Mister Pink
You have 300 million budget. Essentially, not too many restrictions. You're given free-reign, carte blanche. You are project lead and you're responsible for story/theme and the "look" and "feel" of the game in 9 or 10 sentence. Please explain your idea and what you would do make the next GTA. - Is it SP or MP focused? - Do you have multiple protags? - Is there multiple cities? - Where is your GTA set? - How big is your map? - What's the theme? I'll go first: My GTA will be a singleplayer, focused game with multiple cities including MP similar to IV's style with only the best things taken from GTA Online and much more condensed MP. There will be only one protag but the option to unlock a completely customisable character after either story completion or 100% completion. It will feature 3 cities; one city catering to more driving, one more detailed city focusing on on-foot action (combat, shootouts, stealth, interiors etc) and the 3rd mixing blending the two. The game would be a throwback to period-style GTA's like Vice City or San Andreas. The side-missions and mini-games will be 90% crime-orientated (drug-dealing, pimping, real-time, on-the-fly store-robberies/hold-ups, burglaries, with the removal of mini-games like yoga. Driving will be between IV and V with older cars more like IV and super-tweaked cars closer to V. It will be set in new cities (largest being the driving-centric one) and to smaller but sizable cities, the smallest having lots of interiors (on foot-centric) and the medium on would be the mix of the two. They will be based on Boston (big city/cars) Detroit (medium, mix of two) and Pittsburgh (small, on-foot-centric). The themes/story will deal with organized crime (Mafia, Irish Mob, African-American Gangs, Russian Mafia). slimeball supreme
Single player focused game with only one protagonist. Same Online as V but with added portions from IV, like Cops and Crooks, Mafiya Work, or Turf War. Only set in one city, basically for maximum detail involved. Decently sized map, but mostly just an urban area with a ring of boondocks countryside on it's outskirts. House burglary, drug dealing, IV styled vigilante missions, and store robberies make comebacks with a few extra mini games like import/export car stealing. The game would be set in Atlanta in the 2010's with a pretty serious narrative focus yet again á la IV, it's themes playing into some of the grimier aspects of organised crime and it's toll on people involved in it. Also you can go to the grocery store in it and buy groceries Edited November 12, 2024 by slimeball supreme Sussus Amongus, gtafan26, The Time Ranger and 5 others 8 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/875610-you-have-300-million-budget-make-a-gta/#findComment-1069279045 Share on other sites

No. Two protags will be too messy. 1 is enough, just look at V. A lot of details was lost about all three characters, and with one characther you will have so much more options and more time to learn to know the characther. It will have two cities, a countryside and bridges, and being smaller than GTA V? Have fun with making that happen if you don't want cities the size of Bohan in GTA IV. No minigames and collectibles? Well there goes 99% of the side activities you can enjoy yourself after completing the story. Those are the points I think ruins the otherwise good idea you have there, Osho. [...]
My Grand Theft Auto installment is a singleplayer-driven video game with multiplayer that combines elements from GTA IV and GTA V. There are two protagonists - male and female. Both of them have dark past that is the reason why they're in criminal world. The game features two cities - the one where the main part of plot takes place in, and the one that makes the role of an "escape" city when the first city is too dangerous. The first city is based on Seattle and the second city is based upon Tacoma - both cities are based on the ones located in the Washington state. Just like multiplayer, gameplay also takes the best things from GTA IV (and Episodes from Liberty City) and V, yet it features a little new stuff. Side activites are supposed to satisfy both people who want to have a pure crime video game (for example, the player can kidnap people, steal particular vehicles, deal drugs, and the likes) and people who want to feel like an average citizen (for example, the player can work as a taxi/bus/limo driver, play some sports, or hang out with friends). Due to a different setting and the way luxury stuff has got too much attention, there are more low/mid-end vehicles and less high-end ones, and they're still customizable. Weapons look more "street" now (not like in GTA V, where they have that military looks), can be found with random amount of ammunition and they can get dirty just like cars. Protagonists ain't perfect since the beginning of the game, so the player should improve their skills (stats system returns from GTA V without any specific changes). Also, protagonists don't have special skills. In GTA, people don't play as villians with superpowers, after all. *. GTA set in a fictional world and not directly inspired from any real location. Nope, since it's SP focused you'll potrait the role of citizens of the streets like Cops 'N Crooks. - Is there multiple cities? No, one only and few islands maybe. - Where is your GTA set? Carcer City. - How big is your map? A map just like IV but with a lot of features who will make the map bigger than you thought. GTA-Biker
I would make a game with one protagonistbut he would be very customizable (there would be a wide variety of clothes, haircuts and tattoos to make him look anything from a casual civilian to a gangbanger to an outlaw biker to a mobster to a mercenary...,and return the ability to get skinny, fat or muscular). He would start as a small time thug, but based on his actions could ally or even join any gang in the game (similar to the respect system from GTA 2),and even become a high ranking member. The story would be focused on crime and gangs (street gangs, hillbilly gangs, outlaw biker gangs, mobs, cartels...) and interactive with the story progressing based on consequences of protagonists actions and choices,as the player could choose to work for any gangs and either stay neutral to all gangs, ally some gangs while remaining neutral or becoming an enemy to some,or join one gang and rise through their ranks while being friendly to their allies and an enemy to their rivals.Missions would generally be serious and mostly realistic, but freeroam would have a