Commander S
One thing I would be interested to know about the company is how it handles things like crunch - and also if Benzies is taking this fresh start as an opportunity to do things differently to the R* days, rather than replicating the same culture anew. After all, while he did cite things like the toxic culture at R* as part of his lawsuit, several people pointed out at the time that it was a bit rich, considering that he was part of the inner circle at that time himself, and thus either had a hand in creating that culture, or didn't use his position to do anything about it. At the very least, if you're going to put the blame on the Housers and their clique, and say 'not my doing!', then when you've got the opportunity to set up your own outfit, it'd be wise to demonstrate that by having your new company be a shining example of how to do things better. Or, if there's any possibility that you were part of a seedy environment at your old company, what better way to show you've changed and do things differently now, than ...doing things differently, now - ? So far, it looks good - but nevertheless, some folk having good experiences doesn't preclude the possibility that others aren't. It'd be good to know that that's the norm across the company - we're at a point in time where devs are thankfully speaking up about things they might have just kept to themselves in years past, and the industry is making improvements in fits and starts. As a newer company, BaRB has the opportunity to build a better culture from the ground up - and I really hope they take it, just like I hope other companies are making good on a lot of the assurances they've given to the press about how they're trying to improve. pingli
I do wonder what game engine they are going to use and are they gonna self publish or get under some big publisher. So many questions yet not really any answers, can't wait to learn more about this project. MightyMax

Jason
Honestly unless Amazon are juicing the studio I wouldn't be at all surprised if when they finally reveal the game they announce it's running on Unreal Engine 4 / 5 or something. Specifically when it comes to multiplayer - which, considering Everywhere is supposed to be an online game, isn't ideal...: Green Man Gaming: "Lumberyard game engine blamed for Amazon Game Studios lay-offs" It's especially damning when Amazon Game Studios has now started letting the in-house team use other engines - and the description of trying to build new features into it while also developing games (like "driving a train while the tracks were still being laid", to quote the article) sounds all-to-similar to how Hangar 13 devs described trying to upgrade the Mafia II engine while simultaneously making Mafia III with it. At this rate, I'd put good money on a switch - and yeah, Unreal would make a lot of sense, all things considered. Jason and MightyMax

Commander S
10 hours ago, MightyMax said: John Linden is the CEO of Mythical Games, and their big thing is blockchain integration, specifically in things like in-game marketplaces. Their current game project is Blankos Block Party (a party game/creative sandbox thing, similar to something like Roblox), which seems to exist as much as a proof-of-concept for their blockchain-based systems as anything. So I'm guessing that them using an Everywhere tour bus might be because BaRB are toying with the idea of using that kind of system for, say, players selling their own user-generated assets to other players (which is putting me even more in mind of things like All Points Bulletin and Second Life). jacson and MightyMax
