Bought the Ruiner but didn't get it

Recommended Posts

I think you need to do 4 vehicle deliveries to your warehouse in CEO mode to unlock the mission you need to complete to unlock the ruiner.

You need to do all special missions to buy the Ruiner for a nice discount, but even without doing them you can buy it, even if it's for full price.

Thanks guys. Yeah I accidentally bought it for the full price and I already feel like it's a waste money.

Why you say that?

And didn't you do research of the vehicle to see if it fit your gameplay style?

Not being a jerk, just asking because I want it but have no problem waiting for it to go 50% off in a month or two.

Even though I was interested I bought it for the full price accidentally because pressing on the discount price gave me message that I had to unlock something. It's been a while since I bought a vehicle and I somehow presumed that after pressing on the price would give me an 'are you sure' message, which is why I pressed on the full price out of curiosity. This was something done impulsively without thinking to much of it. ;)

Anyway, I changed my mind after discovering that I could upgrade and customize it in a garage and that the car can jump. I still think it's overpriced, but money isn't an issue so I don't regret it.

Just a little note, the missiles on it have limited capacity of 8 and you have to refill it by going to your vehicle warehouse, which is free.

However,

The tracking system of the missiles is amazing. Its tracks much better than the homing launcher and makes it almost downright impossible to avoid. So if you can lock on to a Hydra, this thing will make quick work of it.

The car also has infinite parachutes on it, so you can glide in mid air, and if anyone tries to get in to your car (provided you set settings to no-one allowed in any vehicle) it will electrocute players trying to steal it.

Theres a simple glitch that lets you use them in missions as it shouod have been from the start.

Please tell us.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found a tutorial to it. Can I post a link of it here?

Buy Warehouse > Buy new vehicles > Go to Special Menu > Go to Vehicles > Go to Special Vehicles > Scroll through to your chosen vehicle

If this doesn't work, then contact Rockstar and stomp a lot.

the ruiner is a defensive vehicle, reacting to an attack, but due to the way it spawns with long cooldown it isn't convenient to use as a "regular use" vehicle.

The rocket voltic for example is something you purposely take out with an aggressive intent, going out to do jumps or whatever. You spawn it, have fun with it, then go do something else, whereas the ruiner had limited abilities and those that aren't limited are better used in "oh sh*t moments" ie defensive situations, and not for aggressive situations due to the limited ammo.

Ruiner would be worth more to me if they removed the missile and guns but made it a personal vehicle.

Awesome, I'm going to change my vehicle settings to no one and pick up unsuspecting friends.

Have a look at the bottom of the OP in that thread I just linked for video proof that it works.

Tried this before, was really fun playing contact missions with my Rocket Voltic!

They aren't Pegasus vehicles. There's a new vehicle request selection for Special Vehicles - look there and scroll through the options to see if they show up as enabled there.

Oh man THANK YOU for posting this. I was about to be so upset. I bought the Wastelander just b/c I want to go offroading with it in the mountains.....I was so disappointed thinking that i had to drive all the way south to LSIA to pick it up and drive it all the way back up north. It wasn't available in my CEO Vehicles and I couldn't call Pegasus for it. I even tried lifting it with Cargobob to take it up north but the Cargo bob couldn't lift it more than a foot off the ground. I was about to be super pissed off with this purchase til I saw your post. Sure enough, go to the interaction menu, skip over SecuroServ CEO b/c it's not in there, go straight to Vehicles, and the option is in there.

WOoo hooo thanks!

Yeah... no...

I didn't do them all and I'm rather sure I got the discount. Just be the host for the mission.