lot of fun activities to do,similar to SA.Side activities would be mostly crime based (drug dealing from CTW, burglary from SA, pimping from SA, street racing from GTA 5, vehicle theft from GTA 4 and TLAD...),but there would be a few legal ones (gambling in casinos and betting shops from SA, lowrider bouncing competition from SA, arcade games like in SA, pool, darts...). The setting would be in the past,I'd personally like the 70s or 80s.If it would be the 70s,the game would be set in San Fierro and Las Venturas, with a big countryside (around SF) and desert (around LV) and a few small towns between them.If it would be the 80s,then the game would be set in Vice City and the surrounding area (some countryside, some swamps, a few towns...). The game would be focused on singleplayer, just like the classic GTA games.Driving physics would be something between GTA 4 and SA.NPCs would have a lot of non-scripted activities, from just walking/driving around to stopping to greet a friend, have conversation with other NPCs,buying drugs from dealers, criminals stealing vehicles, mugging civilians or robbing stores, gang members having brawls or shootouts with rival gangs...,similar to how they behaved in SA.They would also interact with the protagonist, from commenting on his appearance or vehicle to trying to mug him, steal his vehicle...,while the protagonist could answer to comments, mug them, sell them drugs...The soundtrack would feature big hits of the time, from various genres, like in VC, SA, VCS... zmudziak32
My GTA would more like GTA IV + EFLC combo. It will be set in modern Vice City, 3 protagonists, but not in same way as V but more like IV + EFLC, 3 protagonists that have separate plot and activities. Vice City would as detailed as Liberty City from GTA IV. 2 males(Caucasian and Latin) and 1 female. You can earn money in diffrent ways, building empires, heists, racing. Characters, weapons, vehicles are fully customazable. FIBAgentSteveHaines
My GTA: -Two play styles for consoles: Freemode (Like GTAO) and PVP (Like IV) and for PC Modded Sessions for people who want to use mods -My map would be one of those renderings for a GTA Universe USA (Hardware in this scenario is Next Gen consoles E.G PS5) - Extra focus for PVP players E.G PVP DLC for RNG - 3 Protagonists again - In depth car customisation, so all cars can be 'Bennyfied' - The return of GTA IV Online game modes - An idea I have for a GTA USA kind of map is in game flights. Just like a Taxi where you can either skip it or sit through it, Online a flight would be faster than driving (obviously) with the ability to walk around inside it? - Improved car crash physics with a small amount of car crumple - Customisable houses More of a look at the map and online: - The map would allow for say you to live in VC and for a friend to live in SF - The map would create a better playing field for people who want to stay to themselves and those who want to cause havoc. - It would pander to everyone. Great roads for racers and other vehicle guys, great areas for PVP, nice large area for Jet Dogfights. - To expand on GTA Online, large shopping districts, more leisure activities, ownable big businesses - Creatable events such as Car meets, Golf tournaments, Boxing matches. - Heists for those kinds of people that you can create yourself - Ability to sell cars used to other players - Creatable businesses, E.G Car Sales, Big Corporations, Gun Smith, Real Estate - Maybe because of the weird RP scene on GTA Online, the ability to date other players?... Think if you owned a 10 car garage how cool it would be moving for Liberty City to Los Santos and moving all your cars over there by Cargo Plane. That kind of map is possible as The Crew has shown, next gen hardware would allow for more detail. It would cater to everyone, the RP people would like the dating and businesses, The 'Average Joe' would like the shopping districts and other details. The Car guys would like the car customisation, and the people like me would love the PVP. A large map with areas like VC for the culture, LS for the sun, LC for the gritty crime, Carcer City for PVP and North Yankton for snow would be great. ClaudeSpeed1911
I would start by lifting everything from GTA5/O and GTA4 EFLC. Every single thing made in GTA Online would be brought to the SP but improved for SP (activities, bussines, drug dealing, etc) I would also bring every single vehicle back from HD era GTA and bring the ones from III era. I would also add: .More details in the world -Drug dealing from CTW -More odd jobs like trucking or taxi which has more interesting events that would have more variations. -Side missions like police or beach patrol/pizza boy. -Things to do in the ocean, I want to dive and find cool sh*t, maybe add combat in the ocean with you fighting other scavingers or drug smugglers. -Gambling should be in the game, Liar's Dice, Poker, Pool, Chess etc. -Fight Club and Demo Derby/Stadium activities should be in the game, Fight Clubs should be like TBOGT but with more variation and maybe add another type that are legit and not crime related. For the Stadium activities the player will be doing things like in the past GTA's like DemoDerby, Racing, Stunts. For the combat and the driving I would make them more advanced than we got in GTA5, the melee would be back to IV levels however smoother and faster with more special moves. The driving should be like IV but faster and smoother. The shooting mechanics should go furthur with more MP3 influence and the AI should be more fair with less aimbotting. Animals would be back but they would need to be more like RDR and have their own AI instead of being peds and can't klill from one hit. The police should be much more balanced where you can outrun them wiithout them knowing where you are at all times and you can stealth past them. Speaking of stealth I would add back crouch. For the story and the setting I would keep LS and add LC. They would be updated however. I would also add NY and a whole new city. The new city would be as big as GTA5 map and NY would get more areas and would be as big as LS. The story would be as long as GTA5 but with much more crime and dynamic missions like in the III era. The player will be able to create their character with a much better player creator that would enable the player to change everything about the character from ears to gender. You would also be able to have a voice. The player can have up to 6 voices for each sex. Now you might be wondering what about MP? I would just remove it and