-Create a new user on a current gen console or PC;

-With this new user, you log into PSN/LIVE on the current gen console or PC, since you don't own a current gen console or PC, you will have to share your game tag AND password;

Just a small note, this will not work as easily on PC. Serial key of the PC copy is bound to the Social Club account that redeemed it, so one has to own the game beforehand before being able to launch it/access GTAO.

You don't need a new PSN or XBL account though if you are moving up to the latest console in the same family (PS3>PS4 or XB360>XB1). For cross-console or anything>PC you would need a new account.

 

Just be safe and change your email and password before handing it over and screenshot (or take pictures of the screen with a camera) of what you have before transferring.

Why trust a perfect stranger? Good point. Only you can make that choice. You need your account transferred and I personally just want to help people that may not be able to transfer before the deadline.

I wish I was rich so I could give ps4/gta to everybody that don't have one. It's a must have, last gen players are missing out on soo much stuff. I want them to experience all the good sh*t on current gen.. that first minute of playing on ps4 was game changing for me. I immediately recognized the differences and how good everything looked and felt compared to the ps3 version.

Now i was wondering, just how many of you people are still around that do want to transfer in the near future, but simply can afford a next gen console yet?

 

Maybe few people here can simply help by transfering these people to current gen consoles ahead of time. Like i for example have a PS4, i could simply transfer that person's account right now, so it will be ready for use in a couple of months whenever that person finally has obtained a PS4 as well.

 

 

I can empathize with financial limitations, but here is my question: this game is now 3+ years old. We are much closer to the end that the beginning. At what point are you going to scrap making an upgrade to PS4 for XB1 based on a game that will soon be 3 1/2 years old and in the near future probably won't be supported much?

 

Ending the character transfer smacks of Rock Star applying a broad solution to a much narrower problem--easier to ban transfers than roll up their sleeves and police the accounts, because, well, they don't want to devote the manpower. My 3 1/2 year comment also applies to them--at some point, they too should just let it go (I know that isn't the opinion of many on here).

 

There are two things that are important to Rock Star (and it is sort of a chicken and egg thing): 1) money made on the game 2) keeping the number of players still playing up (because people that ain't playing don't buy Shark Cards). This move might help with number one but it seems like it would hurt with number 2--there will be some people like OP who for whatever reason couldn't transfer by that date and thus will never do it. Frankly, on a three year old game, I am guessing this won't be a ton of people.

You'd be surprised but there are a lot of genuinely nice and trustworthy people on here. Dignified tick comes to mind immediately. D.b cooper is pretty chill too. I'm sure if you ask one of the 5 star rated people who've been around for awhile, they'd do it for you. Personally I don't want that responsibility, but still. Lots of help here. That's why I've stuck around. Like a dysfunctionally functioning family

Even the 5 stars on here are pretty sketch. To anyone actually considering this, just ask a staff member like MiamiViceCity or WildBrick. Those guys seem chill enough.

With regards to people who haven't transferred yet, there are a variety of free to low cost solutions you can use before the deadline.

 

Just off the top of my head...

1. Ask a friend or trusted forum member to help you

2. Rent a console and a copy of the game

3. Buy used/refurbished

I think stopping transfers is more likely to directly limit number of players playing (which indirectly could impact Shark Card sales). I do know when Take Two releases financial reports, they include number of players playing GTAO as this is related to potential future income. And while your logic about not being able to buy shark cards if you can barely afford to upgrade makes some sense, there is a difference between scraping up $300 for a system plus $30 for the game (or whatever you can get it used for) and splurging for $20. Plus, people's life circumstances do change (get a better paying job, raise, etc). We don't know how long the GTAVO arc is, Still, I think Rock Star is betting that we are talking about a very small percentage of future players, so they are doing it.

With that money he have to pay rent, food for the family, electrical bills and school for his children.

 

A ps4+GTAV cost the same there as it does in Europe.

If you don't have any friends and aren't close to affording a current gen console at this point, I have to say you'll have to suck it up and get a random to transfer your profile. There are many forum members who are doing such a service, so browse around and read reviews so you can see who the trusted members are.

 

Although, I'm sure a lot of people are reluctant to transfer modded accounts. Keep that in mind if you did a money drop or other naughty things.
