The Happy ol' remake of my first storyline is here. My name is QED and today i'm gonna release the topic of Guns 'N' Drugs: The Remake. Trust me, this will be a very good mission pack/storyline. First of all, let's begin with chapter 1.

2 Brothers, Fred Gonzales and Piko Gonzales are one of the most brave and thug gunmen ever. Fred left Europe with the reason to see his brother and to make peace with the Rifas, but that went wrong. A full-time war bettween Fred and the Rifas begun, see more in the second chapter!

Fred Gonzales:

The protagonist. Born in Mexico with a poor familly, had to grow up stealing and working since 6 years old. He went to a good school, got good grades and went to the best academy. After his familly died (except his brother and mother) he had to move to Europe. But after 5 years he had to leave Europe due to some problems with the Rifas.

Piko Gonzales:

Antagonist, Fred's brother. Got adopted by his new familly, met the same fate Fred did, working and stealing. He didn't really went to the best academy but still had a nice life in his dream city, San Fierro. Before Fred arrives, Piko haves some trouble with almost everyone in the city, what a poor fool.

Odley Paroka:

Side character of Chapter 1. His little ass had some trouble and called Fred accidentaly, because his phone is a piece of crap that instead of pressing 8 it presses 2. Odley gets helped by Fred, and being satisfied with his talent, introduced him to his cousin named Ricardo Gustavo.

Ricardo Gustavo:

Member of the San Fierro Bikers. He's Odley's cousin. Odley introduced Fred to Ricardo for the reason to help him. Ricardo was also satisfied, but he had a plan in his mind to kill Fred, see what happens in the missions, fool.

The San Fierro Rifa:
Grew up by killing people, drug selling and strip club owning. They spread their influence with propaganda, and they are the most powerful gang in the chapter 1 of GnD Remake. Fred's sworn enemy.

The San Fierro Bikers:
A group of bikers, a friendly gang of Fred (until Ricardo's fate mission). The San Fierro Bikers are the most powerful countryside organization, in San Fierro is kind of weak.

KEEP IN MIND: Those are the gangs of chapter 1. The other chapters will have more gangs.

-Fred's old car got stolen by CJ in 1992, sadly...
-Piko was supposed to be mexican too, but didn't find a good skin so i used the Jizzy skin.
-This is very different from the original story. The only non-difference is the characters, gangs and story objective.

Interesting man, are you willing to upload the missions anytime soon?

I want to play this but the holiday is nearing an end and I don't see myself having spare-time in the week apart from the weekend. So yeah, I'll give it a go once it's released.

Alright, so I gave this a shot:

PROS
Varied Difficulty
The Difficulty in most missions is similar to the original game's difficulty.Not too hard, however they can get really messy if you don't have attention.

CONS
No Character Progression

The characters aren't nothing special. You don't care about them. They're all average, they don't show their strikingly different personalities. They don't evolve through the story, and they have little to no impact on it.

Lackluster Story
The Story is something you should definetely work on to improve. It's overdone, cliche. It has no..catch. There's really no main plot. No antagonist that you want to hunt down or anything like that.There's a betrayal on the first chapter that happens just for the sake of it being there...And that leads me to the next point.


Filler Missions
Not only is the chapter pretty short(only 8 missions), it's full of filler missions that lead to nowhere. I finished the first chapter , however I don't feel the sense of achievement . What have I really accomplished ? I've met Piko and the other guy having issues with his phone(I don't even remember his name, that's how interested I am in him).There's quite a lot of wasted potential, starting with Ricardo and his gang.


Very Little Mission Variety
Hey, I've definetely seen worse, but this is something you need to improve. None of the missions felt special and they were repetitive. Some exceptions to be made, but in full there's no great finale, long action packed missions or anything like that.Yes, I do know it's the first chapter , but is that really excuse? It was fine in the first missions, but I was waiting the missions to evolve, to get longer and thrilling and all that. It doesn't happen though, and it left me dissappointed.

I'd say it's not too late to start over again. Try to work on the story and characters harder and try giving each and every mission their own catch, making them different from each other.

If i used those characters in a brand new storyline and not a goddamn remake, it would be way better. So keep in mind, this is a remake. And DYOM isn't supposed to be all about the bloody story. It's about F U N.

PROS

The environment of the story looks good. Shooting is easy to take out those f*cking rifas. "Ricardo's Fate" is best overall mission in the whole chapter.



CONS

Lack of variety in the missions. Put some unique setting of objects in the gang wars, to make it more fun and put cutsene perfectly to the actors. I saw in couple of missions you settled the cutsene on actors foot.
Missions length are short. Especially first 5. I almost completed first 5 missions in just 10 minutes.

Overall Rating: 5/10

From now I can't wait for chapter 2. Hope you design it very soon. Good luck and Cheers! :^::)

Havent heard of a bigger nonsense for quite some time now. You cant get away with a sh*tty story. The first thing I notice when playing DYOM projects is the story. If it is poorly executed, I am most likely to loose interest and stop playing within ten minutes. The story is the main hook that keeps people wanting to play. You cant expect to have your project well rated if you fail to come up with a good story but compensate it with "good" missions and vice versa. If it lacks any of those, it is not a good project. As for the remake nature of this project - the point of a remake is to improve the project on things that it previously lacked. That does include the story. And lastly - if you can't accept a review, you shouldn't be posting here. Take reviews into account rather than trying to find excuses why a crappy project is allowed to be crappy.

You are right, and i'm really sorry about this. I might not be a good story maker but in my point of view i don't really get bored if the story is bad and other things. I just enjoy the missions themselves.
