Meh. Am I the only one who actually hates boating in this game? Particularly in the ocean. Personally I have no desire whatsoever for a boating dlc...

Smuggler’s Run Part 2, but instead of naming hundreds of planes and helicopters, I want to see what could be improved and innovated.

 

Firstly, having the ability to purchase a second Hangar. This will double our aircraft storage and cargo storage.

 

Next, adding improvements to our existing aircraft: Giving the Bombushka heavy armour, so it can compete with the Avenger; giving the Volatol heavy bombs and smart bombs; adding an extended winch to the Cargobob, giving all Pegasus aircraft the basic performance upgrades,  countermeasures and additional liveries and so on.

 

New freemode work/activities for some vehicles and flight school lessons. The ability to turn on/off our aircraft’s engine and lights during flight. Autopilot for all aircraft and being able to change seats.

Airplane stunt races. I guess they kind of already exist. But I want a Cunning Stunts for aircraft, with aerobatic planes, race planes, a good variety. Throw a stealth fighter in there so R* makes money. And add 10 more storage slots to the hangar.

Why?

-Extremely overlooked. There only have been 4 unique boats released as DLC. One of those returns from a past game and is literally a copy-paste of a boat prop down the docks, and another one is a submarine. Then there were 5 yacht variations of existing boats, added with E&OC and a random copy-paste Dinghy added with Heists. There is a ton of cars and aircraft in the game, and less than 20 boats (if we're speaking unique boats; only 13, non-subs; only 11) in the game.

-The game a has beautiful, highly detailed, seafloor. Yet no incentive to go and check it out. No missions, no hidden collectibles. We have a selection of very expensive scuba suits, it would be nice to put them to more use besides messing with friends, that not everybody has, ones that are into boats and the sea anyway.
-We've had a ton of DLC's dedicated to land content/activities. DLC's dedicated to military stuff. DLC dedicated to aircraft. It's about time the sea and watercraft get a chance. And at least it'd be bringing something new.
 

What could be done with it?

-Sure, one could argue that there is nothing on the ocean. And why do you think people go boating irl? Rockstar could easily add small islands, the aircraft carrier, oil rigs, barges from the Torpedo prep. Some kind of detail on the sea, basically. Expand Business Battles to there. Make us dive for stuff, steal boats and ships with cargo. Freemode races on the coast. On-the-sea nightclub promotion activities even though it probably makes no sense. Basically; add activities on the water. I mean, nobody was bitching that we had nothing to do in the sky and we got Smuggler's Run, why should the boats and the sea be any different?

-There is a ton of watercraft that could be added. From customizable versions of existing boats (like the Jetmax, it's as if it was made with this in mind!), to completely new customizable boats. You could recycle designs from older games; Speeder from GTA III (if fits perfectly in the game, by the way, screenshots below!), Squalo (Retro?) and Rio from GTA VC, Violator and Yola from GTA VCS, a selection of boats from Max Payne 3 which don't even require much effort to add since they're set up the same way GTA vehicles are. Bring back boats from GTA IV maybe - Reefer, Floater, Smuggler, Blade? Make a civilian version of the Police Predator. Add weaponized boats like a Weaponized Dinghy, or something memey like the Loochador in Just Cause 3. If you're really looking for the potential types of boats/designs (and that's not even all of them), enjoy.

-Aside from various boats for various collections and purposes, the real Vortex please (or the Bovver'64 since Vortex was ruined forever), a hovercraft basically - the hover technology is in the game and it's just waiting to be used for something that isn't meme sh*t. Hell they could even add a helicopter into the mix, another luxury/military helicopter will do as if we didn't have enough already, if a unique helicopter type is too much to ask for. And some cars, preferably related to the DLC theme, because Grand Purchase Auto and all that. Basically Smuggler's Run except with focus on watercraft instead of aircraft.

-New property: Decommissioned Oil Rigs. Doesn't require much effort or excuses to adding them. Just slap a few copy paste rigs around the map, put them on Foreclosures, and call it a day. The usual thing, start collect cargo missions, store the cargo there, and sell from it. Can be used to store your custom boats too - including existing Pegasus boats, now freely paintable at least - up to 20 of them.

