Do you think Tommy gets underpaid?

Lets be honest, he usually gets 1000-2000 bucks for jobs like blowing up a drug factory or assassinating lots of people.

Even Diaz ripped him off since 10000 dollars are a joke if you think about all this insane stuff he had to do for him which was highly dangerous, too.

Worst one was the mission for Cortez, where Tommy had to kill Gonzales. Only 250 bucks for killing a drug lord like him?

I know this is suppose to make the game harder so you don't get too much money in the beginning, but still.

Claude at least got a nice payout for his jobs, usually 200000 for stealing a expensive car.

While Tommy gets underpaid, Claude gets overpaid.

Plus, you're supossed to get a dime of cash from the bussinesses missions, you're the Vice City lord, how comes you don't collect your income?

It's due to the inflation, I suppose.

GTA 3 is a parody of over inflation, for sure. I don't know how the inflation was during the 80s in the US, but it is perhaps accurate?

Assets and property were so much easier to come by in your 1980's Vice City. Let's remember you can even make a killing in GTA3 with a simple traffic jam. The money is arbitrary to mission completion and it's just how they carry on the story.

Well, Toni in LCS is very underpaid. When you compare LCS and III we see huge diffrences in money rewards. TV, CJ and VV(Victor) get money from their properties and bussinesses, and CJ also can make money from betting or playing in casino.

Well, this isn't the HD universe, but Huang Lee from GTA CW IS f*ckIN' UNDERPAID, the only reason I think he's working for the Triads is because he wants to honor his father.

And I guess he kinda is underpaid.

Basically all you have to do is double the amount. If Tommy got say $10,000 in 1986 in today's money that's roughly about $20,000.

I also think it comes down to the fact that unlike Claude Tommy wasn't a hired gun and the majority of his income came about his criminal empire. He was making more money in the long run than from target based killings.

R* probably realized it was ridiculous for Claude to be making $1Ks by just entering strangers' vehicles so they made money tighter to come by in GTA:VC so the pacing of Tommy purchasing all of the businesses and safe houses was slower/more realistic.

What can I say, it was the 80s where you can pay an Italian Mobster to blow up drug factories and to be your personal body guard for pretty much free.

Yes I live in Texas and yes I believe its accurate somewhat because At one point in history having 100 back then doallers was like having 1000 doallers today I don't have exact dates though.

I always found it quite funny. 80s were not the best time to get paid in the Miami. While GTA III is a clear demonstration of how much you could make through the jobs for Mobs, you don't even have that many activities to spend all that money. Vice City on the other hand was about difficulties of earning money. While the paychecks were small, the assets and properties were somewhat costly, except for some like the Strip Club which I felt was cheap. But again, it doesn't generate much revenue compared to ht other properties.
