Good as it might be. It won't touch a billion dollars in 3 days. GTAO will still reign supreme.

I actually think it will easily, but it won't sustain the sales for nearly as long. After a year or so I imagine the sales will drop of dramatically. GTAO will definitely make more money over time for sure.

You think it will easily surpass 1 billion dollars in 3 days? I would bet the farm it won't.

I do. I don't have a farm to bet though sorry. One thing is for sure, I am confident it will sell well, probably the best seller this holiday season unless a new COD or Battlefield comes out.

If it plays like GTA Online, with better features such as UI, movement, fighting, etc. It'll be head to head compared to GTAO.

Not money wise, possibly not, but player longevity, yes. I can easily see a "Gold bar" system or something along the lines of that. DLC could be limited to things such as "Debutante Living" or "Roughrider" DLC with heavier military weaponry being added.

Lmfao, let's not get too far ahead Malik...

Well then we will have a gentleman's bet.

I bet it won't come close.

I can't say I will be off completely.

My concern is weapons in R2R.

Gonna miss my assault rifles too much.

I didn't really get into the first one at all so no I won't give up on gtao.

Tbh there hasn't been a game released on PS4 that has been able to take my attention away from gtao for too long

Um... GTA V got that amount of revenue, not GTA Online. If you're going to be a fanboy, at least be an informed one and not talking out of your ass.

Please let me know how to purchase a separate copy of GTA Online.

Yeah.. exactly. Like somehow less people would have bought it if Online was included at launch.

I should add, RDR2 Online multiplayer would probably suck for people like me - racing enthusiasts whose shooting skills are abysmal.

What would the game offer people like that? Horse racing? lol.

Online wasn't available until two weeks after release, dude. GTA V got its billion in the first 3 days, don't be a bullsh*tter as well.

Wow that totally went over your head didn't it.. I was trying to make the point that they're one in the same. You can't play one without the other, Online was already attached with the game at launch, it was just unlocked via a title update two weeks later.

GTAV making 1billion in three days applies to Online as well even though it was available two weeks later. They're not separate entities no matter how hard R* tries to market them as.

Not going to play. I don't expect a PC version, and even if there's one, i will most like admire it from the distance as i did with RDR1.

I was trying to make the point...

And look at that, your point has made you look completely uneducated. You can't comprehend the most basic facts even if they're spoonfed to you because you'd rather have your head up your ass.

GTA V got released on 17th of September of 2013, it reached a billion dollar mark in sales revenue on 20th of September of 2013. Meanwhile, GTA Online didn't get released until 1st of October of 2013, meaning it took two weeks to open it up for play.

What does this conclude? GTA V was the main reason copies of GTA V sold well and was the only reason Rockstar hit a billion dollar revenue in 3 days, Online wasn't available then and nobody bought the game for Online then, they bought the copies to play GTA V and only GTA V in the first two weeks, Online was just the icing on the cake for the people who stayed playing after completing the story.

Do you need me to hammer it in some more or do you still want to look like an idiot?

Do you guys know how the pre-release marketing for GTAO was?

personally, i bought GTAV at release, but totally disregarded the Multiplayer until summer '16

I bet at least 80% of the hype were regarding SP, as GTA wasn't very popular for its multiplayer mode back then. As said, this discussion leads to knothing until we put together how GTAO was announced, described and reviewed before the release and slightly afterwards.

Not really sure if I'll even play RDR2 as I haven't played RDR1. And I'm kinda picky with games.

The trailer for GTA Online came out on August 15th. So almost exactly a month before the game was released.

Exactly this. We knew it would include an online feature long before it came out. If there was no online option whatsoever it wouldn't have made nearly as much.

Question is: What did we know about GTAO? And was that enough to produce hype for it?

As far as i know, GTA IV Multiplayer wasn't that popular to many people.

Online isn't the reason why GTA V raked in $1 billion in 3 days. GTA is known for its single player campaigns and people bought it for said single player.

And by saying this, I expect to be called all sorts of names by pathetic online fanboys.

I played it for 5 years. And I could tell from what limited knowledge was known as well as the trailer that it had way more customization and options than IV MP.

The 1st real trailer came out on Nov 2, 2011.

Which is the same kind of Trailer that Red Dead two had.. Just a quick look at the game.
