Gangs become more aggressive after a while

Recommended Posts

TwoNumber9s

How comes the gangs in Los Santos, like Ballas or Vagos become more aggressive after completing a couple of missions? In the beginning they just follow you a little bit and insult you a couple of times and give you a chance to get out of there. They only start attacking if you attack first or stay around them for too long. If you are in a car, you are pretty safe.

Later they become hardcore on you and shoot on sight. Driving around isn't safe anymore since they recognize you from a distance and shoot your car and pop your tires. Exploring eastern Los Santos becomes pretty much impossible without getting involved in fights every moment.

Because CJ has came back from Liberty City after five years in the beginning so hes not too recognizable and the ballas/vagos gang were in territorial control.

Then CJ has stayed for a while, he did missions that require killing the ballas and that which gave them high alert as he's the target man. That's just all perception.

The reality is, that Rockstar coded that to make the game more detailed and interesting and to make you feel like you've done something for a change .

some have said that it is the "Wearing of the Green".

I suspect it is part of the Game, just to get things moving a long, especially after the Gang Tag confrontation.

It's mainly because they know CJ rolls with Grove Street again. Even without wearing green clothes both gangs tartget CJ on sight. They don't want any Grove ST OG's in their hood. Doesn't matter to me though since Grove owns almost the whole LS map :p Edited by GTA_The_Series

AFAIR the Ballas become hostile after Drive-By. Not too sure about the Vagos.

Sometimes when you idle in your car for a few minutes next to a posse of Ballas, they recognize and start surround your vehicle. They start to tell you to GTFO of the hood, or out of your car, yelling etc. Then afterwards they start kicking the sides and smashing the vehicle up.

This pretty much answers the OP's question.

CJ was not that well-known or recognisable among the Families enemies such as the Ballas and Vagos gangs in the beginning of the game, because he had been away from Los Santos for a very long time. When CJ gets back to LS he becomes the driving force behind the Families resurgence as a top street gang and helps them regain territory by killing many Ballas and Vagos gang members in gang wars, eventually later in the game they recognise him, so naturally they will be on the extra lookout to find him and kill him, like shoot him on sight. Surely you followed the story OP ? It seems not lol.

Same as GTA3 gangs become more aggresive as you move along the game whereas in the begining you could go where you wanted. To be honest all 3D era games behave like this dont they ?

Yep. In Vice City it was the same - whichever gang you killed the most in your stats, their members would always try to shoot and kill you on sight. Due to the main story, it was generally always the Haitians that would shoot at Tommy.

But for me, near the end of the game (AFAIR Home In the Hills or Home Coming), the Ballas revert from shooting you on sight into chasing you, insulting you and asking sh*ts like in the beginning of the game - even if Ballas is your "Least Favorite Gang". (However in unmodded save, Aztecas and Triads still remain hostile even after you did good things, which I don't like)

However, I think after a couple early LS missions, they will shoot you on sight despite they reverting behaviors in the end game

About the car-kicking, yeah it happens when your car got Grove OGs in a mission or when you do a vehicle side-mission, am I right?

Yes your correct. All gangs in LS do this. If you have Smoke, Sweet, or Ryder in your vehicle they start kicking it and call you out on the wrong hood. Pretty funny to watch :D

Because the missions you do make them disrespect you more. At first they see you as an ex-member, so they insult you, later on you're banging so they try to kill you.
