GTAO Unpopular Opinions

It’s only exercising the same extreme prejudice most other players show towards elements that they think sh*t on the game. My particular trigger is the Deluxo, and you can plead your case as much as you like, my opinion is that no good deed is ever done by a person driving one. They cause endless trouble, so for that reason I enjoy blowing them up before they can.

Based off the many times we've crossed paths while discussing PvP/PvE stuff, you know this is not true. Many clearly use these things as they're convenient and have weapons if needed, though as said since, many can't resist pulling the trigger when their controller starts beeping once locking on to a passer by. Nog wrong on saying it's a nuisance, mostly.

Though that said, I don't take it personal when another takes a pot shot at me. My 'trigger' was that poxy Ruiner and the VIP exploit that plagued crates, bikers, and I/E for me in the end. The Oppressor nor this Deluxo or any of it, even that cannon.

Won't get me again. (That cannon is yet to).

Far too rich to be drawn back into that Game of Kicks out there, lol.

My unpopular opinion atm... This nightclub DLC doesn't need to make me money. I want this to be all about the push of RDR2's proposed immersion and depth in story mode. Don't need cash from it, let's just get gameplay, and garages, toys too. And have fun. (Though no research-like crap!).

The other, I find DDH to be an absolute breeze, just gotta do it and learn the spawns. Piece of cake now, lol.

There are a few contradictions in this post. You say that you understand the prejudice, but then declare that nobody can (I think you mean "should") shoot down a Deluxo without reason. In my experience, and in the experience of one or two others I imagine, I only ever see the Deluxo being used to cause trouble. I agree with DangerZoneX back up the thread there, where he says that he never sees a Deluxo driver able to hold his rockets when passing if they auto-lock onto something. The vehicle is a damn nuisance. If I am in session, players will get no peace from me if they are trying to get that thing in the air. It's my new sport, like duck shooting, but instead shooting at Deluxos. I'll pay the insurance, it's worth it.

I’ve held fire after locking on to something many times. As I said, I look at what other people are doing before I even leave my spawn point. I also look at who’s killing who (if that’s even happening at all) and the ratio. If the ratio seems off, I’ll then look at the ranks of the players and if one, both, or all of them are running any type of cargo. Yes, it’s a lot to look at, but it helps if you know that you will be in that session for a while. I also look at the number of players, check it again periodically, and see if there is any connection between new players in session and increased kills.

As I said even a while ago, anyone who blows my Deluxo up in freemode will be dealt with accordingly. Yeah, you said I can plead my case all I want, but the fact is that I paid 4.7 million dollars for mine (aka a sh*tload of money), partially with 50 USD of my real money. That highlights a glaring issue that R* is seemingly unwilling to fix, I’ll say that, but I value my purchase because of how expensive that car was to buy. That’s all why I will deal and have dealt with anybody that f*cks with it, that’s part of why I take this sh*t personally, and that’s why anyone who destroys them at will is almost a bottom feeder to me. I do hope that they hike the insurance back up to 20k or more.

I can indeed understand the prejudice while saying that it’s bullsh*t. I gave my example of being griefed my Oppressors. I’ve also been jet griefed. Those experiences do not magically give me the justification to destroy every Oppressor or Hydra I see. I’m not triggered by them. Filled with dread, maybe, but not triggered like a damn robot that has to destroy all of them in sight. Like I said, I will look and see what everybody’s doing and if somebody’s f*cking with someone else’s sh*t, I’ll probably act, but if not, I give them the benefit of the doubt.

Strange stance. It's not like you don't just click Mors Mutual and get it back almost immediately or anything. You value something that has no value, and your affection for your Deluxo blinds you to what an absolute menace they are, floating around like annoying wasps. You have just made me more determined than ever to step up my campaign against them, and destroy as many as I can. I like it when their drivers get so pissed off after trying to respawn it two or three times that they leave the session in defeat.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree on Deluxos even remotely being a nuisance. Maybe I’ll start my own campaign against Akulas. Seems a bit dumb, though.

Yellow Dog with Cone

This reminds me of some games like The Witcher, in which if you brandish your weapon, some NPCs can turn aggro on you even if you didn't wanted to engage in combat in the first place.

Sometimes, when I'm flying in my Molotok or my Nokota, some players seem to directly try to engage me, why? Because I'm flying in a weaponized aircraft and GTA Online being a "shoot first, ask questions never" kind of game, it's of no surprise when it happens.

Even in Passive Mode, there's some players that start to creep on you, cuz they don't really know if you're going to Passive pop on them or not.

Exaggerated? Perhaps. Unfair? Absooutely. Does it surprise me? Of course not.

Sadly, I had gave so many Deluxos the benefit of the doubt just for said decision to bite me in the ass moments later. Sadly, the Deluxo because the tryhard/griefer vehicle of choice and because of such stigma, not only I barely drive/glide/fly mine, I also feel more confident into using my Oppressor (a once demonized vehicle) for quick transport without being called a tryhard (but what's a tryhard nowadays?).