replace it with CO OP, Saints Row style and with 2-4 drop in drop out CO OP. In co op the players you play as would just be an extra help and are non canon in the story as it should be posible to play everything without having to touch co op. In co op you would be able to activate PVP if you want or work together in any activity in the game but you would still be able to progress anything you want or expand you empire/progress with out losing anything. The only thing that would be different is the game world since it would be the host game world. What this means is that the player can help them out with missions even if they have not completed them. The players can start the game together however and complete everything at the sametime. The player can also do dynamic heists which can be done anytime but the player need to plan everything. It won't be as scenematic as the ones we have now but would be much more randomised and the player would have to gather crew members like in Godfather 2. If in CO OP then the player can rob without having as many crew members however they are good to have and the player can betray them to take the loot for themselves (only crew members and not the CO OP player to keep everything without bullying. The places that are not used in the story would be used in Stranger type missions or side activities. I would also bring back creator but flesh it out more. The player would be able to create their own missions up to races. I basicly want to have the feeling of building your empire from GTAO but with more SP focus and Saints Row inspiration. skramzkid
My dream GTA would be set in the Midwest, with Detroit, Chicago and Milwaukee being the main cities with various suburbs and rural towns, nature in between them. The game would open with a botched bank robbery of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago where you play a fully armored and masked protagonist who ends up sustaining serious injuries after the exciting mission/tutorial. After your crew escapes the police they take you to a black market clinic where you get to choose from preset male/female builds or make your own fully unique character. The player customization would allow you to choose your build, allowing you the freedom to make your character as fat, muscular or skinny as possible. You can choose what tattoos and scars they can have from the get go. You'll also be able to choose from at least to 25-30 unique voices for male and female with some voices having a foreign accent for example Eastern Euro, Asian, Hispanic, British. You can also choose how your character carries themselves in combat, you can give them a military shooting stance, gangster shooting stance etc. You can also customize their melee fighting style, such as pure street fighter,Krav Maga or Muay Thai. You can choose your character's areas of criminal expertise: they can be a skilled getaway driver with a mazed out driving stat, ex military/law enforcement with maxed out shooting, MMA fighter/bouncer with maxed strength and melee. Or you can opt to be a white collar criminal with high negotiation skills which allow you to do insider trading and other white collar crimes. Hacking and stealth will be important skills as well. After you finalize your character, your initial set of missions would be focused around your character skillset, with high driving stat characters getting street racing/getaway/highway hijacking missions, high shooting stats would be given more gun combat oriented missions like drug house/drug warehouse raids, gang wars, heists where you fight off heavily armed/armored SWAT and FBI. However every other mission type/side activity would be available from the beginning still but just not as much as your main skill missions. You can choose to start your own criminal group, and customize your group down to the last detail. They can be a street gang, organized crime, black market mercenary group, street racing/hijack crew, corrupt company that deals in illegal and legal ventures, outlaw biker etc etc. You can customize up to 10-15 gang member slots, and choose their appearance, mafia, gangbanger, biker and choose their combat style, military or street. The 10-15 gang members will then spawn randomly around your controlled areas. You can also call them for backup whenever you want. Or you can choose to be a solo contract criminal with no loyalty to anyone or anything just to money like a classic GTA protagonist.Or you can choose to join from the dozens of street gangs and organized crime groups throughout the Detroit, Chicago, Milwaukee area. Chicago will be in the grips of Folk and People Nation gangs like the Vice Lords, Latin Kings, Four Corner Hustlers, Maniac Latin Disciples, Black Gangster Disciples. The Asian gang Menace of Destruction would be predominant in Milwaukee along with anti government/right wing militias. Organized Crime will include the remnants of the Chicago Outfit, the Irish North Side Gang, various Mexican Drug Cartels like the Los Zetas, the 14K Triad and other Triad groups, and the Bratva or other Eastern European mafiya.Side activities would be mostly crime oriented with drug dealing, gang/turf wars, stash house raids, small time heists and import/export of stolen vehicles among them. you can also choose to engage in street racing, gun running, prostitution, human trafficking and blackmail of political/law officials. You can also purchase and run front business that will launder your money like cab company, car wash, fast food etc.More in depth weapon customization would be cool. GTA V had the right idea with attachments but i want GTA 6 to go further and allow us to choose the material a gun is made out of if relevant, like a wooden AK or polymer AK, whether a gun has a railed handguard or not, carry handle or railed top etc. More optic choices would be great too, like Eotech holosight, ACOG, Red dot and infrared scopes for purchase instead of being mission exclusive.Being able to choose the material of a guns magazine would be cool too, like P-Mag or standard STANAG. We should also have the option to use jungle style mags taped togetherAlso a variety of finishes unique to each gun would be great too. For example an AK would have an aged battleworn finish, while an M4 can use tan Magpul furniture. Rockstar should also record real guns if they haven't yet, so they can capture the unique sound a gun has. Also, they should make the gun sound much louder if fired in a really enclosed space or car, with the possibility of brief ear ringing. .Ryan.
