This looks awesome.

 

Quick question - just out of interest will you be able to port the old character models from IV across as well? I expect not as with the different file formats that might be impossible to do on such a large scale.

Image is flipped horizontally. Forgot to change it back. Only a rough idea but easily fixed.

Made this logo too but didn't develop it very far. Thought it might be worth including. Maybe as a poster/box art thing or something. Just a simple heavy block of text. Image is from IV but could be replicated in V possibly.

Will this mod have seabed?

Also could we get some screenshots of interiors like Niko's Broker house?

Speaking of Niko's houses, what will happen with Roman's cab depot and the Broker safehouse? Will they be burned down or intact?

Couldn't get into my other account so created a new one. Had a play around with some things to make a logo. Decided to use the V/FIVE logo as a base template, but use actual screenshots from the Alpha version (can always be changed in the future) in the logo. I've made 2 types. A black version and white version depending on the image it's going on.

Love it, but perhaps you should remove the green gradient from "IV," Looks good big, but it makes it look sloppy when it is small

Threw this together for you. Kept simple and following the GTA IV look. Bit of LC taxi yellow for some color. Few other composition and color options too.

Two questions

 

One - The disgusting z-fighting/texture flickering that plagues GTA IV, it's fixed by this conversion? I'm asking because it could be caused by two things: bad lod placement or a shader bug somewhere, and speaking of shaders..

 

Two - Will it matter what patch you have installed? I don't know if any of these patches modify something map related, but they do update shaders.

iirc NTA confirmed (at least on skype) that LOD issues are caused by shaders. Also i already confirmed that console ipls converted to PC don't fix the flickering. Also this conversion is simply map. No shaders converted.

Also, I am wondering if they had to turn down the texture quality a notch. I remember the LC roads looking a little bit higher quality than that. I also noticed that the screens look edited.

I have Radeon HD 6950 on my PC, so that maybe a reason of not so good quality of textures.

Also, the screenshots was takes from video which was made in Rockstar Editor. And yes the color pallete was changed unintentionally while saving images in photoshop.

I will reupload images with original colors when we will have logo. Speaking about logo...

Quick tip: i used this mistake to make pictures. The best way to take screenshots in rockstar editor is record footage, in rockstar editor tweak the camera and filters, when you're happy press H to hide UI and snap a screenshot with any program you want

So, for example I have a modded GTA IV using texture pack like lord neophyte textures.

Can I use the converter to convert liberty city with those new textures to GTA V ???????

Just to weight in, I was gonna do a logo attempt, but in all honesty it would've been close to what glennoc91 did, and I like that already, it's modern, stylish, fits Liberty City and has a sort of Airport Display look to it (the stacking version) so if you guys are going to pick one, out of all the ones posted in this thread thus farm go for glennoc91's, that's coming from a fellow designers perspective.

I think that OpenIV's logo is good enough. No need for a "Ultra Awesome Logo" It's just a map mod and not a totally new game.

Cheers for the feedback. I've saved the PSD anyway so the gradient can be altered on the small logo version if need be, just thought the green would take the sharpness of the B&W away and also give it that GTAV colour too. Edited by iLewisGTA

They need a proper logo, but those posts about the logos are annoying to read. They should have opened a second thread. Now I don't get 10 emails from people celebrating screenshots or the trailer, but 40 emails from people posting sh*tty logos (except one or two).

Loving the "Open IV team presents Liberty City in GTA V" font from glennoc. It is sleek, modern and smells like brushed steel. Had that synaesthasia moment when seeing it.

Thanks - I was actually interested in several non-player characters rather than Niko (or JK or LL). As far as I'm aware there's still no tool to convert ped models back an forth.

 

Anyway, don't want to distract too much from what will be an awesome project without that anyway.

Actually there is. Zmodeler3 now supports the ped models.

First, i want to say that this is completely awesome to see Liberty Ciity together in GTA V's RAGE Engine!! :lol: But i want to make you three suggestions:

 

1-Surely one of you must have a good pc capable of running the game with full graphics at a decent framerate, then please, could you take screenshots with maxed out sliders( also with NVIDIA PCSS enabled)?

 

2-I highly recommend you to use VisualV instead of the ugly Vanilla graphics, because it improves every graphical aspect, like very, very accurate realistic lightning, and it fixes a lot of rendering issues present in original shaders like:

They want to have it north east, and farther away but due to the damn boundaries, they cannot do that until they are cracked. On the bright side, they are at least able to fit LC into the world without cracking the bounds. On past GTA's, the map had to be replaced in order to get the older map in game.

When you in editor the overall graphics quality is lower than when you render the video.
