Heist etiquette for failure

I don't actually mind restarting a heist or heist setup over and over again as long as I'm not tired or we're not getting stuck on the same thing over and over again. However, if you're going to keep on trying to run and gun in Deliver EMP without listening to Agent 14's instructions which clearly say that the mission is stealth only, then there's no saving you.

I leave when its clearly a lost cause, like members screwing up multiple times even with the simplest of objectives. Such as a low rank crashing the plane on prison break before he can even get the damn thing into the air, if he cannot even get the thing in the air without f*cking up he sure as hell is not gonna dodge any missiles or land the plane successfully under pressure. Not gonna waste my time in such scenarios. He may get it right on like the 15th attempt or something but that is not time I am willing to spend.

You only get so much leisure time and I am not gonna spend mine failing and failing, and failing again for an hour straight.

Just because I join your heist lobby does not mean I owe you to stick around for a ridiculous amount of time failing over and over because someone on your team cannot pull their weight. Its not like your lobby is the only one out there I can join. I think it is courtesy to at least stick around for 3 - 5 attempts minimum, expecting people to stick around who don't know you, to fail many times more beyond that is an entitled attitude. You want to carry some guy who cannot pull his weight then get friends to do it if you can guilt trip them into it.

I assume you play with a friend or buddy if you have any confidence in them, so you would really join their heist, let them take a 0$ payout and then let them do the setups without you if they lose their heist? Talk about etiquette!

I understand if a host continuously fails to grasp the concept it's their own fault but somewhere along the way if you're in their heist you can easily teach them how to do things right, or chose a different teammate. it's really not rocket surgery, IMO there's no need for written rules on why and when we shouldn't help friends set up a heist. Especially on a public forum since it's not the "legit" way.

Just my thoughts, feel free to write rules for the people you play with.

"rocket surgery"

If anyone "quits" at all in any heist whether it be mine or theirs, I leave and never do any heists with them again.

That is my etiquette.

Unless of course it was just a disconnect and the "quiting" was thus not intentional.

If someone is failing the heist because of honest mistakes, then I'm not quitting. If I can, I give some more or less polite tips in chat to them.

If someone is failing the heist because they're being stupid or trolling, then it's quitting time.

Sorry! I did misunderstand but now my misunderstanding is even worse. So what happens in all those scenarios if it's the first heist?

Same applies. For example if I am going to load up the first heist, and I fail, and it is my fault, then it doesn't count as him being paid. So basically he has no obligation to pay me back, so if he does decide to set one up, I'll end up owing him. This part is covered with basic maths.

No no, you misunderstand. I'm not talking about if they quit too late, I'm talking about if they quit too early, so that it fails. If the cohost quits too late, then you pay him back, and then you can't do heists anymore. Unless you want to help with his setups. I don't always have friends online so I use lfg websites and forums to find players.

I'm not obliged to do anything.

that's because you're an asshole and people like are you are why I never host first.

This is basic etiquette everyone should be following:

Good afternoon. Devil's Advocate, here, with one question:

Says who?

do you know what etiquette means?

Yes, I do, but your malcontented reply still doesn't answer my question.

You stated that, "this IS basic etiquette EVERYONE should be following."

I replied with a sincere, "Says who?"

I'm not sure why that's a difficult question. Just curious as to why you believe your perspectives on the matter should be observed, as you said, by "everyone."

That's all.

Really? Well if you know what etiquette means then you know your question is null. No one invented the rules, everyone just goes by them, because that's how the rules evolved in society. If you really want to pin this on someone, then everyone invented these rules, though that would make little sense to you, so you're going to go round in circles. There isn't a single person that makes up unwritten rules. That's why they're unwritten. The reason I have written these are for the few who don't have the decency to follow them. Here is an example of etiquette- If you get on a train and there is only one person sitting on it. Common etiquette is that you don't sit next to that person. Now if you want to, you could go and sit next to him. Is it illegal? No. Is it weird? Yes. Is it uncomfortable? Yes.

The same goes here- if people aren't following common sense and etiquette, it's not necessarily 'bad', but it will cause distrust within a community, and spark arguments.

When I say 'obligated', you can of course choose not to. But don't be surprised if you get named and shamed on the lfg site for scamming.

Perhaps I'm not being clear. In your original post, you express your opinion of what the etiquette on this matter is.

Some may agree while others may not.

Even in the example about sitting on a train, that is your opinion of what "common etiquette" means and what is weird or uncomfortable.

Again, some may agree while others may not.

What gets my muffin in the tumble dry is when people post their opinions that speak for a community.

The whole thing doesn't matter to me, either way, which is why I wrote "Devil's advocate," previously.

No need to reply back to my points, as it's moot from here.

I'll respectfully withdraw from the thread, as I have nothing more to contribute.

Except that I'm with REXX on this one. Cheers!

As I've said multiple times, this is not my opinion, this me trying as best I can to write down accurately what generally isn't written, but is common knowledge.

As for sitting on a train, I'm sorry, that is weird. 99% of people will agree with me. The remaining 1% don't have a say in it because they're weird. If you think doing this is normal, you're weird and should probably get tested for autism. I you're ok with someone doing this to you, then you're either also weird, or extremely friendly to the point that you should worry about your safety. No matter what I say, you'll say it's my opinion.

I could say sh*tting in public in the middle of the street is wrong, and there will probably be one idiot in the world who thinks it is. It doesn't mean it is my opinion. It is etiquette. If you're playing devil's advocate, expect a reply

There are a lot of people talking about setups and prison break and dying in a heist. That's not what I'm talking about here. The etiquette I'm talking about is for the exploit.

Aside from the Pac Standard finale issue, after repeated failure of a heist, when it's due to stupidity on the part of another player who won't respond to reasonable advice, I would say the correct procedure when respawning is to kill the offending player. Preferably this should be done with a melee weapon for maximum humiliation.

If someone fails to do a bannable offence, it's their problem, not mine. So in my guide:

For setups: 3 tries

For Finales: Depends on the time, percentage, and in Pac st. the already lost money.

15%: 3 tries

10%: I only play with friends

If someone is trolling: 2 tries, if he tries serious the second time

If someone AFK's or blows himself up intentionally: Leave session and inv everyone except the AFK'er/troll back.

If someone fails on cheating infinite finales: I couldn't care less nor should you, if you are random, otherwise Enjoy your bans.

And clearly you missed the part where I said ''If you're playing devil's advocate, expect a reply''. If you didn't want a reply you shouldn't have posted. just to play devil's advocate, which I doubt you are, you obviously believe in what you're saying. And if you wanted to leave, why exactly are you replying? As for, ''you'll live longer'', is this supposed to be a threat? Pathetic.

it's not a bannable offence, and if you're not going to talk in relation to this supposed 'bannable offence', then I don't know why you're posting at all, as it has no relation to my original post.
