Alright, I have just helped a fellow forumer from here who had a legit account, it feels good to help XD

I transferred my last unfinished account (which was a couple of months old) to give some cars away in the give cars to friend glitch. It lasted about 40 hours, got wiped/reset immediately after joining a public session. I did have time to give a few cars away off it so it wasn't a total loss. But yes if you have any modded money on the account it sounds like your looking at a 90% chance of a complete wipe.

These servers are laughable sometimes.

 

But yeah, I genuinely feel sorry for you last gen guys back there, being pushed aside. I know it's been 3, almost 4, years...but forcing you to abandon progress the day you actually get to play next gen is ridiculous. Talk about "I don't care, give me your money, peasants", damn. They are, and all R* is doing is counting how much money they got from players purchasing Shark Cards.

 

I myself am no longer a peasant for last-gen, but sadly, us PC'ers don't get the same treatment as PS4/XB1 players would.

Because I'm a active member of this forum, people from here know me, and I'm willing to help to make this game better.

 

Since yesterday I already helped with two other transfers from legit players.

 

R* is mainly doing this to fight against the players who made this game the current mess it is, I can stand behind this and I AM NOT going to fight against this by helping the cheaters.

 

And you should dial back with the offenses, you might make me laugh.

The necessity to remove the possibility for pathetic failures at life to transfer bogus, fraudulent accounts with glitched money far outweighs any benefits to others wanting to migrate.

The modders have ruined the community so completely that this is necessary and welcome!

If I want to transfer from PS4 to PC just in case, do I need an actual copy or can I let somebody do it for me?

You can let someone on PC do it for you, then once you have got your hands on a copy for PC you can play with your character

I tried today but it kept asking for activation code. Can it be used more than once without messing anything up?

My two cents on this whole situation:

Ever since they dropped the last-gen all they added was just a bunch of overpriced crap. I really don't get why people get so excited, when they announce another freemode business with the same type of 'get a bag/car/person back to a warehouse' missions. They had these kind of missions from day 1. But now they're in freemode, where other players can grief you while you're doing them and that should get me wet?! Plus a buttload of vehicles that cost $2,5 million a piece. And the only new gameplay are some boring adversay modes that nobody plays after a week.

 

Honestly, this transfer-stop feels like the beginning of the end. Probably just like 3 or 4 updates remaining. I mean, I still have a month to think about it, but I'll likely pass on the upgrade...

Modders didn't ruin the game R* allowing them to transfer modded accounts the last 2 years did. There fault for allowing people to transfer from consoles that were modded for years to next gen. If they had the transfer limit thing in place when next gen first came out it would be rare to see someone with one now. How many modded accounts transferred the last 2 years? Now they are forced to stop transfers once and for all as damage control for the mistake that they made. Lots of issues in the game that have either happened or still exist is there lack of communication with the playerbase. Also notice how they do this less than 2 weeks after patching the armored kuruma in the final heist?

Returning Player Bonuses are not related to Character Transfers. As long as you have played the Prologue and Franklin & Lamar on a last-gen platform and connected the last-gen account with your Social Club you will get the bonuses. @Classique is helping people get the bonuses, check it out if you're interested.

You need to own a copy on PC. If your PC can't run the game and are waiting to upgrade it you have to buy the game, redeem the activation code on your Social Club account and then let a PC player, that is willing to transfer the character for you, access your SC account.

To the legit players wagging their epeens and superiority complexes, this isn't about shutting down modded accounts. If it were, this would've been done LONG ago. No, this is the transition of GTA:O away from active and ongoing support to extended support. In another year from now, the new DLCs, at least the big ones will be over and R* wants to concentrate on other franchises in the pipeline. Thus, removing a major element that ties up support and resources - transfer issues - will end.

 

So many of the legit types think R*'s motive to protect the game and keep it 'legit' with this move. What silliness my pretty snowflakes. It's not all about gaming, but I wouldn't expect many of the legit bombastic types to get this. That's the interpretation of the low information GTA:O player with no critical thinking skills and ability to see what's really going on. 'R* is stopping cheeting YAY' - Sorry to burst your bubble. If there was just modded accounts being targeted, other accounts would've been left alone and transfers would continue which that isn't the case.

 

R* is setting the stage to back away from GTA:O and getting resources out of it. That's all this is legit boys.

Well there is for some people. GTAO lovers for example. Plus all the other great games previously mentioned.
