Vehicle Performance Upgrades

Im currently on xbox 360, ive searched for info on this subject, maybe im not using right keywords but i did not find what i was looking for, so ill ask here...

Engine, transmission and turbo all increase acceleration.....wtf is up with that, maybe its last gen problems but i hope that things are correct in next gen.

*Hopefully its like this*

Engine = Top speed / acceleration(90/10 or 80/20)

Transmission = acceleration / top speed(90/10 or 80/20)

Turbo = top speed / acceleration(50/50 or more for acceleration)

Suspension = Traction

If next gen is the same as last gen when it comes to performance upgrades, then please tell me and ill shot my self in the head, thanks.

Aim for your foot. You don't want to miss the GTA6 where the vehicle upgrades will be so detailed that you'll have to buy lug nuts and spark plugs, and maybe even have customizable gas caps that you can get in tertiary colors. Oooh la la!

i dont believe any game will have it all, there would be nothing for them to move towards.

It's GTA not Forza...

hmmm, ill buy turbo because i unlocked it before the top options for engine and transmission....OH!, my acceleration is maxed, no point in buying the others now, i guess im done, weird, why assign them to only acceleration, it makes no sense, it turns into a waste of ingame money and time unlocking them, i caught this right away, idk why they didn't, unless they knew and just don't car, even for new gen.

^ because your cars can only go as fast as the textures render in consistently across all platforms. That's why the top speed is limited and receives no upgrades IMO, that doesn't mean the upgrades don't affect your top speed though, the faster you accelerate (engine) through each gear (transmission) gives your top gear (turbo) more speed... so you do go faster with all the upgrades combined.

Don't forget, we're dealing with R* logic here :)

true, i guess it just comes down to a way that i would prefer it to be, which isn't importent when it comes to other people creations(games), oh well.

I am not sure if you are not aware of this, but upgrades DOES increase the top speed, but the top speed gain is not too big, some cars can go about 20MPH faster while others can only go 10MPH, on current gen AND last gen too.

BTW stop using the stat bars on LSC for measure on how fast your cars can go, it is well known that they are horribly innacurate on all platforms.

Also: You forgot the spoilers, they also add traction.

See, your first mistake was assuming the stat bars are accurate.

theres more to add to acceleration beyond the stat bar, and as pedinhuh said, the vehicle stats indicator are horrible.

Buy everything. The stat bars mean nothing. It has been proven, many times, that both top speed and acceleration increase with upgrades. All platforms are identical in terms of the performance boost upgrades give the cars.

I repeat THE STAT BARS MEAN NOTHING.

Use a shotgun OP, at least make it a show for the people who have to clean you up.

I suggest a couple of explosives, or maybe a gas "leak".

Go out with a bang!

I mean, yes it only makes acceleration faster, but most cars have spoiler option, which help with traction. Which helps in them a long run too.

Like said before, the LSC stats bars dont mean anything. Upgrading you car beyond a maxed stats bar will still make it quicker.
