Pacific Standard Kuruma method patched?

Well, the heist update is now dead to me. R*, once again, patching anything fun and creative.

I'm not gonna drive stupid f*cking bikes. I'm not an idiot.

I struggle to see how people claim the Kuruma was not an exploit. Heists are like cinematic missions and are intended to be done the way R* has lined it out.[...]

It was not a exploit because you did not glitch the game to do it nor did you anything that was somehow restricted. All that the mission says is: "go to the canyon", how you get there is on your own.

If I was part of the team that created heists, put all that effort into creating cinematic set pieces then found people had created work-arounds, I would probably be inclined to fix them too.

Its not really a workaround since you simply can get a streetcar was soon as you leave the city.

You are not restricted to drive the bikes to the canyon.

I see using the kurums as a creative and smart way to get the job done. I mean wich bankrobber in real life would use a bike to flee if he can get an amored car thats nearly as fast as the bike and can seat four people, who can shoot the crap out of everything that comes near the car.

Its actually funny (and sad at the same time) how some of the members here want to restrict other players how to play the game/heist.

If i want to use the kuruma, i use it. If you dont want to get in, fine by me as long as you dont die. If you did not get in and die, then expect to get kicked from my heist. If you dont want me to use the kuruma in your heist, go ahead and kick me, i dont care.

Seriously people, its a sandbox game i can do whatever i want, when i want to, as long as its in the borders of the terms of service.

If you dont like my playstyle thats ok but dont tell me how I have to play.

Rockstar does that, the rest of us don't have to. If it chaps your ass that much, better find another game.

Honestly I'm surprised it took them this long. It's an easy thing to patch and it's clearly not how they intended the heist to be played, with one guy doing the work while three others cool their heels for ten minutes waiting to get paid.

Which is why they're barely played after the first playthrough besides Pac Standard. Having railroaded missions in a sandbox game isn't a really great idea.

That just proves that Lester (or others) is terrible at efficiently and safely planning heists.

lol ^^

I said that for a long time.

I mean we steal 4 bikes who are worth 750k each bike to rob a bank for 1 Million and in the process destroy those bikes.

If we would just have sold those bikes for 2/3 of their price we would have made 2 times of what we got from the bankrobbery. Less cops, less problems but more money. I mean those biker guys could hardly go to the police and tell them that we stole the bikes that tgey stole from someone else.

Ok, now that I'm reading the hole thread, it seems to be patched. I think the consequence for me will be that I don't play the PS finale with randoms anymore. As others have said, it's not hard to ride the bikes at all, but I don't need people who will f*ck this up.

When playing this game I often wonder where my player is getting these extra clips from? He seems to spawn ammo out of thin air.

We all knew that

It was not a exploit because you did not glitch the game to do it nor did you anything that was somehow restricted. All that the mission says is: "go to the canyon", how you get there is on your own.

Exploit may not be the right choice of words, but R* stopped it from being able to be done so it is more than a fair point that the heist was not designed to completed in that way. The game mechanics have been exploited to make finishing the heist easier, so IMO its an exploit. I am not commenting on whether this is right or wrong (I have done it myself) just trying to explain why it has been patched and that there is little reason to moan about it.

You could substitute work around for something more fitting but its a lot easier in a bullet proof Kuruma with bullet proof tyres. If its an easier way of completing the mission in a way that was not intended, to me that is a work around. We could go back and forth on this for a long time without either of us budging.

Again though, I am not commenting on whether this is right or wrong (I have done it myself) just trying to explain why it has been patched and that there is little reason to moan about it.

Before I respond to this part, are you accusing me of trying to restrict the way others play the game or just other players in general?

Yup, I cant really argue with that. I rarely went back to the heists after the first play through.

The first play through of most of the heists was good fun though, and for a more cinematic experience restrictions need to be in place for players to be in the right place at the right time in the right vehicle. I wouldn't expect a full sandbox experience from a heist.

Free roam is where the sandbox play comes into its own. I dont really play CEO/VIP stuff etc but I would guess you can apply any vehicles/tactic to these as all the free roam vehicles are available to you?

Rockstar does that, the rest of us don't have to.

Well i still see countless people here who say that its good that it got patched because now everyone has to play the "intendet way". Its the same bulls*** that we have with people who say that playing import/export in solo public is cheating.

I you have a sandbox but only one way to play thats bad design.

If it chaps your ass that much, better find another game.

So you are basicly saying that i should stop playing gta online because i want to play a sandbox game the way I want!

I still like playing gta online because there are still ways to play how i want (effectiv and fun by using the slimy thing inside my head). If that involves glitching in the borders of the terms of service, i go ahead and glitch.

Edit: I know that my post is kinda bitch and moan but i think it still belongs here.

Edit 2: @ JuniorChupp

It was more a general statement on everyone who says that you are only allowed to play the "intendet way". I simply dont like it when people want to restrict other players on how those other players have to play.

I guess I won't need the Kuruma garage anymore, but really, what made the devs get up and patch this method via tuneable after nearly two years of its existence?

Was it because of sheer boredom, executives orders because it somehow cuts into shark card sales, or just a bug-patch quota that needed to be fulfilled by targeting "bugs" that are really just methods they decided to be silent about? This company is harder to understand than ancient written languages.

My guess is: They didn't fix it, because they don't care about that at all. It was just an accident. If they want to fix something, they want to fix the "no setups" glitch, that is what really breaks income comparison.

correct, LMAO at those people thinking that it was a glitch too

instead of fixing an actual bug that prevented the PVs from spawning at the start of the heist, they prevented access to the garage.

also why on earth shouldn't i be able to get in my garage during heists? what's the logical reason behind the garage being magically locked even to the freaking owner of the apartment, let alone other properties.