I've always thought a GTA set in Boston would be really cool. It would have a singular protagonist because multiple protagonists in GTA V killed each protagonist's potential to grow and evolve IMO. Side missions more akin of GTA IV/EFLC that are actually related to CRIME and no stupid, occupational based side missions like the 3D era. Probably modern and I would love to see references to The Departed because that movie was the sh*t and one of my all time favourite Scorcese flicks. DimitriFaustin
I honestly do not know if 300 million would be enough... but here's ideas I have on my back burner... (all are SP ideas, for what they're worth) - Two "Episodes from Los Santos" games for GTA V, in the vein of "Episodes from Liberty City" for IV. The two game's protagonists respectively would be Martin Madrazo and Johannes Van Hardenburg. Martin Madrazo - The game would be called "Border of Disorder" set in V's game world in 2011, two years before the events of Online and V. Martin strikes me as a person who still wants people to be aware of his relevance in the criminal underworld, and would set out to make a name for himself as true success means having nothing to lose in the end. He'd probably team up with the likes of people such as Lester Crest and embark on heists, and his antagonists having forced him to leave Mexico during the prologue. When Martin finally achieves his ideal of being a force to be reckoned with, his antagonists would track him down and he would get his revenge in the end. His special ability would be called "Gun Jam," in which enemy fire temporarily ceases while Martin and his allies can rather effortlessly eliminate their enemies. Overall, this game has the player be behind the scenes to explain how we have the Madrazo Cartel in the GTA series. Johannes Van Hardenburg - The game would be called "Judgment Day," (for lack of better name), and features the younger brother of Frickie Van Hardenburg go all out on a quest to avenge being betrayed by Karen Daniels fifteen years ago, in a robbery that got him time in state prison while Karen "got her life back." His personality would be one of entitlement but also one of determination and loyalty to those close to him. This game would also be set in the game world of V, one year after the events of V with Ending C being the canonical ending. His special ability allows him to have incredible accuracy with weapons both on foot and in any vehicle (this would apply to vehicles such as the P-996 LAZER's cannons and missile system), and is the only GTA V-era protagonist to have a special ability both on foot and in a vehicle. Now, if I could travel in time as well , I'd probably make a pitch to Rockstar/DMA to make GTA 64 for the N64 console as one more go for the 2D games before moving on with GTA III. - The game would be set in Chicago in 1957. While not as bad as the Al Capone days, this setting would be ideal as paranoia and corruption were problems back in the '50s. The dominant gang would be of course the Chicago Mob, operating in a similar vein to GTA 2's Zaibatsu Corporation. The map's size is basically the size of GTA 2's, but with two districts - Downtown and Suburbia. - The game would essentially be a GTA 2-style game featuring the "Respect is Everything" concept, where the player must earn the trust of various gangs to perform jobs. - The game's protagonist would be Dwayne Sullivan, a character with an Ed Gein-like background from Wisconsin who seeks to eliminate the gangs of Chicago by winning their trust, secretly working with all of them, and managing to eliminate their leaders to become the number one leader of the city's criminal underworld, using the gangs as if it were a string-puppet show. Just like Claude Speed's adventures in Anywhere City. - I might unveil my GTA 64 concept here someday. These concepts I've come up with are, in a nutshell, sales pitches and nothing more. I'd be greatly shocked if this ever became a reality. fftlate
- My GTA will be a SP focused. There will be only one protagonist, and alot of important choices the player could make, influencing the game. A dark story, something really realistic and enough time for development, in order to know the protoganist and be attached to him. - 2 cities with many interiors, stuff you can buy, events in thoses interiors... The first would be like Vice City but enlarged, with new buildings, hôtels, a mall etc. Attached to this city, a small island (same size or a bit bigger than North Yankton) looking like Las Vegas (lot of casinos etc). The second city would be like Chicago with alot of vegetation in the city (trees, parks...) and a beyond the city, a wild space with big forests, large water bodies, small towns. - The story would take place in 2016, it allows multiple possibilities (internet, cellphones, jet etc). - Neil Fletcher is a respectable IAA agent. His post allows him to make things change in the city, he can make a carriere as he can destroy one. In the past, he helped his step brother, a major drug dealer, to hide from the police. After this, they did not keep seeing each other. Of course, nobody knows that him and the drug dealer are family. But one day, the drug dealer get caught. He says that he knows things about Neil Fletcher, and he wants a deal to avoid prison. Quickly alerted by one of his friend, Neil Fletcher moves in the second city. He'll have to work with alot of people, alot of criminals in order to have some protections, enough things to take his life back. (Along the story, the seasons will pass, so in a period it will snow, then rain, trees will lose their leaves etc). Not A Nice Person
