How would you prefer the Ruiner 2000?

I just purchased the Ruiner 2000, Knight Rider type car with rockets, guns and parachute etc on it. For how much the car costs (Over $5.5 million if i remember correctly) it's pretty poo! The homing missiles are pretty much pointless since they stopped homing missiles auto locking on to other players. They will lock, but only if another player shoots at you. But when they shoot at you, to get a lock onto them you have to be facing them. This is pointless as the car has zero armour and they simply gun you down through the window in a heartbeat. It won't lock onto choppers or jets either. So you have to wait to be attacked BEFORE you can get on lock on the enemy. It should at least lock onto other players in cars, choppers and jets even if they don't attack you.

It's based on Knight Rider but KIT in Knight Rider at least had bullet proof armour. For over $5.5 million i really think it should have it. To me, this car doesn't really have any benefits other than being nice to use in the wilderness and Sandy Shores area where you can jump and parachute over difficult terrain. Other than that i see no benefits to it. The machine guns are really weak, it fires just 8 rockets that you have to drive back to your warehouse to replace after use, can't be used on missions, can't be delivered to you if you have to leave it over 1 side of the map. This car costs about, what, £35 in shark card money? That's the price of new game! crazy.

I'll never pay full price for it. Not worth it.

Maybe if it goes on sale for half the price

Besides, I'm already saving for whatever comes next.

Benny, I'm saving everything for you...

You're wrong about the lock-on, you have targetting priority set to "attackers" iirc instead of "strangers".

What you say about the homing missiles is just plain wrong. They lock onto any player in a car, and they are nearly impossible to escape. They don't work as well against guys on foot.

This car might be the best balanced super weapon in the game. Probably not worth the money, but, it was never meant to be anything other than an expensive toy. Honestly, if it was more affordable, too many would be roaming around. JMO of course.

1- Start the Ruiner 2000 CEO mission.

2- Use the car provided as it has unlimited rockets and is heavily armoured compared to its purchased version.

3- Grief/profit.

Best car in the game as far as goofing off and trolling people. Also a GREAT stunt car. You can grind around the city like a skateboarder. Hopping, grinding and sailing is a blast. Missiles are supreme. I've had some sick kills with these.

I take down helicopters, and they can take down jets. These are faster than the missiles on a buzzard or something. Yes, players on foot you can't lock on, but still the missiles can explode near them and kill.

And if you play at one easy mission, you get a million plus dollar discount. Nuts! I don't regret buying it for a second.

The suggestions the OP makes would turn it into another griefing tool which we don't need. I don't own one and haven't seen too many around in free roam so far, but if it was bullet proof and cheaper, the streets would be full of them and how tedious would that be?

the only real issue is that you only get limited missiles. But see whywontyoulisten's post to get around that. Not suicide, I've taken down lobbies in freeroam with this. People running like cockroaches. You need to use it correctly.

that 3rd point is so awesome!

the other day i griefed a lobby for over 1 hour doing hostile takeover + headhunters back to back to back, totally unfair for the others, i was pretty much getting paid to grief the session haha

Oh! How do i change it? My jet and chopper used to auto lock onto other players to but stopped after the last update. So i just thought that was it.

Not so, i don't think. Keep the price but at atleast make it bullet proof. Even being bullet proof wouldn't make it great for griefing as you can still easily destroy it with rockets, sticky bombs and such. Just like the armoured Kuruma. As it is people can easily gun you down while driving by. And they can see you coming in it a mile off as it has its own special little icon on the map to alert everyone you have it.

I wish it could drive itself so you could set a marker and it would take you there by itself, much like the taxi but faster. This way you could focus on shooting attackers and such without having to be concentrated on the driving; or even drive itself without nobody on the inside so you could set it to go to somewhere else you'd need it later on, or to drive for a friend to use it if he was on trouble, without having to go there yourself.

I disagree. The Kuruma is irritating as hell in free roam. The last thing we need is one that fires rockets!

