What guns do the Prison guards use?

Recommended Posts

My question refers to GTA V online

Ive found a few different answers to this, most leaning towards the Carbine and Special Carbine Rifles...but heres why I ask:

I recently played through the Prison Break Heist as a part of someone-elses Heist, and was selscted to be the Prisoner Crew member. I have played through this Heist quite a few times, but never as the Prisoner before now.

So you get an Automatic Pistol as the Prisoner (AP Pistol) and that's pretty much it, so as soon as the opportunity arose I killed a guard and took his Automatic weapon, and heres where I got a bit confused.

This gun appeared to be none of the in-game rifles and I really liked it...Now Ive been playing GTA V online and offline for a little while and I know all of the regular guns, this thing looked different, sounded different, and felt completely different to the normal weapons you can buy from Ammunation.

It was an automatic rifle, that sounded very loud like the AK replica, and also seemed to have a fair bit of recoil, but was quite small. It resembled the SMG more than the other guns, having a very small or skinny frame-like arm support / stock, but the business end of the weapon was a lot fatter than the SMG. I am posistive I have not seen this gun in the game before.

It caught my attention as SOON as I started firing with it - it felt different to the others. So I had a little google around and the Wiki information pages say the enforcement officers favour the Special Carbine. But I am 100 percent sure it wasnt .

I took my character to the Ammunation shop and removed some of the suppressors from my weapons to have a look but nothing seemed to match.

I had another look online and found the closest thing to what I am trying to describe is the Hekler and Kosh MP5

When I saw this pic I was 100% sure that was 'the' gun I used in that Heist, or a replica of it!

Let me know what you guys think, I may be mistaken but as i said Ive played this game a while now and know the weapons pretty well, this gun Instantly caught my attention as being different.

If you play the Heist, go as the Prisoner, and I would have grabbed this weapon off one of the guards along the mission route, maybe from down in the yard/open area when you go back down the steps. I remember that in the yard there was a Blue Blip to retrieve Ratchovsky...I pretty much made a b-line for that once on the ground.

I didn't actually realise I had it equipped until after meeting the prisoner and fighting across the yard, when I popped up to fire I was literally blown away by this little gun and how it felt!. The weapon I picked up off the first guards was a shotgun! so I was expecting something a lot different!

Most search results will say that the enforcement officers like to use the Special Carbine, handgun, and shotgun. I am posisitve it was none of these weapons. It felt like the AK if anything but looked different

I want this gun on the game but I cant find it, or any reference to it.

Guards at the front gate usually spawn with Carbine Rifles as they're scripted to spawn there, Guards that spawn dynamically inside the prison (And don't have any dots just to f*ck with you) spawn with the Assault Rifle, and last but not least the guards in the watch towers obviously use the standart Sniper Rifle, mind you this is all in freeroam. The reason they use the Submachine guns in the Heist is to balance out the fact that NPCs are pretty good shots and meanwhile they mostly shoot in burst fire they occasionally use a rapid fire animation which is a big f*ck you.

Oh also the weapon you're describing is the genericly named ''SMG''.

Yeah thanks, i did say about the SMG, it was the most similar one I could find...so I took mine back to ammunation and removed the suppressor, and it just werent the same as that one in the heist. I dont think this was a standard Ammunation gun