By the way, if you play heists with friends and those friends are competent, there is no reason you can't get 1.2 mil per run of Pac Standard on the bikes, without fail, without dying. My heist group has played that finale many dozens of times and sometimes we would use the bikes just because we were bored with the Kuruma. There's just no reason for a competent player wearing the heavy vest to die or even lose a significant amount of money. So people saying they'll never do the heist again because the easiest, most boring way to do it has been removed are really cracking me the f*ck up right now. If you insist on putting all four guys in a car, just steal a police car or riot van; the former won't give you perfect takes and the latter is slow, but both of them are nearly as safe and easy as the Kuruma overall.

Drama queens, I swear.

It's only R* who can say how the game should be played, some people just agree with them. Everything in between is opinion.

As for the Sandbox thing, GTA free roam (and the jobs missions within it) can be described as sandbox, I do not think the scripted missions/heist can be be labelled as sandbox though otherwise you could approach them in any way you see fit.

Also what's the JuniorChupp all about...

A typo?

A friendly take the mickey out of my name to soften the opposing points of view we have?

Or a flat out take the mickey out of my username because we disagree?

Rockstar always patch in steps. They take a target and patch what they can easily first but they ALWAYS double up the fix or come back for more on that target. At the very least they will change the timing on the close app glitch. Imho they are convinced they can fix it after working on the race betting. Hence this first step.

Well you "recover sensitive information" for the IAA and they pay you 500k, not just steal the take.

But on topic, I can't wait to test this out. I haven't done it the proper way before. The Kuruma method was a think when I started playing and since then it became the main method.

The logical reason? Accessing your private property during the middle of one of the largest manhunts in the history of Los Santos would be incredibly stupid for a real criminal. Even going NEAR your property would be stupid. If we're going to analyze this as if anything in GTA is realistic (which of course it's not), going into your own garage and driving a car registered to you after robbing a bank and stealing over a million dollars is about as f*cking dumb as any YouTube video of a criminal getting stuck in a vent trying to break into a store at night, or whatever. It would be an *asinine* thing to do. The bike escape doesn't make any sense to begin with, but using your personal vehicle from your personal garage is even dumber.

Basically, yeah, there's no real limitations on any freemode job regarding what tools you can use.

I'm honestly of the opinion that enabling pegasus vehicles in Heists would be a huge mistake, I just wish that stealth was a tactical option in the missions.

I've played the bikes to death. Bikes are boring as f*cking sh*t. I don't care if you can get a full take using bikes. So can I. It's not hard, it's tedious.

It's not even about the kuruma. I don't care. Sometimes I want to escape on a faggio. Can't do that now. Escape in an issi, movie style? Nope. Not unless you get lucky and find one.

Restricting gameplay is stupid. People who defend it are dumb. If you want there to be only one way to complete everything, watch a movie. Games are supposed to be fun.

Just wear the heavy vest outfit and search up a YouTube video of best Pac Standard bike routes. I know two main routes (with a number of small variations) that will keep you off-road for 90% of the drive and keep the police off your back. You should NEVER die during the drive unless you are comically awful on a bike, and you should only lose maybe 50K unless you crash. We've actually had a few perfect takes using these routes, on the bikes.

You'd have a point if there weren't a million other things to do in GTA. If you don't like the movie-style scripting of heists, do ANYTHING else. Yes it would be ideal if heists had more flexibility in them, but that's the tradeoff you make to play an exciting scripted mission (at least it's exciting the first few times). You have many other options though, and most of them are more flexible than heists as well, so get over it. It's not the end of the world.

And by the way, you still have a lot of choice on heists. The route on the bikes is not scripted - you don't need to follow the checkpoints at all. And you don't even have to use the bikes! Steal a car off the street, steal a cop car, steal a riot van.

LOL @ the Faggio comment, too. You'd miss the timer to make it to the boat by, oh, about 5 minutes I think. It's a joke anyway. I have played this heist so many times and never saw people doing it "in style" in weird, random cars. It was always the Kuruma, and that's all people are crying about in this thread. As if the bikes are boring but the Kuruma isn't! You're bulletproof and literally three of the four players just sit there, nudging their controllers every few minutes so they don't time out during the drive. It's dull as dishwater, and no one would ever do that if there weren't so much money at stake.

Humane Labs... Hydra + Insurgent + Valkirie - about $7 mln :) and profit is about $0.5 mln as i remember correctly.

Well you "recover sensitive information" for the IAA and they pay you 500k, not just steal the take.

But on topic, I can't wait to test this out. I haven't done it the proper way before. The Kuruma method was a think when I started playing and since then it became the main method.

It's time to lose a whole lotta take and die a whole lotta times.

Use the swat vans and follow the freeway, but don't tell anyone that i told you about this "glitch"

Well, the heist update is now dead to me. R*, once again, patching anything fun and creative.

I'm not gonna drive stupid f*cking bikes. I'm not an idiot.

LMFAO at these people :D

LMAO at you. It wasn't a glitch. Now, people are gonna glitch. All my heist friends have started duping, and have made more in the last few minutes than this heist ever gave.

...which just proves the point that this had nothing at all to do with "fun and creativity" but only with how much money you could make. Please.

You mean do the thing I said I would do in my first f*cking post? You know, quitting heists? Thanks for the advice pal...

This would have annoyed me a year ago when I was still playing PS finale. I/E is my bread and butter which doesn't rely on everyone staying alive or using much ammo.
