Weird Thing Happened In GTA Race

In a GTA Race the other night, all of a sudden the camera mode changed during the race to first person and become locked that way for the entire race. It wasn't just me, other kids were complaining about it too. Is this a actual option in the race menu, or did someone hack it? I got boned because I was in an armored Kuruma, first person visibility+night+AI traffic+ snow = nightmare.

Yes it's an option but is it one they can engage in the middle of the race?

Right, this happened 17 seconds into the race, after 3, 2, 1, GO. it started when the entire lobby of racers missed a checkpoint, and then when they all turned around to go back, it got put into forced first person mode. I'm on PS4 by the way. One of the guys kept yelling someone's name as to why he missed the checkpoint, then he yelled the guy's name more after the camera lock. I assume that player must have been the host or something.

 

I got it recorded in case anyone wants to see.

 

I don't care either way, I was just perplexed as to the fact that I've raced so much and never seen that happen.

If it ever happens again, hold circle and you'll be put into 3rd person.

This has sort of happened to me, but I've always been able to go back to third person after repeatedly clicking the button. It's not an option for it to change during the race and it isn't being hacked; it's just a bug and seems quite common in stunt races--especially with motorbikes.

 

Most of the field missing the first CP is another issue; that generally happens in larger races with fuller lobbies--likely because of the grid size and original placement.