- Is it SP or MP focused? Singleplayer focused, 90 missions, however with basic Online presence with friendly and hard lobbies. It will feature advanved character creation. - Do you have multiple protags? Multiple protagonists, one is a Middle Eastern/Eastern European male from a Jordanian gang looking to seek what happened to his brother and retrieve leadership of the gang. A white female seeking vengance for her husbands death (her enemies are the enemy of the Jordanian mafia). They meet after 4 or so missions, each having their own solo missions before they meet. They have doubts about each other at first but eventually view each other as brother and sister. (Since theirs were killed) Kilian - 31, weapon expert, etc Emilie - 25, acrobatic expert and driver etc. - Is there multiple cities? One major city based on Toronto, with surrounding countryside/archipelagos. The map will be a coastal vibe. - Where is your GTA set? ^ - How big is your map? 2x bigger than V. - What's the theme? Theme is about redemption and forgiveness, with indirect meanings of "Don't let your past be your future". The tone is serious with a comical overtone, it will be nothing a GTA has ever been, which will help the series evolve. DarkSavageDeathlyCloud
hmm interesting To be fail though, i need more money then that to call it limitless. the setup: multiplayer COMBINED with singleplayer First of all, several playable characters, but one being the main and the others being side characters. And after the story is done, people who finished can go and "live" in the world created by the singleplayer characters.....people with limited editions can play with one of the side characters. to make sure there is space for everything , the game will include 2 disks, one for single player, one for multiplayer. There will be one basic map, set in Los santos, though it will also be partially based on other cities and have loads of underground areas and interiors. There will be parts of sea and water and canals were you will be able to swim in, but it will be way less detailed then in GTA5 and there will be sharks automaticly killing you when you go to deep. That first map also will be urban only....there will barely be any green areas There would be how ever be other maps coming in map packs for both SP and MP mode, though the idea will be that the sity of Los Santos will have the most stuff going on. First map pack would be the san andreas map pack...it will include the greatest map expansion of all...consisting out of a map containing hills, mountains, pine woods and a desert and beyond the mountains even snow inviroment. second map pack will contain a nod to dubai area...this will be an insane place with islands in the forms of palm trees and such, just like the real thing, along with an extra city and besides that, endless desert until you come to a point were you just dry out and die and respawn back to the main city third map pack will contain nods to china and maybe also japan and the forth will be south america based, with favela's, jungles and such. Also you can fly from one map to an other trough taking a plane and flying into a certain direction or "buying" a ticket at airports . Further those areas/maps will have their own rare cars or common cars and own kind of wildlife. And one should be able to transport such things and sell them, if one got the right vehicles. Imagen for an example buying cargo planes and such for transporting cars and vehicles and either selling or keeping those, but only in multiplayer....singleplayer should be a minor thing, though one should be perfectly capable to go and do most activities on their own in private sessions....single player should just exist for the few people who like repeating certain single player specific missions or do single player only sidemissions....which can unlock content that can then be brought over trough online. Further, freeroam should be something good this time....first of all there should be dedicated servers and balancing. Though it still should be possible to buy aircraft, the airports(2 to 5 on each map) should be far and between from eachother and said armed vehicles should not be overpowered against other players, so they rather become vehicles useful for doing certain missions ingame, instead of grieving tools. also co op should be a huge thing...most armed and special vehicles should be working the best...or only when multiple players are involved, but the reward of such co op should be high. for an example: the implementing of a mission in which you need to steal vehicles in the dubai based world....one person only that would mean you have to hire yourself some NPC's that can be unreliable, as in one hacker and one pilot, and you yourself need to break in, get in a car and drive it out of there. Yet if you are with multiple players there should be an added bonus and one player can play pilot while an other can like a minigame that gets harder the longer it takes, like maybe a variation of opperation, but with wiring, or maybe just a symbol game were a symbol has to be pressed within a certain amount of time before it fills up a bar, but doing that gets harder every minute until the bar starts filling completely and an allarm goes off...or maybe even more players to be involved to steal multiple cars...or a 2nd pilot in a heli and the objective being you need to break a window and then the heli lifts cars from there.... of course, saying that, story mode should go trough most, if not all of such style missions and objectives so that nobody who comes into gtao will be a complete useless noob. This is to filter out idiots and children. besides that, like said, selling exotic and non exotic animals should be an option to, dead and alive....i really would like to implement proper hunting in the game along with fishing. same for a few legal jobs like being cop, firefighter or taxi driver.....or mercenary or soldier....and if one tries out everything out at least once, they should get extra's to some special things. i then think about the uniforms, a few special weapons(special elephant hunting rifle, magnum hunting rifle, heavy revolver, police style modifications for a sniper rifle and shotgun, millitary modifications for weapons), unlimited access to those areas(fire station, police station, military base) for at least a while and just getting access to certain special NPC's that can give side missions....you know, make people search for things and make everything interesting. There has to be interaction, even if it comes at the cost of a graphic quality somewhat....or the amount of players per session....or maybe certain bigger missions just open up in private sessions. At least i would not like a freeroam that is again crowded with other players for sure. skramzkid 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/875610-you-have-300-million-budget-make-a-gta/#findComment-1069304442 Share on other sites
