Just curious to know, what will you do when RDR2 comes out? Will you ditch GTA Online for good? Will you play RDR2 until you get your fill, then return to GTA Online? Will you skip RDR2 altogether? What do you think you will do when Red Dead Redemption 2 is released?

I'm pretty much done with GTA Online already, but I am interested in RDR2's multiplayer.

My GTAO focus has shifted but over the last four years its been one of the few games I keep going back to. I'm sure I'll stick to RDRO for a while after release but who can say if it'll make me set GTAO aside completely...

I'll still play GTA Online. I'm sure I'll want a break from the wild west every once in a while.

That'll largely depend on how good RDR2/RDR online is. I don't see it replacing GTA online though, the wildly different time periods will make the games different enough for me to still enjoy both.

Not sure what the Red Dead series has to do with GTA Online. I understand they're from the same publisher but they're different games with different focuses set in different time periods.

Chevrolet makes the $16k Cruze compact hatch, a $50k Silverado pickup truck and a $100K Corvette Stingray. Are those buyers the same just because they shop at the same dealership? I don't think it works that way.

Because of all the hype RDR2 gets I'm inclined to check it out, but not with the idea that it will replace GTA/succeed GTA. I view RDR2 like I would Overwatch or Battlefield 1. It's a different game.

I'm not going to abandon it per say, I'll just leave it for a while and take my time enjoying Red Dead Redemption 2's story before I venture into its own Online mode, I'll probably come back to either take more Snapmatics and/or play around with any new content.

In an another note, it fully depends on the state of RDR2 in its release, if it sucks and has the same rubbish start as GTAO was, I probably won't touch it for a couple of months and return to GTAO.

Well that isn't really a good comparision. None of those cars are similar, and they all cost vastly different amounts.

RDR and GTA are in fact very similar, and cost the same amount. They are indeed aimed at similar audiences. I remember when Redeption came out and everyone was calling it GTA in wild west.

Edit: I will abandon GTA Online for a bit until I am satisfied with my progress in RDR2 Online, then I will play both at the same time.

It's about the principle and the logic that because a company makes one product, they should/would therefore like the other products the company makes.

Arguing over the price in my example is a matter of semantics.

I understand that you and several others see RDR2 and GTA as similar, but myself and many others do not and you'll have to accept that.

I got ya man, I just think that logic is a solid one. It is a very good assumption that if a company makes several products and a person loves one product, that they may love the other products as well.

For example I know for a fact I will like RDR2 and want to get it, based on the fact that I liked the last 15 games Rockstar produced. If say Ubisoft made RDR2, I wouldn't even consider it.

Still going to keep playing, and probably won't get RDR2. Never really had any interest in the Red Dead games - Westerns aren't my thing, for the most part, and so even if RDR2 came with an online component similar to GTAO, I still reckon that freedom of play would be much more limited to me because of the restrictions of the setting.

For one thing, no cars! :p Heck, despite RDR2 being another R* 3rd-person open-world shooty-adventure title, I actually find I enjoy GTAO for many of the same reasons I enjoy things like Forza Horizon. Sorry, but horses and stagecoaches aren't much of a substitute, IMO. ;)

My interest in the game is waning, but I doubt cowboys can keep me entranced for as long as I'd like them to.

I ain't touching Red Dead Online. I doubt it'll have anything to keep players hooked and coming back for more. You can't exactly have VEHICLES in the wild west after all, are they just going to add different breeds of horses?

I'm sure it will have normal style dlc like RDR had. Like only a few DLC's during it's life cycle.

I'd play both depending on my mood.

I love RDR's multiplayer, but it's so broken now it's unplayable. A new RDR Online would scratch that itch.

I'll always come back to GTAO though. I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't.

I'm curious about RDR2, but don't really care that much. I haven't played any of the other titles, but I'm intrigued enough to try the single player and see what the game's all about.

GTA is my home, however.

Funny how everybody is always so sure of the future.

Please give us an option of "I'll see what happens.". I don't know how I'll feel about GTA:O in the future and I have no idea if I'll HAVE Red Dead Redemption 2, much less be able to play the online game. And even if I do, I don't know what it's going to be like. Fact that it's about cowboys instead of cars doesn't mean (to me) that it's guaranteed to be less enjoyable, I'm sure Rockstar will be able to fill in the void of car collections with other fun things to do.

Wait and see.

RDR2 is already out. It's called Red Dead Redemption. Unless you mean Red Dead Redemption 2, in that case you should say RDR3, because RDR1 is Red Dead Revolver ...

(Thank you very much Rockstar for the horrible naming!)

On topic: Yes. I played RDR2 on PS3 and it was just okay, but nothing spectacular and in those 6 years since I've lost interest in cowboy games and likely will not ever play RDR3 unless a PC release happens because after by experience with consoles last-gen I've decided into not the buying of current-gen console offerings from Sony and Microsoft.

RDR is a great game.

so great that the took the weapon wheel from RDR and put it in GTA. online players being marked as aggressive + bounties also come from RDR.

RDR also had a "posse" system similar to CEO/MC recruitment.

RDR is to GTA like CoD: WaW is to CoD: Modern Warfare.

I really hope RDR online has a proper character creator, and doesn't have the crappy heritage system we have to use in GTA.

That's really hard to say without knowing what Red Dead's going to be like, and whether or not GTA's still going to have updates and DLC by then.

I probably will play both though. I can't exactly jump into a Hind in Red Dead, and I can't have duels and ride horses in GTA. They both have their place.

If the GTA updates run dry though, and Red Dead turns out good, I'll probably spend a fair bit less time on GTA.

No I will not give up gta for RDR. I'll most likely buy the game for the story mode because I thought the first one was amazing. I don't think I'll even go online though, I didn't the last game. I'm fairly excited for the game but probably won't rush to it. Gta is all I play, ive tried playing other things recently like fallout 4, Witcher 3, battlefield, dishonored that sort of stuff... but always come back... which I expect will happen with RDR.
