Although I miss the easy money from the PACS grinding, I think it's a good thing they fixed the kuruma/apartment glitch.

Since December a lot of new players started playing GTA Online.

And to be honest... PACS is a lot more fun on bikes. So actually it's a pity when new players only get to know the heist with a kuruma...

Had quite some fun with it last couple of days. Before the fix, no-one even had the chance to step on a bike, since someone would get his Kuruma.

Now, most people step on the bikes, or try to steal a police car or something. A lot of f*ck ups, but also a lot of fun on the way.

For grinding with friends, you still can get an armoured van to get the job done without losing much money...

What kept me going was the absolute giddyness of some that are just happy that others can't play the game way they want. I can't wrap my head around that.

Then others like you raise a valid point--if everyone is doing the Kuruma method (not like you can ride a bike after they blow them up), it was becoming harder and harder to join a finale and find people who would ride the bikes, making this now obsolete. Another thing I can't wrap my head around is doing it with randumbs anyway. Got that beat out of me eons ago, but more power to those of you that can. I don't know how some of those players dress themselves in the morning.

I do think what they did stinks, but I guess I really don't because i wasn't planning on using the Kuruma to complete the heist anymore, I just got bored of it. I do think they did players who used real money to buy a Kuruma specifically for this purpose dirty, You know there are new players who signed up in December who did exactly this. So, my take really is about principle more than feeling personally screwed.

We even disagree on the principle of it

It's been emotional RFB, I'll keep the popcorn handy 'cos I will still be tempted to read this thread as new posts appear.

I just tried it with three randoms (high-level as well) that couldn't pour water out of a bucket if the instructions were pasted on the bottom. Sticking to friends/crew mates going forward.

funny that you mention randoms dressing themselves since the majority need help to buy a heavy utility vest. In a way I like the fact that the PS heist is more challenging now, it's even more boring to sit in the Armored truck but when we use the bikes it can be exciting and faster than the Kuruma way.

From what I've seen so far the only difference is no one asks the host "who's getting the Kuruma?", now we just ask "are we killing the hostages for the SWAT truck? Or are we biking? ...Or some other way?"

The end result is the same, we get to the boat with the majority of the money and drive away wealthy. Just saying I don't think R* deterred anyone from making fast cash by locking the apartment, in fact now new players that start heisting have much less to invest in their heist so they can save a million and immediately start profiting off the fastest way, using the bikes, or the easiest way.... the completely bulletproof Armored truck.

I have a feeling the heist will be "patched" again if their plan is to only allow us to escape on bikes.

Well and that certainly was a large part of the contention regarding this debate. People kept insisting that this change was because Rock Star "intended for us to use the bikes." But if that were true, you would be stopped from getting a Noose truck or a cop car and doing it, so we know that isn't the whole story.

But if that were true, you would be stopped from getting a Noose truck or a cop car and doing it, so we know that isn't the whole story.

but it is true that the plan is to escape on bikes, the setup and narrative clearly point that out. I think that part of the debate is more about having the choice to follow instructions or choose your own way, like every other mission, setup & heist.

As someone who enjoys making missions I can tell you I'm 93.8% positive the initial design of the PS finale didn't force us to ride the bikes. If it did we would need to at least get to the next yellow waypoint on the bikes. The bike waypoint is like a regroup marker similar to the first waypoint in Convoy setup where you wait for others to arrive, only you have to wait for the group to mount a bike or blow them up to move on to the next objective, thus proving the bikes have no importance to the completion. Once every player is on a bike or they're destroyed the bikes are forgotten by the objectives, probably because it would be hell to have 4 player objectives to bring bikes to the next waypoint since the objective is robbing a bank, not stealing bikes.

IMO the whole story isn't written until the end. The armored trucks could vanish, other changes could be made. Who knows with R*, I'm not worried though, I like riding bikes more than anything else in this game so I'm in love with this heist again thanks to this silly patch.

Yeah, you are probably the leader of Club Schadenfreude. I can't imagine be so giddy that this has been patched and it ruins the game for some. You even celebrated it on your avatar. Strange dude indeed.

