DAE like the Hydra as is?

Every time I come here I'm just always hearing something about the hydra. I'm just always reading "hydra this" "hydra that" "the hydra is overpowered" "the hydra did bad things to me" and I just never have the slightest clue just what y'all are on about. Fill me in? I just see hydras on the radar often but just they're usually just flying around and occasionally just one will try to shoot me down. Just 99% of the time he'll just miss and just crash shortly after. People just act like they just cant go out without a hydra blowing them up on the spot. I just haven't gotten blown up in months. Y'all just act like it just kidnapped your children or just something. It's not that bad, seriously. Like just get good tbh.

There are PLENTY of other threads already about the Hydra (good, bad, and indifferent) that this didn't need it's own thread.

 

To answer your question: No, it's not too common to constantly be harassed by Hydras, but it is a problem when you're doing CEO Crate and I/E work and Biker supplies/deliveries when any noob that can press a button can vaporize up to millions of dollars and hours of work. Add to that, that Hydras can outrun homing missiles and combines the fastest vehicle (Top speed, Lazer still has acceleration) in the game with the two most powerful weapons in the game.

I don't know why they gave it the same map icon as the Lazer and Hydra, but I used that bluff to get some Special crates back in the day on old-gen. People didn't F- with a Hydra if they didn't have to or didn't have a suitable counter-weapon.

Some people in the crowd were realizing last-minute that that wasn't a smart idea to be right there

Kind of like the Tankpocalypse days. Odds were good that if you joined a lobby that you could play for an hour or so and no one would pull out a tank and **** up everyone's day and stick them with PV insurance bills. But if a d-bag in a tank did start terrorizing the lobby, you could do ^(almost) nothing against it and your options were limited to running away or changing lobbies. With no map icon and off-radar a white dot could be just another cool player or a rolling $12,000 deduction on your Entity and you'd have to reach wave-9+ on a Survival or complete RR or Coveted just to make up that loss, not to mention that whatever you were doing at the time was immediately abandoned
