Where exactly?I am going to guess that it is north east of SA, but right on top of it. Hopefully they can put it north east, and have some distance between the two maps.

Well, one could say that trailer was boring cause it didn't show anything of LC, just the city on the distance with a lot of fog...

 

Screenshots of the city? Nah, that's in fact even more boring. 'Not releasing any. Pfft.

That's the actual size of Liberty City? The roads look much smaller than the ones from LS.

LC roads are closer together than LS.

 

@Good-NTS: Any chance the bounds will be cracked? Isn't there anything in the gameconfig.xml? I feel like Fastman will be interested in cracking those boundaries.

 

However, if it will be there for technical reasons, I may look into a way to have only one map enabled at a time. (I hope the water will be swappable). Then there will be a script that will have you go to more geographically accurate locations to simulate geographic accuracy. Isn't it true that GTA V has 3 different map sets? The standard SP map (used by default in SP), the Online map (used in GTA Online), and the SP DLC map (works like the Online map, but was supposed to be used for the SP DLC that never appeared). If it is true that the SP DLC map works like the Online map, it wouldn't be hard to swap between SA and LC.

 

On the other hand, I am extremely happy that we can at least fit the map. But by looking at your map, it just barely doesn't fit in the north east (that is right next to SA). I have a feeling that you guys would rather put it up there, but those damn limits. At least they aren't as much of a problem on GTA V as they were on the past GTA's. Also, at least with the spot you guys picked, you have the mountains on the east side of LS to sorta separate the two maps.

 

Also, one thing I should mention to you guys regarding RPF's. There apparently is an RPF limit. When people install a few add on cars and try to use the Online maps, their game crashes. Rockstar added a bunch more RPF's in Import/Export, which means even less RPF's can be added with the Online maps. However, I solved the problem by merging the add on cars dlc.rpf's with the existing Rockstar ones. Now I have a f*ck ton of them working with the Online maps. So, if you guys want to keep the Online maps compatible, don't use a f*ck ton of RPF's. lol. Otherwise people will get filepack errors. I would hate to have to choose between Single Player Apartment/Yacht Delux/Open Interiors/Benny's for LC. To make it work, I'd have to sloppily merge your files with the Online maps from the Heists update, or with one of the patch maps. In Import/Export, Finance and Felony, and Bikers, the map updates Rockstar did, they merged with the Heist updates in the update.rpf dlc_patch folder, rather than adding another set of map updates. This tells me that they are reaching an RPF limit, and are having to merge stuff like I am with my add on cars. However unlike me, they have the source code so I don't get why they don't increase the limit. Probably because they don't wanna make the game more demanding, putting more strain on lower end PC's/Xbox One/PS4.

 

Edit: I just remembered, the Aircraft Carrier spawns in the same area that North Yankton spawns. When you guys post screens, can you post a shot of LC viewed from the aircraft carrier? I think that would be neat. :)

The water boundaries is the real issue. We are working hard to change it, because even with this location we can't make proper water for whole city.

This is not the only limit they are close too. We might see more changes in game code in upcoming updates, or they will stop making updates soon, at least they will be smaller and smaller.

Most of the main roads in LS are really wide some of them like eight lanes wide, while in LC most of them are 4 and 2 lanes. also roads are closer together

IV map is still more or less the size of Los Santos

I don't have aircraft carrier and I have no idea how to put it in game.

 

I can definitely tell that the water will be an issue there.

 

I do believe that Rockstar will be making some coding changes soon as well. Heck they may even add more values to the gameconfig that may help you guys out. One nice thing about constant GTA Online updates is there are less hard coded limits getting in the way of modders adding content.

I know. I can tell roughly where it is in reference to LC on the map that GooD-NTS poated as it shows North Yankton. I have a feeling there will be a nice panoramic view of LC from the aircraft carrier.

OpenIV Team - Release schedule (2017, part 1)

Our team have great plans for GTA V modding and today I want to share some of them with you:
In the next several months, we are going to update all our core tools and mods, and then make first release of our Liberty City in V convertor.
Our current plan is pretty simple:


1. OpenIV 2.9
2. OpenIV 2.9.1 + openCamera 2.0
3. OpenIV 3.0 + Liberty City in V [beta 1]


We do not have exact or even estimate dates, but for now we are plan to release first version of Liberty City during the spring season (March, April, May).

Probably the reason you do get your game crashed is because you're most likely tried enabling Online maps via the OpenInteriors 5.1 mod, but you cannot do this with it since OpenInteriors still isn't updated for current game version 1.0.944.2.

No he will still have the same problem. Open Interiors doesn't enable the Import/Export interiors, but it still works fine at enabling the MP maps.

Remember IV had some extreme low ass res textures,like tress and other stuff,would you be replacing those with some HQ textures that you can grab from GTA4MODS ?

 

And a suggestion,since you have successfully placed LC within the map,can't you bring NY the same way as a third city ?