I never denied to anyone both in real life or on the internet i am not strange, but that does not mean i should be disregarded as a mere assclown who's opinions are(always) trash. :p

Edit: besides that, it is in my name, i embraced what you call schadenfreude, the tears of the people in this thread just give me energy :D

How anyone can be surprised of this is beyond me :)

My crew always used the bikes when we did this, and usually walked away with the full take.

It's not that hard, once you know the off-road shortcuts. In the first part of the route, you can avoid most of the rubberbanding cops by driving on the grass through Martin's ranch. Also, as you approach the park, watch for a bridge with a truck trailer next to it. You can drop down to a path that leads to the tunnel, avoiding that dangerous 180 degree turn.

No sane person would deny it's entirely do-able with the motorcycles, but it's more of an issue with people who have little choice but to play with random strangers.

I've tried the Pacific Standard finale quite a lot of times with random players but I cannot for the life of me remember the last time (if it ever happened) that the team succeeded when using the motorcycles. The success rate with anything but a Kuruma or Insurgent (police car, noose van, civilian car) was only around 60% or so because too many times the other players wouldn't bother getting in. Not sure if they were so sure of themselves that they could drive all the way to the end or that they simply didn't think of the possibility that there might be other ways of getting there.

Also, by the tunnel I'm assuming you mean the train tunnel that takes you to near the saw mill in Paleto Forest? If so then yes, that's a good option. I mean you can go straight for the boat and that's possible but the cops like to ram players and that fetish of theirs doesn't go away when you're on a narrow canyon road. So if you can get past the police officers on the mountain I would also recommend going directly to the forest before making your way to the jump checkpoint.

I expect them to remove the mechanic altogether during heists in the very near future, since thats no different from accessing your garage, & you can still call him in the prison break, for example.

Makes no sense to disable it for one heist, but not others. Then the next wave of cringe-inducing outrage will begin..

For grinding with friends, you still can get an armoured van to get the job done without losing much money...

Obliging new players to do it in a certain way is good. For them!

How about letting them do contact missions only as a grind method, so they know in 2017 how things were in 2013? What a privilege :catspider:

Play fifty contact missions to unlock VIP missions.

A hundred for MC activities.

Hundred fifty for CEO special crates.

Two hundred for MC businesses.

Two hundred and fifty for exporting cars.

Three hundred for heists.

Wouldn't that be fun? That'd be the last you'll have seen of rank five players joining your Pacific Standard lobby.

I don't know how some of those players dress themselves in the morning.

funny that you mention randoms dressing themselves since the majority need help to buy a heavy utility vest. In a way I like the fact that the PS heist is more challenging now, it's even more boring to sit in the Armored truck but when we use the bikes it can be exciting and faster than the Kuruma way.

The end result is the same, we get to the boat with the majority of the money and drive away wealthy.

300k dollars is wealthy?

wealthier, you know what I mean, we walk away with the money! :p

It was nice while it lasted but please stop whining now. Play it the right way or leave it be. Not complicated.

This post is awesome and you should feel awesome. I agree 100%. Bikes are more fun IMO. Play with a sense of danger.

I like that. You and I could be really wicked in hazardous situations.

For some people even acknowledging the fact that abusing the infinite replay exploit can get you banned is too complicated to understand.

Be careful with those words around here, you might offend a lot of exploi- I mean, legit players.

They're gonna say "Well you can't tell ME how to play MY GAME" or "Rockstar left it for TWO YEARS for a REASON" or "Rockstar let's you in the RIOT VAAAAAN, why not the KURUUUUUMA??!?"

Trust me, this thread is just getting worse and worse as the days roll on. But I agree with you. 100%.

I don't heist with randoms. Never did. Sometimes you have to play smart...even if you're not.

But you still don't have to use the bikes, you can steal a car.

Not true.

You can't be banned for closing the application whenever you feel like it...

That would really suck, if I got banned because my girlfriend pulls out the cable if I play too long ;-)
