The Ruiner 2000 didn't became the new grieffers toy

^ The session isn't alerted to the VIP work until you're in the ruiner, so it's easy to start.

Edit - I think there's a 3 min timer, too.

You wont have any problem in the VIP ruiner other the the hate messages. Had a very cautous Hydra stalking me just now. He was flying past full speed trying to sight me clearly. I got 4 rockets locked but none hit. Finally he came at me firing as I jumped it off a bridge and got a rocket on his nose. Never got a scratch on the ruiner.

Well I've mostly been avoiding other players in public sessions. Even being one of the early birds in the game I'm not exactly experienced in PvP. But it seems to me that a single well timed manouver in the Ruiner 2000 can give you the opportunity to blow up attackers.

Bloody hell. I've been trying to avoid spending more money since buying a bunch of warehouses and you guys are making it awfully difficult for me to resist the temptation of purchasing this baby.

I already had fun with it in the mission to unlock it but seeing it parachute around the city, damn.

So I'm guessing that you can start the special Ruiner VIP mission any time when registered as CEO. But where does the improved version spawn?

Hm, some more questions about it. What's the cooldown after the mission to repeat it or play other VIP missions? And are you limited in any way while doing this mission?

One hour cooldown, It spawns around in a few different places and you can started fully loaded anytime another activity isn't running in the lobby.

Define activity? Surely you don't have to wait until noone is doing any VIP work or even worse - any CEO or MC mission?

The hour cooldown seems steep but fair, keeping down the potential griefing time. And I guess going to collect it isn't that bad so long as noone else is made aware of you starting the mission and there are enough spawn locations so people can't go there and ambush you.

Same rules as other VIP jobs: only one at a time per session. Other CEO/MC work is separate as usual.

I didn't know there could only be one VIP mission going on at any time in a public session. Seems pretty stupid when there's plenty of space for multiple parties to conduct their own business.

Now I'm considering buying it soon and getting near or under my reserve amount of cash just so I can have some fun with it before everybody buys one and we all have to wait for other players to finish their R2K griefing session.

EDIT: If it really is only one VIP mission at a time for all players in the same session, I imagine some hate mail any of you are getting might also be because they've figured out you're letting the timer run out and they'd quite like to get on with their VIP work. So they try to take you out, fail and send you a text about it.

Who ever does VIP work? I never see it. Anyway the hate mail comes after you kill them a few times.

People seem to do more MC work these days, which is also a bad idea in a lobby with a ruiner...

"destroy the bikes" ummmmmm ok

I don't know and generally I don't care because I tend to avoid non-empty public sessions and every single player who isn't on my friends list.

But at least on this forum it sounds like a popular way to make money so I'd expect some people to make use of that in the game. And seeing how intelligent many of those random strangers are, I could see them running out the timer on their own missions just because they're slow and stupid.

If it was me, I wouldn't be sending hate mail just after figuring out you're not going to finish your mission quickly. I'd do it after trying to kill you and failing to do so like I said in the post you quoted.

Well, I personally don't bother with hate mail but if I did, that would make more sense. They don't send it until they have a goal which they fail to accomplish. THEN they get upset.

Something strange I noticed. So, these guys tried to kick me, and I started the VIP work to go after them. After one of them left, I saw I was able to lock onto his player-less body.

I wonder if there's any way it can lock onto live players who are still controlling their characters? And if you can, could you also do that with a helicopter?

SOme guy thought he could blow up a randoms MC product.

He didn't like not being able to fly his chopper higher than 20ft or drive a car for more than a mile. Friend joined in and tried to Ghost Org/civilian car me. Insta-lock on. PV Ruiners came out lol. Jets came out. Blown up.

It was a fun 20 minutes.

Just bought the Ruiner 2000. It is absolutely the new tool and toy of a Grieffer. Just spent 10 maybe 15 mins running around blowing people up. Seems like no one knows whats comming. People don't recognize the icon on the mini-map or worst yet think that i'm doing a car steal mission and come after me to blow up my car. They come around the corner to find they are the one's getting blown up. :-)

A hydra pilot actually avoided 4-5 of the rockets earlier on, I was susprised as it was instant kill any other time. But one of them finally got him in the end. I survived 3-4 of his strafes too.

Funny part was him claiming he wasn't trying to kill me at any point..

I got another hydra earlier today, worst part was the car was stuck on a barrier as he came for me but I blasted myself free with the rockets, then shot him down. Killed 3 insurgents a savage and some buzzards in the same ruiner spawn. Plus about 30 player kills.

the J is for Julia

Bought mine yesterday. Slowly ground through the necessary car thefts and discount unlock mission last week. After a 3 car sales run and a Pac Standard jaunt, I had the money to pony up. Totally worth it though.

In-vehicle headshots with the machine guns while bunny hopping or pitching the nose down after a turbo boost is hilarious. Even the nerfed garage version of the car is insane with some careful planning. Now if only I could lock the camera forward while backing up. ;)

I'm honestly considering moving my vehicle warehouse to a more central location so I can reload faster... these drives out to El Burro are getting a bit tiresome XD

1. Have no PV out

2. Get your ruiner

3. Blow it up

4. Complete a playlist (make your own with Criminal Records x 1)

5. "Request PV" now spawns your ruiner.

6. Destroy to reload

It's a 'glitch' but while the SPV cooldown sticks on 5m forever it's one I'm using.

PS carries into missions, and can be any SPV. We had a bundle of unapproved fun doing contact missions on Blazers Aqua.

Been tryin to do this but hasnt worked for me

I just wana use it in missions

I already knew u could request it in vehicle menu under request special vehicle

Thats because it doesn't have that cheese cannon the Jets have.

The limit of 8 rockets that don't regen and miniguns that was so weak it takes forever to destroy a stationary vehicle are the limiting factors for this vehicle. Personally I use it a lot in free roam with my friends because its fun to jump around in it.

Da Elite Ninjah

So i need a different one than the one i can get from my warehouse?

You'll want to start the VIP work Fully Loaded - this gives you an armoured version that has infinite missiles.

I'm not sure if the lock on out-ranges the tank's cannon (I know it's shorter than that of the Buzzard, which only just out-ranges the tank). If it does, then getting a tank while in an armoured Ruiner should be easy enough. Otherwise, it might be a little awkward (1 shot from the tank will throw it around, even if it doesn't destroy it).

Edit: Also, the heliphobia demonstrated in the above post is ... Quite troubling.

Best tip ever, what a weekend :D

I have observed a couple of Red Dot Hydra Addicts using the ruiner as their get-me-back-to-my-jet vehicle of choice, which figures.

Just left a lobby where seemingly everyone was on bikes or in choppers. Slow bikes, no shotaros and slow buzzards. 20 minutes of pure reign. Light em up. I must have gotten 80 kills.

FrugalDangerMan

30 seconds of fun and that's it. No thank you.

That's what she said....

I've noticed as more and more players buy it, more and more try to use it for griefing. I was chased but one last night on a MC delivery mission. Full chrome paint job too.

Had he been in a jet I would have been toast but that car can't corner well, or he was a terrible driver and I made it to the drop with enough time to take cover and shoot him as he rounded the corner.

I then prox mined his car and 1 minute later boom goes the 2000.

Well just dropping in 2 cents to say one explosion from a Ruiner 2000 on my Infernus the other night kindly reminded me I have other games to play

Between Kuruma's, Ruiner 2000 mission work and Hydra's I'm done with public lobbies for a while, far too much war zone for me.
