KingDong
I have a terrible 4:3 1280x1024 monitor and i wont have money to get a better one for awhile. Whenever i try to put the game in fullscreen 1280x720 it stretches to my monitors native no other games do this though, Other games just gives me black bar like in movies. I cant do windowed because it looks choppy even though im getting 60FPS. Native 1280x1024 for some odd reason takes away 15-25FPS, sitting at the airport in native res i get 35fps but in windowed 720p i get 60fps and over. I have a RX 460 and i have all that preserve aspect ratio stuff on, I dont know what to do because this is the only game not giving me black bars. Can i do something like getting a program to make my monitors resolution 1280x720 when i launch GTAV or something? not really fond of having my resolution always 1280x720 especially when browsing the internet. Any ideas? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/880465-fullscreen-1280x720-stretching/ Share on other sites
JanyaGalactic
you could temporarily change that in windows resolution settings, right click on desktop (most of the windowses) and screen resolution or if you got win 10 try to find similar function in settings menu or control panel and set the resolution to 1280x720. this will create the 720p with black bars on screen and since its easy change you can reset it after playing. HaRdSTyLe_83
there is one option that says aspect ratio, selecting 16:9 should do the trick Native 1280x1024 for some odd reason takes away 15-25FPS, sitting at the airport in native res i get 35fps but in windowed 720p i get 60fps and over. more pixels means more work for the Gpu, its not odd, its more then normal Edited January 30, 2017 by HaRdSTyLe_83 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/880465-fullscreen-1280x720-stretching/#findComment-1069376354 Share on other sites
ngazi
Last time I used an AMD/ATi card, the driver came with a tray icon and profiles. That's the fastest way to change your desktop resolution. If you look for multiple monitor management software you can probably find some lightweight software that does what you ask for or otherwise make it faster. But I haven't used one in ages since drivers and Windows have been doing it better for me. By the way the game can run in lower 4:3 resolutions but your monitor is a 5:4. You'd have to change your desktop resolution either way unless the game had a lower 5:4 resolution. FulVal85
1280x720 it's a 16:9 resolution, so that stretch it's normal, and 1280x1024 it's 5.4 and not 4:3 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/880465-fullscreen-1280x720-stretching/#findComment-1069383301 Share on other sites
