I discovered long ago that the population was clinically paranoid, so as others have also mentioned its best to send the a short message to say you're a friend not a foe.

I always keep an eye on the map, activities, and who's killing who. I try to help people who need it all the time, although I typically avoid getting involved in firefights. I'm very selective and like to vet the situation before getting involved.

Random acts of kindness are a good thing and more people need to do them. They don't necessarily need to be big gestures. Like the other day I saw a lonely CEO with a bounty playing sightseer... I showed them benevolence by patiently waiting for them to finish before claiming the bounty. Small gesture, mutually profitable.

I've done the same for those transporting I/E vehicles, or simply just covering them til they reach their destination. One of my larger recent assists was clearing a barge I saw spawn offshore near Zancudo of hostiles so when the person in the cargobob finally arrived they could just collect the car and go while I covered them. I was in the area not doing much, thought I might as well help them out. I'm sure they appreciated it.

I sometimes steal a lazer and land it near someone to tell them its all yours. Though it is hilarious how at times they crash not too long after taking off lmao
