Drive-Bys Are Overpowered.

You know when your cruising your Banshee down the street and next minute a Sharks, Cholo or Bikers gang member randomly turns up and ERADICATES you car! LITERALLY ERADICATES it! You can also hear how much faster they fire when they are being fired put of a car compared to when they are fired on foot. Why are Drive-Bys so overpowered??

I like the random drivebys though. They actually make you feel like you're being hunted by the gangs whose business you took over and it adds a whole nother layer of excitement to the game. After all, it isn't like a gang is just gonna leave you be after you take over their business and kill their members.

Vice City criminal

I think they did that to build a feeling of tension or uneasiness if you didn't conquer all their properties yet.
you could try getting bulletproof cars from missions if you find it really annoying.

Nah man I finished the game ages ago and conquered all of the empires so drive-bys aren't actually a problem, I was just wondering why they were so -deadly. Plus, if a drive-by did occur, I have bulletproof cars parked at all my empire sites ;)

I think the reason they're so deadly is partially because of the PSP, and the nature of some of the missions. The first time you meet Lance, he's driving while you're shooting, and the UZI shoots incredibly fast to compensate for the fact that aiming is going to be a pain in the ass to do, which makes moving the reticle from left to right while holding down the fire button a viable way to kill enemies.

Of course, friendlies/enemies have the same rate of fire you do while doing drive-bys.

I wish there was something like this in San Andreas or even V. Just imagine hangout in Grove street, and out nowhere a balla car just starts spraying you with bullets. San Andreas had a drive by AI for the gang wars, but it wasn't random like VCS.

It happens in SA when you owe money to someone for - two calls I think - that's 2min+. You can get debts in the casino.

SanAndreas is the complete opposite. Machine pistols shoot way slower during drive-bys.

In Vicecitystories however they shoot like miniguns. Might be a error in the weapon handlings.

I think the rate of fire during the drive-by almost ruined the game.

if R* wanted fast firing rate for more fun or whatever, at least they should have decreased the accuracy.

Nah. The drive-by's are cool.

And, as for me, they are performed way better then in SA.

In SA drive-by vehicle attacks you only once during a gang war and you don't take any serious damage, simply because of slow rate of fire.

In VCS it's actually works as effective hit and run tactics. Plus it gives players motivation to keep their lazy asses alert and don't get too comofortable.

same power as a minigun, youll just drive around and out of nowhere the sharks do a drive by and in seconds your vehicle blows up
