The Benz Gone = Better DLC's?

Just curious what your opinions on this are. This may not be the popular opinion, but I have a feeling the DLC's are getting better now that Rockstar has cut ties with The Benz. It just seems that now that he's out of the picture, a lot of DLC content the community has been asking for has now come about.

 

What are your thoughts?

My opinion is that this forum's idea of what The Benz did at rockstar is very inflated. A lot of people seem to have the idea that he was the sole hero of Rockstar who made everything singlehandedly somehow.

 

I don't actually know what he was or was not put in charge of - probably nobody but employees really do - but I don't think that one man could have that much of an effect on the quality (or lack thereof) of DLCs.

I think he may have been holding the franchise back. I think he may have wanted to keep the game more pure. I think he had a big final say in what was released and what wasn't. There's little things I'm noticing like being able to spawn a Helicopter just like a mod menu. We can do that now and I can't help but think The Benz was not in favor of changes like this.

The reason the updates got better was not because of Benz being cut off, it's because Online became more profitable after Heists got released and Rockstar stopped giving updates to old gen as it was the actual reasons why the updates were barebones compared to now.

 

Without Benz, your precious Online wouldn't have existed in the first place, stop blaming him for something he had no control of.

Given that he went on sabbatical under a year after the initial release of GTA V, before it was even released on current gen consoles and he was supposedly locked out of the office afterwards. It's hard say how much of an impact his departure had. By the time he left, Rockstar was only just getting used to the cycle of updates for GTA Online, and of course current gen systems allowed them to expand updates beyond anything before it. Maybe we wouldn't have the same type of content within updates, but I sincerely doubt that updates wouldn't have improved beyond what was provided in previous gen updates if the Benz was still at Rockstar.

I don't know about this... because frankly, the last game with all of the Benz was GTA 4... I know he was involved in 5, but wasn't he on sabbatical for some of it? and then they had all their issues etc... but anyway, GTA 4 was a better game mechanically than GTA 5, so not sure what I prefer..

 

either way, it could just be down to the fact that the game is 3 years old, has more power to play with as far as consoles go, there are more ideas from the community (which I am convinced R* use).

 

This was my favourite DLC so far that's for sure but it still didn't change the most important problems... Option to turn cops off, option to turn blips off, and remove the ridiculously noob friendly OP explosive cannon from the Jets, and replace with buzzard cannon.

 

Until those are dealt with, it'll be the same GTA sh*t...

 

What's the point bringing out a DLC that 1 guy in a fighter jet can single handily ruin for 29 people in a lobby?

I don't think the updates are better, from an entirely objective standpoint. An entire portion of the game is being neglected (PvE missions), adversary modes are entirely hit or miss, mostly miss, and the last update had half of it just so terribly thought out that I wanna smash my face in just thinking about stupidity like that existing. Not to mention the bugs aren't going away and hampering gameplay. I wouldn't say that they're all together terrible, but the first few updates were far superior in my opinion.
