GTAO Unpopular Opinions

In the words of Rockstar F*GGOT, the dripfeed exists to keep us busy, and people put up with it. IMO, people would still be kept busy if they just released an update in one go, seeing how expensive everything is in total. They could also release just a couple, completely new vehicles or something after the initial update drops if they need something for players to look forward to.

That's kinda popular opinion here.

So you're suggesting a dripfeed to replace the dripfeed?

No, I mean developing some new stuff, seperate to the major updates. Like a mini update that R* can produce very easily in between major updates.

I actually enjoy an off the radar jet griefer destroying crates that I have travelled halfway across the map to pick up. Also I just love their costume, the way they combine nothing but body tattoos and a pair of shorts is so tasteful and imaginative.

I love it when I see some sexy female character walking around, I text her about how cute she is, she texts me back "I'm a boi" and then they leave the lobby when I tell them "I'll make a girl outta you ;) "

Tactical outfits makes you a tasteless neanderthal.

Wearing masks, helmets or goggles, and any way shield your face or hair completely makes the character creation obsolete, so you are a grade A buffoon.

More heists aren't really the best solution when it comes to putting some much-needed PvE content into the game.

I say this, because it's not just about shooting NPCs instead of other players - there's the whole 'freedom of pacing/environmental exploration' aspect of a GTA-like game that automatically goes out of the window with something strictly linear. For the most part, something like the Humane Labs Raid finalé really doesn't need an open-world environment to work - same with the single-player heists, in fact.

Compare that to something like Cleaning the Cat House - even working with what was in the game at launch, you can choose to take out the goons at long range, cover-shoot your way though the motel, blast everyone to kingdom come with something like the Buzzard or even the Rhino, or ...park a Frogger directly on the roof above Anna, then fly away as soon as she hops in. Because the objectives for those kinds of missions are simple and flexible (without being elaborately scripted, or insta-failing if you don't follow orders to the letter), you can do them however you fancy, and even experiment with new things, much like you can with stuff in Freemode.

(doesn't help that they're 4-player jobs by default, either - you need a half-competent team to not waste your time, and if people are just joining to earn money, you can't afford to spend time trying out different ways to play)

^ I don't disagree at all dude, aside the last point in the brackets.

Yeah, they can be a pain in the ass to get going, but I've found some of my better friends doing heists dude. The linear thing I totally get, more so as they tweaked Pac Finale so as to further press players to less choice.

But at the same token, there has just been so many times that I or another takes the lead or we all just got along from the off and could chat about plans for a given job too.

For me, I love the idea of teamwork and coming up with 'our' plan but I can see how these punish those that choose to communicate less, lone wolves, and trying to talk to players of different nationalities without confusion too.

I'm looking forward to the idea of more heists, very keen to explore it/them. But I don't want public heists, nor research, so my excitement is on hold, lol.

But for sure, i do hope there's a good amount of flexibility, just like the mission you used, we should be able to pick our way. Especially now with the ever growing technology too. Though, i don't expect it to be any more flexible, i do hope so.

Plus, one thing I've found these days, because there is so much in freemode, and because it's so easy to be 'that person' in the lobby and cause grief, the heists of late have been less full of twats looking to just cause disruption, leaving only those wanting/needing them done. Sweet for me and many, lol. But also, with players that run these and need the cash/unlocks etc. I've found that players are either willing to do as told, or just stand back.

I know it defeats the point when someone does sod all and 1/2 people take the reigns, but it is better than walking away with nothing, and many of these jobs, others can often just get in the way. Deliver EMP, collecting the Casco, if people leave me to it, they get done, lol.

And if it pays really well, even easier. Kids want cash. You can shout the little sods down more often than not.

But, aside all that nonsense. Crews are gonna thrive here again, learning to be efficient and figure the best routes and what-not. And for those with friends, or the ability to get along and work with mutually respectful players, this could just be awesome. And so many benefit from that. As that info will soon spread, and once again we'll be hiding the noobs inside the bank/vehicles with all the loot. (Not ideal for me, I prefer to go the 'right' way - Not that there should be, lol).

Anyway, I'm rambling a bit. For me, I loved heists, and felt it was implemented very well. But as I've learned with this game/site here, there's just so many things at play, though I'm stoked at the potential, I'm just as worried that the DLC will include things I just cannot stand, nor others. So I do understand this type of gaming doesn't suit some, and the thought of working with randoms is just chilling too.

I just hope the DLC as a whole does more to show gamers count as much as those paying is all. To bring the game back to all. Plus, with all the freemode possibilities, I do feel now more than when the original heists dropped, players that don't/won't/can't, do have an awful lot of options now.

Lone wolves can flourish, given time, I feel. But it'll naturally take longer, and trickier to do team orientated things.

I agree, this is something I didn't like about the SP story either, most of the missions are tightly scripted and might as well fit in a linear shooter. I loved the Contact Missons because they were like classic GTA objectives, open ended and allowed you multiple ways to complete them. You didn't need to rely on other people (for most of them) if you didn't want to. Nothing like completing LS Connection solo for the first time.

The Ruiner 2000 is overrated.

I think a lot of it comes down to the skills of the player and this is a prime example of a superb helicopter pilot against a bad Ruiner driver.

I haven't yet been taken out by a Hunter during Fully Loaded (although I came very close last night) but then I don't think anyone has used the canons against me...and this is demonstrates how effective they can be, particularly in the right hands. Good job.

I agree, that bugged me with the story missions, it felt like they had us in a much tighter box on how we could complete them.

Like the banshee 900R and the sultan. I would love some more DLCs like that, just drop one two high quality cars, same thing with clothes and hair styles. Would make everyone happy.

Every time the new DLC gets announced, a new thread gets created for that update, but people will still post into "next DLC speculation thread" to discuss about the newly announced DLC.

And that's not all. When the DLC actually gets released, it gets it's own section in the forums, which means, that soon we will have THREE THREADS and ONE UPDATE to discuss about. I find it hard to follow the discussion of the coming uodate that way, when I have to have three threads open at the same time.

This happens every time and every time I mention about it, people are like; "WTF is your problem man?" "You have weird issues"

My unpopular opinion is that we should lock the "next DLC speculation thread" every time the new DLC gets officially announced and keep it locked until the update's release.

GTAV/Online would have benefited, and profited more from haviing Paid DLCs vs everything in Free Updates. Meanwhile Shark Cash Cards would remain as an optional time saver, allowing players to quickly purchase the majority of the Online content added in each new DLC. (Rockstar could have even sold DLC + Shark Cash Card bundles)

Non Funkable Token

Facilty and bunker should be the same thing. I mean, instead of introducing a new property, they should just give you the option to upgrade the bunker.

The map is full of ugly floor patches right now.

Hell no, since the forum started putting all the best threads into sub sections never to be seen again that is the only good thread we have left.

I never forget that feeling of Rio de Janeiro I got on playstation 3 lobbies, when immortal Jesus like rides Enus Super Diamond in Richman, every player car if near does drive by kills, there are run and gun at Sandy Shores, gang bang at downtown and total war at LSIA. People been blowing instantly from time to time, money falls in bags from the skies. Good times.

I don't know what the consensus here is, just judging by what I see everyone in when i'm online, they seem to be pretty popular
