I came here looking for a thread for this but couldn't find one so here goes..

It is a miniseries, there is Tom Hardy, it is set in 19th century London and there is this inherited piece of land caught in a geopolitical soup.

First episode went solid.

Here's a preview:

I saw a tester about this Show back when the Sherlock Promos were aired. Everyone said that the Pilot went well. And Tom Hardy's in the show. Might as wells start watching this.

It's brilliant. James facing off with the East India Trading company at the end of the first was intense.

The fierce Tom Hardy against the conservative, civilized crown is great fun to watch.

I cannot wait to see the second today.

The BBC are really upping their game recently.

This looks pretty dark. I looked at the trailer before I read the topic. Thought it was a film, not a miniseries. Will give this a go. Cheers.

Talking about dark, the second episode was pretty 'dark'. Like you've to strain your eyes in some of the scenes to grasp and hold on to the bit of light that's given.

Early 1800s London innit.

While it is running good, I just found that it might also be getting a second and a third season. Not a mini-series after all.

We have plans well, certainly I have plans if we get given the green light for more. The plan is that there would be three seasons, and, as with Peaky Blinders, I have had a destination in mind from the beginning, because I think it helps as a writer. The destination in mind is that James Keziah Delaney sets foot on Nootka Sound. But that's a long way off.

Yea I thought the same thing but maybe in his mind the path is more important than the destination.

Wouldn't mean much if he wasn't getting that monopoly though. I'm actually more interested in knowing about what happened in Africa.

New episode was absolutely nuts. James is really being pushed into the ''villainous protagonist'' space and I absolutely love that. Sopranos, Breaking Bad all did well by having morally dubious characters and if James did what they imply he did he's really crossed some insane boundaries here.

i think its safe to assume the second season will take place in america or canada. Im not sure about the 3rd. but this season feels like a build up too him leaving england.

Yeah that's the plan, I think Hardy talked about it before. You know how in ensemble movies like inglorious basterds you get a montage showing you how this group of people came together and met each other? this is basically a season long version of that. The ''real'' story hasn't actually begun, so to speak.

This series is really captivating. It's one of few shows in recent years that have really captured my interest. Good acting and cinematography not the mention the story itself. It's like really dark version of Assassin's Creed without the more laughable parts of that series.

Since the main character is so complex and his moral compass is, let's say, a little lost, I must say that this is probably one of the best performances Tom Hardy has given so far. And that is a lot, since in my view he's already among the best actors of his generation.
