Rocket Voltic has disappeared

Recommended Posts

Hi, long time lurker here. I hope this sort of thing is allowed, and that I'm posting in the correct area.

TL;DR:

I purchased a Rocket Voltic and it has completely and totally disappeared. I've submitted a ticket with Rockstar; it's been in "open" status for 13 days. I've tweeted @RockstarSupport, although it appears that account is just a bot. Does anyone know how I can possibly get this car back, or the money credited to my character?

DETAILS:

I bought the Rocket Voltic for the SecuroServ trade-in price of $2,880,000 in December. I had it for a few weeks. Around the January 10, I noticed that it is 100% gone. It's not in the basement of my vehicle warehouse. I purchased a Ramp Buggy before the Voltic; it's still fine. I can't request it through the Interaction Menu (Menu > Vehicles > Request special vehicle). The interaction menu tells me I need to purchase it from Warstock. It's not impounded or destroyed. It's as if the game has completely forgotten that I purchased the Voltic and erased it from my character.

I submitted a ticket to Rockstar through the appropriate channel claiming the loss. On January 13, a "Tier 1" customer service employee replied and said they were unable to verify the loss, and that I should reply with further information that could help. I don't have any screenshots of the car, but I submitted a lengthy reply with details like when I bought it, what customizations I put on it, etc. I even let them know that there are other players who can vouch for me, although I doubt they will consider that. I don't have any concrete proof that I owned the car, but I absolutely did. I don't take screenshots of every car I own... It's now been 10 days since my followup and the ticket is still in "Open" status with no further responses from Rockstar.

Essentially, roughly $3,000,000 has been wiped from my account, if you consider the price of the car and the price of the maximum upgrades I put on it. This is a very expensive car...! I would buy another one if it were cheap, but that is one of the most expensive vehicles in the game and mine has disappeared. I shouldn't have to buy another one though, regardless of price.

I'm level 242 and I've played cleanly for years. I've never made any other claims like this. I know I'm probably screwed, but does anyone have any advice for me regarding how to get Rockstar to believe me and to compensate me for my lost car?

Thanks for reading.

I am really sorry if this sounds dumb but did you make sure that it's not destroyed at some moment so you would have to cal MMI to get it back? And if it's a defect from the game's end all we can do is wait for the support teams to reply. Try contacting through Facebook maybe. I do feel the pain. I know how hard it is to earn 3 million in GTA online.

Google the number and call rockstar. I lost 10 mil from the criminal mastermind when my game didnt save. I opened a ticket and got th usual reply to send proof so I did. Waited a day and no response. So I called and re explained what happened. Got back an email from an actual support tech from the proper department. I sh*t you not, 16 hours later I Logged back into gta and 10 mil was dropped into my account

It's OK. It's not destroyed; calling MMI does nothing. It's just gone. :/

Thanks for the suggestion. I didn't even think to call them, for some reason. Calling them now.

EDIT: The employee I spoke with on the phone said she couldn't find any evidence of the purchase, but that they are still investigating... I guess all I can do is hope they believe me...

if nothing happens after a couple days call back with your ticket number, explain it (politely ;)) and ask for a supervisor, the initial agent who answers has very little authority to do anything to help solve your problem. Once their investigation is complete they won't offer to escalate any further unless you ask them to. (By escalate I just mean get you speaking to someone with more authority who can do more to help).

I'd count it as a loss for now but once they're done looking into it if you explain every single detail to a supervisor they'll most likely refund you if your honest, persistent ***AND POLITE***, and bring all the proof you can find even if it doesn't prove it 100%, all they need to do is put 2 + 2 together.

You may have proof you don't even know about, for one you unlocked the discount by completing the mission, you may have a new high top speed (even though you can use someone else's car the time of the stat change could correlate with the date and time you unlocked the discount... Now we're closer to 2+2).

Or maybe you hit record replay by accident (if you use recording software) while driving it and saw the notification when it was destroyed, proving it is yours.... Who knows. Point is there's probably SOME proof of you having access to it, hopefully they'll find something like that before you need to find proof.

If you did buy it and the game saved after you bought it I wonder what would even happen if you attempted to buy it again. IMO you should get a notification that you already own it, but again... Who knows.

Curious to know the outcome

I was denied.

The game definitely saved after I bought it. I had it for a few weeks before it disappeared. It will allow me to buy it again; it's acting like I never purchased it at all.

Also, I did wind up having my support elevated to a supervisor. They still didn't believe me. I scoured through everything I could think of multiple times for even the smallest shred of proof, but I couldn't find anything besides what I mentioned in my original post.

Oh well. Rockstar really dropped the ball this time and I'm extremely disappointed in them.

Have you checked the basement of your car warehouse? The Rocket Voltic can't be stored in a regular garage. Sorry it took 2 years to reply. LOL

It's not in the basement of my vehicle warehouse.

What's the point of necrobumping this?