joyrider00
-My fantasy GTA is set in Great Lakes area where there are two cities inspired by Chicago and Detroit. You can guess which one is more prosperous and well maintained city. The cities are physically separated by a lake but a highway connects the cities and it runs at southern part of the map. The map also includes rural areas between the cities. -the game takes place in the mid 70s -Two protags; Bonnie & Clyde/Mickey & Mallory Cox (maybe without homicidal tendencies), styled duo. Male protag is a Vietnam vet who gets fired from his job at car factory because of stealing, punching his boss or something. The female protag has some other menial job. Having difficulties paying the bills, the duo decides to try the life of crime. -You can play the whole game thru one protags perspective or switch between them like in V. Depending on the protagonist you choose for the missions, it would give various ways to complete them and different dialogues etc. For example male protag could rambo his way to the objective and female could seduce the bad guys and then silently take them out. -The story is about how a small time criminal duo will become a national sensation for "fighting the man". Store hold-ups escalate to heists. And heists get bigger and more grandiose each time. The duo on the other hand will get more obsessed with money and fame (of course they manage to keep their anonymity). Its up to a player if the protags manage to ride into the sunset with fortune or die in the hail of bullets. -I dont give a rats ass about multiplayer so the game will be singleplayer focused. Maybe GTA IV style multiplayer is okay-ish. Shadowfennekin
- Is it SP or MP focused? - Do you have multiple protags? - Is there multiple cities? - Where is your GTA set? - How big is your map? - What's the theme? SP and MP, 50/50 split. Online gets updated and Single player gets the stuff too. With SP DLC being released occasionally and implanting DLC cars into FR spawning and game play. Along with locking new things behind SP DLC so MP players have to buy it too if they want everything. Absolutely NO Adversary modes or forced PvP in MP. Two, a white male(Cause we don't have one in the HD universe that is 100% alive no matter what Protagonist wise) wanting to make his way to the top and have a criminal empire. And a corrupt cop who plays an antagonistic role at the start but the two end up working together to take down a bigger threat, creating an alliance that lasts the end of the game. The DLC adds new characters to play with though, a Racer. And a bank robber, all with their own stories that interwine with the main game's events in a way but still have their own world and characters Just Vice City At least LS size. But less mountains and empty space. And more interiors Building an empire, selling drugs/crack, pimping hos, bringing down the mob, creating a corrupt branch of control over the city with the chief of police(the cop later in his story), and the mayor in your pocket. And Niko/Roman make a cameo appearance, Trevor gets a mention of his business doing well, another Michael De Santa film is available on TV/Movies, the cop shoots Luis Lopez. Can't think of anything for Franklin, but just showing all the other Protagonists are still kicking. Except Luis, who I just don't like. éX-Driver
I suppose if I went the traditional GTA approach, it'd be in Vice City and the surrounding south Florida area. There'd only be one playable character, a Cuban immigrant. Was a guerrilla fighter in Cuba, trying to overthrow the communist regime. But during a massive fight was forced to flee the country to make it to the United States, in the process leaving her family behind. Recognising her skill in combat, the US government agrees to extract her family from Cuba in exchange for her working for them to try to expel the drug cartels that have strong ties with the regime in Cuba. The cartels that are too powerful for the government to be able to touch. Meanwhile, the cartels recognise the player's ability as well and feel they could use them to their advantage in their own wars between each other. The map would be not only Miami but also the Everglades, the Keys, and a part of Cuba in specific missions. Whilst singleplayer would be a serious experience, multiplayer would be whatever the players wanted. They could make it as serious or silly as they'd like. If I went with something that I wanted to do, it would be a parody of London, Glasgow, and Belfast, circa 1972. The player character is a Geordie street thug looking for his lot in life. Grew up poor and seeing his government not give a sh*t about the working class such as his family, and has one hell of a chip on his shoulder for it. It would deal with the various drug and robbery gangs of the time. The downfall of Swinging London, coming to terms with the fact that for the first time in centuries the United Kingdom isn't the cultural and economical centre of the world, and the start of the Troubles in N. Ireland. Time period rife with turmoil and crime as people try to figure out how to deal with a changing world. The London and Glasgow parody being on the same island, whilst the Belfast parody is on its own island to the west that requires a boat or plane to get to. EthanMiller
