I'm on PC. Most of the time I switch from SP to online, as it's a tad bit faster, but it's not linked to that.. Today I went immediately into online and the black screen popped up... It also happened when passing first through SP then to Online... Think it's just a very random event and you have to be a lil bit Lucky.


Since I'm playing alot of hours of GTA online, the odds must be in my favor (sometimes).... Then again, it (over)compensates for a dissolved T20 just after the tuningevent for a I/E sale yesterday...

I opened a ticket with Rockstar support to ask them WTF? Because... I want these rewards too. haha.

 

Their explanation for all this was:

 

"We understand your concern regarding the promotional offers for players.

 

We would like to inform you that not all offers are made to all members. We recommend staying subscribed to Rockstar mailing list and staying tune, as you may be slected in the future to receive a special offer."

 

No true criteria for why they do it was provided albeit it was a very copy/paste answer. I doubt they had time to really go into the details and honestly from their point of view, who cares right? I come off as some gamer trying to get something I didn't earn for free.

Wut lel I just got an unknown error. Then when I logged back in I got 250k and was in a session by myself.

Yay! I got another 250k today.

 

In ref to what I asked above, you can receive it without restarting GTA Online, ie I always leave my PS4 in Rest Mode and start GTA Online without restarting the app.

I was awarded $250,000 yesterday. I was also awarded the same amount back in January. A friend of mine, she was awarded $100,000 yesterday.

It's not like Rockstar Games is a creature chained up under a building that shouts out player IDs at random, there's an explanation for it I believe. I have a hard time believing that things happen for no reason whatsoever.

 

f*ck knows what the reason is though. Lots of clever and well informed people in this thread and I've not seen any convincing theories.

I doubt it. If it was something as sensible as that then Rockstar would make a fuss about it for the positive publicity.

 

Personally I don't think it's happening intentionally, for that reason. Unintentional doesn't mean random though.

I received it a couple days ago and have since seen this on my loading screen.

I assume it's due to how often you play or how long each session is. I play it for a lot longer each time than my friend who plays almost every day I do and he hasn't received anything yet.

Nah. I don't really mess with the business stuff and have no issues with Ammo or any of the other things that some seem to have.

Agreed. They would not want to miss out on PR if it was intentional. The first time it happened they never told us why until afterwards. No company rewards its consumers without making a thing out of it.

3+ years i`ve been good sport and a legit player without any kind of cheating and i haven`t got the 250k not even once. I`m starting to get pretty bitter jellyfish while reading how people are getting those awards continuously for their ridiculously modded accounts :barf:

Can`t wait to dupe those horses and wagons in RDR online

Still nothing but shark card offers. f*ck off im not ever going to buy a shark card especially when i am never offered a free 200 to 250k. I dont play the game much but my friend who plays on average 18 hours of gta a day and is signed up has never gotten it either

Yes thereabouts. Doesnt work or go to school and plays all day with european crew members and is still awake and playing at night with the US members

And he is over 1k in level and always gets asked to drop money lol

He sounds hardcore. Even if I had that kind of time free, I don't think I could manage 18 hours in a day.