I must say that of all the " troll vehicles," such as the Hydra, Lazer, Oppressor, Deluxo, Akula etc. I consider the Deluxo least threatening by far. It's the easiest to destroy as a fairly large and not especially nimble or hardened target, easiest to outrun as its fastest form is a mediocre sports car, easy to predict as it doesn't have the same latitude for skill to increase effectiveness as the others do and the simplicity of operation means that the average noob troll looking for the easiest vehicle to use will pick a Deluxo if they can.

It is kind of idiot proof to fly, where a jet or helo will take some time to master the individual quirks of it's handling.

Deluxo, as a concept, is pretty cool, but has been taken too far for it's own good.

It would make a fantastic vehicle for sell missions!

I'd trade the Deluxo's weapon system for a turbo boost kinda like the one in the movie that makes the car jump through a portal and exit at random locations on the map. That would be so much fun :pp

@Big Molio

I dunno, for me the kind of players that shoot down all Deluxos they see, should also be shooting down all helicopters too because it could be a Buzzard, and a Buzzard in the hands of a competent pilot can cause a lot of immense trouble to anyone on foot.

Also, you mentioned that since the game has insurance, getting shot down in a Deluxo is no problem...

But you skip over the fact that the Deluxo you shot down could be caring supplies or crates, or the driver could be dealing with a timed mission and has no time to lose with players suffering with severe PSTD from the mere sight of a flying car.

I think you're just making up excuses here to not be called out as an asshole.

I want a land vehicle that has stealth mode like the Akula. But knowing rockstar, it’ll probably be unbalanced.

No Use For A Name

That’s the thing though, I’ve had hundreds of helicopters fly over me and continue about their business. Many home in on me but don’t shoot.

You know how many Deluxos have flown over me without trying to blow me up? One. I was so shocked I sent him a message thanking him....then later in the session the same Deluxo destroyed someone’s supplies

There is zero learning curve with Oppressors and Deluxos; they’re griefing tools for unskilled retards. At least with a jet you need to know how to fly and be good at target acquisition.

I proudly shoot down every one I see. If you get near me in one of those f*cking things you’re dead. Past history says the vast majority of people who use them are douchebags. Better safe than sorry

The Doomsday Heist is the worse update to come out for GTAO because of the aimbot AI and poor mission design of the three Acts (setup missions included).

+1 And the Oppressor is still easy to kill (assisted aim lobbies) by just getting out of your vehicle and shooting the rider with a gun. Meanwhile on the ground I feel defenseless against a good Lazer, Hydra, or Akula pilot. They can line you up and kill you before you know they're approaching.

The jet prevalence must be a console thing.

Trying to fly with keyboard & mouse is hairy business.

I have played a bunch of proper flight sims, and without using a stick merely not crashing is tricky, let alone hitting much of anything with MG or cannon.

And I promise, if anyone sees me in their session in a Deluxo (very unlikely, but you never know) I am NOT out hassling people.

Of course, I'm much more likely to be in an Akula.

Still not out to hassle people.

No flying, no R2K missiles or whatever the next generation of sh*tty gimmick will be. Just something actually useful when sourcing and selling.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but I’m kind of hoping GTAO will get mechsuits and spaceships further down the line.. I mean, with the Deluxo already in the game, and the Oppressor - what reason do they have to not go that route?

But I’m also hoping it’ll be like the last things they add.

IMO, there are two - and only two! - acceptable approaches to in-game radio hosts: either you can get someone who can actually act (Pam Grier for The Lowdown 91.1), or have someone just be themselves, and not over-sell it (Kenny Loggins for Los Santos Rock Radio).

I'll make a slight exception for, say, Cara Delevingne earnestly reading her lines like it's a school report - or even better, Roy Haynes in GTA IV, who sounds like they just got him to share some anecdotes about the good old days, recorded them, and then edited them around the various tracks. :pp

There's maybe a couple of times he specifically refers to Liberty City and GTA stuff (rather than real-world people!), and you can hear how he's clearly not au fait with the whole 'this is for a fake radio station in a fake city you visit in an videogame' malarkey, but dutifully says the lines anyway, then goes back to the stuff that actually makes sense (and not all this electronic pretend stuff you kids are into these days! ;)).

Personally, I've never felt threatened enough by a Deluxo to have to shoot it down.  I mean, you can hop in a Buzzard and they'll never catch you.  Hell, many cars can drive faster than a Deluxo can fly.  Plus, they're sitting ducks to a jet of any variety.

Overall, Deluxos are a minor nuisance at best.

My only Deluxo complaint is that my friend who uses one insists on flying it everywhere even though it's slow as hell in the air.

Well this is a minor one and I don't know if this is even unpopular but...

I prefer crawling after you playing in tequila-la after fleeca job over coming on strong. Crawling after you plays on last gen versions of the game as coming on strong isn't featured in the old gen version of the game at all