The price is right, I really don't want to see a session full of Ruiners2k. The only thing that bothers me is the limited amount of rockets. It doesn't make sense. Every vehicle in the game has unlimited ammo, why this one doesn't? The hydra is cheaper and can kill NPC's and players faster than the Ruiner (and any other vehicle). That nerf is what makes the car not worth the price.

Unlimited rockets, completely or at least partially bullet proof windshield, survival of 1 explosion, a lot better jumping(x2 higher), and a speed boost capability when using that chute since currently the chute just makes it a slow moving target when airborne.

O yea, increase the speed and acceleration on this thing, but nerf the amount of rockets it can fire per minute by 100 percent and let it have a bullet proof back option and a spoiler option.

edit: actually just partially bullet proof windows would be fine, considering the insurance is still a thing when not on PC.

Besides that, i stick with anything else i said.

just dodge the first rocket that thing fires with putting an object between you and that thing, and then go out of cover and shoot the driver.

even if the driver is jumping over you, it will go slow once in mid air and thus you will be able to hit it with a well aimed RPG if it is passed you....and once that is done the car will probably end up making a really ungraceful landing.

As for being in a helicopter, again, i think unarmed helicopters should simply get flares.

and yes, i do think the ruiner you buy should have the rockets lock onto aircraft.

I did have 1 cool kill last night. Someone chased me in a high end car shooting me from behind with an Uzi. I hit the jump button and deployed my parachute so he went straight under me and ended up in front and because he fired at me my missiles auto locked on to him so, i took the shot and got him. lol

But apart from that its just people machine gunning me down through the window on foot.

Well, but the Kuruma doesn't have it's own icon so it's easier to be caught by surprise, and it can be destroyed by explosives that anybody minimally smart that focus on freeroam has. I think it would make sense for a 5mil car to have the same ammount of armor as another that costs just half a million, mainly since the Ruiner 2000 is obviously based on KITT that was nearly indestructible in the show.

Yeah, i noticed that. I had a chopper try to grief me so i jumped over a cliff and deployed my parachute in an attempt to get away. But the parachute just made me a sitting duck for the choppers homing missiles. So kind of bullet proofing and removing its special icon from the map would be nice.

The kuruma loses any battle against another vehicle, as you can't throw explosives from inside. You just need to be quick enough to avoid being killed by guns. Anyway, I agree that a vehicle with bulletproof windows and a rocket launcher is extremely OP. It's better to keep that feature limited to the kuruma.

The rocket limit is a drag if you're not exploiting "Fully Loaded" but still not a deal breaker. Just go in and out again to reload. You've probably killed 6-8 people with that one load.

The rockets are deadly, and lock fast. I fkn hate shooting from a buzzard or hydra and a guy in a sultan RS or something can basically outrun your missile. Not so with the Ruiner. They will kill the target with one shot.

The CEO work makes it worthwhile. Took out an MC repeatedly the other day. They used jets, buzzards and their own ruiners. Most fun I've had in a while.

To be frank, if you don't even know how to change targeting preferences you're not qualified to suggest 'improvements' 😃

It's perfectly balanced as it is. 👍

I'd prefer if we could apply all these new mods to any car. I want a T20 2000, a Guardian Lowrider and a Rocket Ruffian.

That's what I want, for now! (Or I should say, that's all I can afford for now)

Removal of special icon ? f*ck that !

I barely have any skill with this thing yet i can actually avoid rockets by just timing my jump.

Also besides that, one can still just leave the vehicle and shoot a homing rocket.

This especially should not happen if they ever buff this thing like i would want to see it buffed and this especially sounds like a bad idea considering that even the crappy version from warstock as it currently is, is a land vehicle hunter incarnate.

edit: also regarding the kuruma, and for that matter any armored vehicle, insurance should be removed since even when just blowing the thing up you are wasting money on explosives.

I'd pay no more than $2.2M for it. Doesn't matter how much money I have now, I can't make that car worth more than that much to me.

Until that day comes, I will live without it.