-Fetch quests set on the sea, and under it, can even be on land. On small islands, on the mainland, in the swamp, at the docks, underwater north of Paleto etc. Travel time if you're given a boat might be problematic so maybe it should be restricted to the proximity of your rig. Same with sell missions. Potential sale missions (copy-pasting from one of my earlier posts): Tug/Tug Custom/some fast cargo boat for large sales, a speedboat (Jetmax? Squalo Classic?) for small shipments/drugs, armored/weaponized boat for deliveries where you're going to get attacked by Merryweather or whoever, land deliveries with the real Vortex/some other amphibious vehicle, luxury boat with premium goods delivering to a yacht off the coast. etc.

-This point is only here to see if people are actually reading all this: the too long didn't read at the end of this post is a lie, I just want to see who's reading and who's lazy, so if you're blowing up on me for saying fake news then you got yourself to blame, should have read this first. And as usual don't mind the logos on the screens, I put them there for the fun. Remember, when it comes to leaks, always make sure what you're reading is a fact. Happy early holidays! Insert yee emoji here. Though to be fair I'm trying to make a boat DLC mod, so that's kinda true in the end I guess? I dunno lol

-Make an aircraft carrier a property? idk, for additional aircraft and watercraft storage I guess maybe. people want one, so.

-Yacht additions. One boat/car storage space? Ability to start Sea Cargo missions from it? Gun locker? Ability to anchor the Sea Sparrow, Dodo, Seabreeze, etc to it? Fixing the damn ladders? There's so much that could be done to the yacht to not only improve it, but to also make it worth visiting more often and make some people feel like they finally got their money's worth.

-Bogdan as the contact. Makes sense. He was a commander of a submarine. He lost his crew and the submarine. Now he's a traitor in Russia and a criminal in the US. So I guess he remained a criminal and got settled in San Andreas. And I'm sure many people would love to see Bogdan and his piping dreams again. inb4 "muh heist appearance", didn't stop Agent 14 from helping us run the Bunker.

-Speaking of submarines.. a sea MOC? Would be neat to own a full-size submarine, y'know. A big armored boat could work too, but a submarine feels like a better hide-the-interior-under-the-map option.

-Maybe an additional storyline with Bogdan and a new character? Something like Covert Ops/Special Vehicle missions, or Lamar missions, maybe a mini-heist?

-With diving comes treasure. What I'm saying is; add a treasure hunt that takes you underwater. Find a sunken relic from RDR2 or something.

 

Additional

-Fix the Jetmax, jfc, how the hell did they not see all the bugs with it this entire decade.

-Spawnable Sea Sparrow from the CEO menu. How hard it is dammit?

-The water desync issues are a myth, and they're only as bad as standing on top of trucks or the flatbed in a Gunrunning resupply mission. Change my mind. (No, seriously, we tested it)

tl;dr - boat DLC is coming soon.

It will be funny if we actually got all of this in a boat dlc plus i want vortex, and a nuclear sub that fires missles that can be driven around not like the yacht or carrier where its just static or add the option to buy the aircraft carrier as well. :)

Same - considering how I'd never use an oil rig, aircraft carrier, offshore base or whatever Gunrunning-esque thing, and the majority of things to do in the game take place on land, boats really just feel like a less efficient way of getting around the outside of the map. If planes didn't exist, that'd probably be more efficient, but as it is, hopping into even a regular ol' Maverick is more efficient - and boats are way less satisfying for relaxed cruising than a good daily driver, IMO.

 

 

For my potential favourite DLC idea, it'd probably involve a new line of Freemode work, doable in any kind of session (not just public!), combining bits of all of these:

....Is there even a pizza place in Los Santos? I don't remember seeing one.... but it would be nice to get an update where we can buy even more legitimate businesses.... only pure legit this time. Pizza place, Burgershot, Clucking Bell.....

@WildBrick142 basically laid it all out already, but an Aquatic update please. Custom boats, submersibles, and amphibious firearms. I can see it as a DDH style DLC or Smugglers Run-esque...or even I/E come to think of it.

 I would hope they would utilize their shark assets from single player too, maybe even enlarge them for certain scenarios (Jaws!)

  They could create Merryweather combat divers, roaming pirates, and rival treasure hunters as npc enemies for new aquatic missions. Salvaging treasure and other valuables, yacht robbing, underwater demolitions, body/toxic waste dumping, hunt endangered species, attacking/sinking/searching yachts, aircraft carriers, cargo ships, cargo planes, ect.

   The way I see it, submarines should be off radar unless another player has a sonar upgrade for their boat, sub, or amphibious aircraft (not for Deluxos of Oppressors!) Other upgrades for aquatic combat would be torpedoes, depth charges (works like aircraft bombing), homing missiles, and lock on machine guns.

