I'm terribly sorry for using Russian, but I'm too lazy right now to translate to English just so GooD will have to translate it back. Plus it's not really that important.

---

---

On second thought, this can be seen as disrespect towards the other community members, which I certainly do not want.

GooD, is there a chance you will update that openFormats thing to support vehicle models any time soon, so CP will finally be able to fix his IVPack and maybe Killatomate will create handling mod for it by the time you release the city converter? It would be awesome to drive around the city from GTA IV in a car from GTA IV with decent physics, almost like in GTA IV.

Do you plan to make this mod like GTA: Underground on San Andreas?

Some of the users that post here do really expect a lot from this. Remember that this is posted in the MAPS section for a reason, so don't expect anything like GTA Underground. You can expect something like an earlier version of SAxVCxLC though :p

For openFormats/OpenIV qestions please use OpenIV topic.

openFormats for YFT will be added into OpenIV after first Liberty City release.

We now have a plan for OpenIV, openFormats and Liberty City releases and we trying to stick to it. Because the situation like in 2016 where we was able to release only one OpenIV version is not acceptable.

That's true and we should keep this thread about map, but it's unbelievable how much potential this has for future. I actually didn't knew about SA Underground mod, it's awesome, imagine that with completely functional LC/LS and NY in V engine and graphics, omG, I hope that that is going to be realised in the coming years.

Well I wish you guys smooth sailing with your plans.

I hope that you will be able to release your tools in a month or two. I can't wait till I start seeing custom rpf maps on gta5-mods, rather than Menyoo/Map Editor maps. I sure hope to see some large map expansions. Still Dre made a few on IV, and with V having a lot more resources available, I have a feeling he will make some impressive stuff.

I also hope that they will work with Online maps as well as a bunch of my scripts need Online maps. I solved the File Pack error by installing my add on cars in one of Rockstar's dlc packs. I can add a lot more with the Online maps when I do this. I feel like the same thing may be true regarding map mods.

maybe a bit early to bring this up, but keeping in mind someone will do a mod like this in the future I was thinking about vegetation and the trees from Los Santos would fit well in Liberty City

but ofc, it remains to be seen how good IV trees will look with V shaders

(it's a good time for a related screenshot, what you say GooD NTS?)

V props will slightly floting above ground but it doesn't mean that is not fixable. IV trees are crap in V, trust me.

Sorry if it came across as I was expecting a lot, wasn't my intention, thanks for answering my question though!

IV trees are crap in IV too. lol They were good for its time. In fact, I believe that Rockstar even uses completely different models on the CG/PC version than they had on last gen.

I will definitely install a vegetation mod on GTA IV before converting. Probably this one since it is much higher quality, and the fact that is summer vegetation, it will make the GTA V peds and weather fit in LC. http://www.gamemodding.net/en/gta-iv/gta-iv-mods/51614-vegetation-textures-by-bisonsales-.html

Speaking of vegetation, I think it all should be in separate IPL's that can be enabled/disabled. That way we can have multiple versions of the vegetation for different seasons.

I'd be fine with V Vegetation...

Remember?

They didn't change placement, it was some batch processing sh*t that placed those trees in the same exact position.

(For example, bind tree X from IV to tree Y from V)

They manually remodeled the terrain, though.

If you're too curious about it ,here's the perspective on how trees look like when convert ( using _CP_'s pic)

Probably yes, OpenIV's team doing that conversion will most likely add streets / buildings on V's radar as well. Without minimap exploring / navigating in Liberty City would be impossible and total mess...

Actually I wonder how the radar would work, especially with the map exploring feature in SP. My guess is that it is similar to GTA SA, where it would only work in the original map until it gets cracked.

But one of my concerns is the water. I have noticed that when you fly far enough away from SA, you see it above the horizon with a circle around it (Except for last night, where I only saw SA in the distance. Might be due to my gameconfig.xml changes). I also noticed that glare from the sun is oddly rendered both where the sun is, and towards SA. Are there any plans to fix this, or are you not going to put SA that far away? Perhaps when you crack the water boundaries the issue will resolve itself. But you also would need to figure out a way to hide the lods from LC and SA once they near the horizon.

We are working here. Please be patient.

p.s.1: Screenshots are boring, you will not see anything new on them... yet...

p.s.2: We moved Liberty City into another location, and yet again it is not geographically accurate.

Can the Cargo Plane land on the Francis International without clipping anything?

Looking from the plane perspective on the sleeping blocks of Dukes through the smog filter at evening... Liberty City, here we come!

I don't think screenshots from the most awaited mod since GTA V release would be boring

And who cares about geography? Just put the damn thing where it would cause less trouble to work on