- Is it SP or MP focused? - Do you have multiple protags? - Is there multiple cities? - Where is your GTA set? - How big is your map? - What's the theme? SP/MP focused 50-50 split SP gets updates such as stories like TLAD & TBOGT MP gets updates as well such as Import/Export & Finance and Felony but each other gets content from one another such as Vehicles Weapons Clothing Ect. One protagonist that has an fully explained & interesting backstory and end goal I also want the character to start out as a yes man who doesn't want to do crimes like Franklin but be a badass stone cold killer like Tommy by the end. Multiple big sprawling cities with huge countryside & small towns. Set in San Fierro with a big lush forest & wilderness and Las Venturas with a big open desert. Map is bigger than GTA SA GTA 4 RDR & GTA 5 Combined. The theme is kinda like a typical rags to riches tale set in the present day but I'm gonna go a little in depth here so you start out as kind of a low life criminal who escapes from prison in Liberty City with his best friend and flees to San Fierro where he gets hooked up with a local mob boss who he does missions for and gets money from but than the mob boss betrays him and rats him out to the cops and so our character has to flee to the forest and hide out there where he does jobs and crimes for a crazy redneck such as burning down houses wiping out a drug cartel and battling a gang. he then goes to Las Venturas where he is slowly starting to move up in the crime world he meets a casino owner and does some more low level crimes but than he starts to do bigger crimes such as heists, stealing expensive cars, and killing big people. The casino owner than sells you out for money so you again have to flee to the desert where you meet a paranoid hippie and you do really weird jobs such as stealing weird unknown stuff and rescuing him from the FIB and all kinds of weird stuff you than go back to Las Venturas where you start to plan your revenge with your 3 buddies (your best friend the redneck and the hippie) the final mission then consists of you going back to San Fierro to kill the mob boss who ratted you out where you get into a huge gun fight with the mob at his mansion you then find the boss and you kill him you then try to go to Las Venturas but you get cops on you so you get a 4 star wanted level so you are going to Las Venturas with a buch of cops on your tail you then get to the casino where another huge gunfight erupts with the casino guards and gangs protecting the owner you then kill all the guards and gang members and find the owner you kill him and you then have to lose your wanted level and after that you get a cool cutscene with you and your three buddies pretty much chilling out and the game ends and your character is rich and famous. I also want the game to be a long game with a lot of missions like say 130 main story missions with 50 side missions and I want a lot of cheats and character customization like San Andreas I also want a lot of side activities for each location such as San Fierro has like drag racing The Forest has hunting The Desert has Off-roading and Las Venturas has boxing (these are just some examples not the only activities) How'd I do? LincolnClay
My little take on a GTA game: - Is it SP or MP focused? SP focused. - Do you have multiple protagonists? Yes. Two of them. One being male, the other being female. - Is there multiple cities? No. Only one. It's in...wait for it... - Where is your GTA set? ...Vice City - How big is your map? About as big as GTA V's. Maybe a little more. - What's the theme? Surprisingly not set in the 80's for a Vice City game. It's a modern setting. Anyways, it's pretty much about the drugs in the city. Building a drug empire. Also, it has a comedic (not over the top, but has some funny dialogue). Official General
- Is it SP or MP focused? SP focused all the way, all the best features will feature in SP only. SP will be a long main story like IV or SA was, but very interesting and entertaining enough to follow, and keep the player glued to the game. SP will have plenty of crime-related side missions to maintain a high level of replay value - stuff like drug-dealing, drug trafficking, gun-running, street robberies, store hold-ups, burglaries, car thefts, cargo truck hijacking, enforcer/security work, pimping, assassinations, business empire-building, vigilante/private detective work, and more. Funs side activities in SP will include everything seen in previous GTAs, like pool, darts, bowling, golf, basketball, dating, eating out, drinking, gambling, dancing, strip clubs, helicopter rides etc. SP will have extended customization options on vehicles and safehouses. MP will be nothing else more than a variation of simple team deathmatches, captures, races, etc. - Do you have multiple protags? Yes, 3 but in a IV&EFLC kind of way, each with separate games and separate stories intertwined with each other at certain points. One main protagonist with a big story and role, with two supporting protagonists with smaller stories and lesser roles. - Is there multiple cities? Yes, but probably the main city and only just one other city, with many small towns and settlements. My choice for this is connected to my chosen location setting. - Where is your GTA set? Vice City and the immediate regions surrounding it, a second city, small towns, countryside, wilderness, coastlines, nearby islands. Based on Miami-Dade metro area in South Florida, with Miami, just one other city, Fort Lauderdale, and all surrounding towns, also the Everglades and Florida Keys. That part of South Florida does not have many big cities apart from Miami and Fort Lauderdale. The time period it would be set in is present-day. - How big is your map? Somewhere in between IV and V. Bigger than IV's map, but smaller than V's map. Both cities and every town or settlement will all have a good amount and variety of enterable, lively interiors that can be accessed at anytime - essentially including all public buildings like police stations, hospitals etc, banks, restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclubs, strip clubs, convenience stores, all kinds of retail stores, entertainment, sports, and leisure venues, and more. All interiors will be fully interactive too. The countryside will feel more like it's supposed to this time, with farm animals roaming everywhere. The wilderness will have wildlife like in V, but done better with more variety. Underwater sections will be retained, but more tropically colourful and vibrant, with coral reefs and more visible, thriving sea life. - What's the theme? The central theme will be the illegal drug trade and will be titled " Looking For New Pastures In A City Of Paradise". Basically, a Hispanic-American male in his late 20s and ex-gang member of the Spanish Lords, from Liberty City decides he's had enough of small-time hustling/selling drugs on the concrete streets of cold, grey and dark LC, and dreams of moving to the sunny, tropical paradise of Vice City for a better life. At first his intentions are to live a simple, law-abiding life (as he's on parole), but on arrival in VC, he gradually gets sucked back into his old life of crime that will dramatically change the course of his life forever. All other main aspects of organized crime will be thoroughly covered too - including street gangs, mafias, mobs, corrupt cops and city officials, crooked lawyers and businessmen, etc. The vibrant VC nightlife and entertainment scene will be heavily touched on too. Mr_Human_Guy