   Also, I would add a diver propulsion vehicle to the interaction menu.

   Personally, I'm against personal aircraft carriers, I'd rather see submersible yachts some other aquatic MOC. Like an M80 Stiletto with drone capabilities, or a floating mansion

Add animals underwater, then we talk about a Water DLC. Ocean has always been an empty and boring place to explore in Online. Knowing that there are sharks out there and other things that can attack you randomly would be epic.

Yeah... it's almost like thats exactly the reason why people want better boats and subs huh? So they are more efficient, faster and more enjoyable then they are now. Its just like with planes before Smugglers Run.

For example I used Stormberg only once. Its so slow underwater that its totally pointless.   

Also you do realize that with your logic I could say the same things about cars, right?  "We don't need another cars dlc since planes are more efficient and flying is more satisfying then driving IMO."

When it comes to boats they rly should take inspiration from Just Cause 3 DLCs. Every boat has a boost and its at least 2-3x faster then the ones from gta

I'm done with GTAO. This year's been quite a disappointment (from my perspective). Meme vehicles and armored vehicles, which are worse than the older ones and a few "normal" vehicles (screwed up by advanced flags...)? If I were a 10YO, I might have enjoyed that, however... The Sea / Boat / Naval themed DLC sounds like a nice idea after all, though I didn't like it in the first place.

Like I said, it was just my opinion/personal taste - and to expand on the last part, I find the feel of boats in GTA V unsatisfying, even compared to other games with them (although I'm not bothered quite as much as my ex-radio officer friend, who just gets pedantic about how "boats/water don't work like that!" whenever they watch me play...). So for me, a faster version of the same physics really wouldn't do it for me.

 

But in general, I just want more everyday, street-level cars, clothes, activities - again, getaway driver/wheelman stuff, affordable-IRL 'enthusiast' muscle/sports cars, some varied 'high street' clothes/hairdos, and stuff that's a bit more grounded than combat/luxury/exotic vehicles, camo gear (or just palette-swaps with crappy textures), and a mixture of UPS/Bond villain gameplay. It just bugs me that at this rate, we're more likely to see this added to GTAO than this - and even the TBoGT-esque update just had to include Gunrunning-style stuff, plus more of the UPS stuff bolted on to the nightclubs.

An update that actually fixes all the glitches and stuff that needs fixing. Stuff like wallbreaches, the orbital cannon glitch, the akula lock-on mishap and the obvious other miscellaneous stuff like off radar, god mode glitches, etc. Oh and the removal and extreme termination of those f*cking advanced flags. I'd also like features to be introduced such as the ability be able to put pearlescent on any paint job with no restrictions whatsoever, a completely re-hauled coloring system, minor updates to older vehicles and lastly less restriction on clothes. 

 

Now as im sure some people have read this lemme be perfectly clear that I have absolutely 0 f*cking hopes that Rockstars lazy asses will do even 1% of this. Not because they can't but because they simply seem to not give 2 sh*ts of a f*ck about actually fixing stuff that needs to be fixed.

Plus, with inevitable action and targets being offshore, things on main island, particularly airspace, could become a good deal less crowded. A Naval DLC is basically a "map expansion light"; everybody would profit, even those hating boats in the first place.

 

Tough call to make for R* of course, publishing something 90% of player base could end up actually being happy with, but I'm sure they can do that. 👍

Would it be possible now after the night clubs add on where we can customize our delivery vehicles to add a garage to the biker clubhouse so we can customize those delivery vehicles in a similar way? Would love to see this feature would throw biker work right back on top again for me,also a new business bikes import export work would add more depth

Unlikely since Rockstar doesn't like adding to old stuff but not impossible. I'd love that too tbh.

I think if we get an underwater facility, it's going to have to be based on Atlantis.

 

I imagine they could do it just like the yachts, with 36 different "parking spots" around the map. I'd put them a bit further out to sea than the yachts, though. Imagine if the submersible facility could be surfaced or submerged at will by calling its phone contact, moving vertically within its parking spot. If it's underwater, you can enter it with the Stromberg, a sub, or scuba gear; on the surface, you can land a helicopter or dock a boat.

Some of you remember me from posting the Update Concept for the 'Outrun Overdrive Update' earlier this year.

 

Since then I've been hard at work creating a new concept, one I think the community is going to be excited to see...