White screen that has "Thanks for the money nerd" written in black text. Then you have to pay for the actual game using sharkcards. Than use half of the money on marketing the other half on.. Personal use. But seriously I would make the map 2× Larger than Los Santos in Gta 5, will make the game a solo protagonist so I can flesh out the character. Fix the driving systems in Gta 5 making it a more grounded system but not overkilling it like gta 4 "no offense 4 fans admit the driving was kinda busted" And make multiplayer a fair system by driving a steak in the heart of shark cards and lowering the cost of the prices so you dont have to grind for weeks for that cool gun or yacht Fewpolecat93 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/875610-you-have-300-million-budget-make-a-gta/#findComment-1069366181 Share on other sites

BS_BlackScout
There goes my sh*tty vision of a GTA: - Is it SP or MP focused? SP, although both Single-Player and Multi-Player will receive the same content. CO-OP mode as well, SR3 style. And an MP based on the molds of GTA IV. - Do you have multiple protags? Yes. The other 2 will come as Full Story separate paid DLC's. - Is there multiple cities? There's a main city with smaller ones surrounding the area, Watch_Dogs 2 style. - Where is your GTA set? Real Life this time. Los Angeles County. (HURRRR DURRR, GTAV, Yeah, I love LA, so f*ck it.). Fiction has been the base of Grand Theft Auto ever since ever, however, a real place would be nice. It should also feature adjacent areas. Again, WD2 style. - How big is your map? Big enough to fit in main LA with a generous size. Bigger than GTA V's LS including adjacent cities and some countryside. Attention to detail is of utmost importance. - What's the theme? You're some sort of 007. I'm not good at coming up with such ideas. Use your imagination. Pedinhuh
- SP focused, with both offline and online multiplayer, online multiplayer can be on the molds of GTA Online, but with dedicated servers instead of P2P bullsh*t. -2 protagonists: A 30 years old african-american gangster, with a big aspiration to become the city's next kingpin, he will torture or murder anyone he has to rise up the ranks in the criminal underworld, bribe who ever he has to bribe and betray who ever he has to betray, he is aware that he is not a good person, whatever good he had in him was taken away when a dirty cop murdered his father for paying protection money, right in front of his face. The second protagonist is a 25 to 30 years old female police detective who went rogue and is on the verge of losing her badge, she wants to track down and either murder or stop the killer of her father and his task force, and also try to make the city she lives a better place, but her means to reach her goals are...Questionable. -Yes, San Fierro and its surrounding area, along with a Silicon Valley knock-off so yeah, there will be multiple cities, the current Southern San Andreas map while having it's issues still is a incredibly detailed place that should not be wasted, so it will be reused in this game, along with the Northern part of San Andreas, making the state whole again since GTA:SA. -Like I said, with will be the whole San Andreas state, excluding Las Venturas because IMO Las Venturas deserves its own separate state. Since we already know Los Santos like the back of our hands, the focus will be on San Fierro and its surrounding cities, if course, there will be missions on LS aswell, but that place won't be the focus of this game. -Northern San Andreas map should habe the same size of Southern San Andreas, only difference is that it would feel bigger because the vegetation would be more varied, snowy peaks on the northerm most part of the map with dense forests surrounding it, no circular highway system, only a main highway that would pass near all the smaller cities until it reached San Fierro, and something that I personally love: a simple, two lane highway that goes through the snowy peaks and goes down the coast, that it would properly resemble the Big Sur Highway. -Theme should be, mostly, how crime affects the lives of not only the protagonists, but the people around them and maybe even the city they live in, how they change in such a way that doesn't make them recognizable for those who knewn them before them. Also, it should deal with consequences, something that incredible lacking in V, that game ends like it is a f*cking fairy tale, its weak. The life of crime can have its glamour and power but it also has great consequences for those who decide to take on it. Obviously one largest city with two or three smaller ones and spread throughout the map that countryside, small towns and whatnot are in between (and some outside on the corners) Quote - Where is your GTA set? Now that's some controversial take but outside of the US. European cities or Asian ones. Perhaps also Latin America or Africa. They still can be satirised to some degree or maybe it just won't be a typical GTA anymore but something else with similar look, feel and features. Maybe it's also just me kind of tired of the oversaturating US only locations in such action open world games (I mean yeah guns usually are a big factor). Also because of the architecture, road layouts and culture. Quote - How big is your map? The size of FUEL. I kid.. but maybe even some size like Just Cause if it's just as detailed as RDR2? Insane amount of work though. No, something like 2x of V is still pretty large.
