Use guns while inside ruiner?

Recommended Posts

Is there some way i am not seeing to use your own guns while inside these vehicles that have built in guns? It's pretty annoying paying 6mil for the thing just for it to run out of rockets and you be at the mercy of everyone else with nothing but the trash machine guns. The machine gun is basically useless and i would love to be able to pull the AP pistol out when im out of rockets. Please tell me there is some way to do this that im just not aware of.

Sounds like you deserve to be at their mercy haha

Why is that exactly? Because i used the 10 rockets this thing comes with while tanks, jets, insurgents and everything else runs around with unlimited ammo for a fraction of the price? This thing would probably be OP with unlimited missiles that have no cooldown but the fact i can't even use sticky bombs or anything from the car is idiotic for its price tag.

Unfortunately, no. A lot of the new cars need a buff. The limit on rockets is stupid. At least give us the Savage/Hydra's machine gun turret.

Yeah alot of these new vehicles looked amazing but then you buy them and its a joke.

Ruiner = 10 rockets then forced to use useless machine gun and can't even use your own guns. No bulletproof glass, explosive armor or anything either.

Blazer = ^ Cool that it goes in the water but the machine gun is yet again useless, especially bouncing in waves you will never hit anything.

Ramp Car = Wow what a ramp car, you ramp 20 cars or so and the damn thing is broken and falls apart, what a joke. Oh and the customizations are horrible, you can't even actually paint the thing properly.

Phantom Wedge = Gets knocked all over the place half the time instead of knocking cars out of your way and oh it dies to one explosive.

Boxville = What exactly is the point of putting all the trash welded to it when one single explosive wrecks it? Something like this for 3mil should be able to soak a few explosions. This is almsot a repeat of the brickade, you look at it expecting it to tank and then the thing is a joke.

Wastelander = From what i can tell completely useless vehicle? Good for off-roading but from what i read you can't load a car into it so what exactly is the point of this vehicle? Might as well use a bike or any assortment of other vehicles that off-road just as good if not better and aren't a HUGE target for missiles.

Machine guns are amazing, go on free aim.

What? I play on PC and i don't use a controller so how i set them to actually be able to aim them?

That kind of canon on a fast not to big land vehicle ?

Lets not

I say lets, considering that car itself is literally trash and explodes upon one explosive + windows aren't bulletproof and it's like 5m. What a waste a money, give it something very powerful because right now the only thing it's good for is the parachute when gliding off a mountain.

Why would you ask for the game to get MORE unbalanced, lol? Especially on the current most expensive land vehicle? Adding exploding cannons is an awful idea.

Because, if they aren't going to give us unlimited rockets which should have been the situation from the start should should do the next best thing. You're acting as if the car would have impeccable aim when shooting a cannon but it won't be able to shoot sh*t with it bouncing all over the road + traffic and props + blowing itself up when exploding sh*t in-front of it. Lol.

And you're acting like the explosive cannon does not instantly explode anything it comes into contact with (doesn't even require contact a lot of the time).

The rocket limit is the saving grace that makes this car balanced, infinite homing rockets on a land vehicle is just a terrible idea.

Sure it does, use a cannon on another vehicle (traffic everywhere) = Ruiner goes ka-boom.

It would only be very powerful on a tarmac or something.

Let me switch to normal guns and i don't care about there being a limit to rockets. I care about being forced to use the garbage machine gun.

Other players get electrocuted if they want to steal it, this car is perfectly capable hunting and destroying any vehicle, it can parachute....i am still gonna buy it regardless.

Besides...the vehicle costs money to blow up so its great it has no bullet proof windows.

Maybe it should be able to survive 1 explosive...but thats it.

To be fair i think what they do improves game play fun but at the same time it is lazy and completely driven by shark cards. Obviously it has to be based on selling shark cards for the DLC to be free but what the one guy is pointing out is the fact that the ruiner isn't even a new car model. I ultimately find their implementation of these vehicles to be very lazy mainly because of the fact you can't switch to normal guns or stickys while driving the ruiner/blazer. I also consider it a bad implementation because of what i listed above. The ramp car blows up after ramping other vehicles, ruiner can't withstand a single explosive and offers 0 protection to the driver, box is supposedly armored but dies to a single explosion. You can't use these vehicles during missions or heists so obviously the use is vs other players and gee i wonder what other players are going to do if someone rolls up on them in a big "armored" vehicle that has a mounted machine gun? Perhaps rocket it and boom 3 people dead. This should not be an option for an armored vehicle. I didn't expect insurgent levels of durability but its a joke how the box is now. Then we look at the other vehicles, phantom wedge/wastelander = useless.

These aren't just bugs or whatever either. These are thought out limitations purposely put on these vehicles. Notice there is no armor upgrade for the ramp car because they want it to not last long so people can't use it much. Wastelander can't carry other cars because they would make too much sense. No ability to switch to actual guns in the ruiner/blazer lol? I recall seeing a mod menu do this better ffs, how does rockstar fail so badly with this?

I love these DLCs and get very excited for them but then i login and its like wtf, 10 rockets and its out for 6mil, then i think eh thats ok it would be rigged with unlimited ill just use my own guns and use its missiles when a jet bothers me or w/e. Ohh wait nevermind you don't have that option its literally use your rockets then drive the entire way across the map for more. Then someone shot it with one rocket and blew it up, which left me wondering wtf, kind of like when i rolled the thing and every window in it shattered and it became apparent this thing is nothing but a base ruiner with rockets and a useless machine gun.

Give it guns with a damage level of the technical or insurgent MG and it should be good. Not an instant kill, but can quickly mow down targets if it stays on target.

Yes, with how much trouble it is to aim it should certainly do alot more damage than it does. Right now its a bad joke.

When we first learned from R*Fegget that we'd have a jumping, missile-shooting parachute car with quasi-PV status, people were going nuts about it being totally OP and ruining the game. Now that we found out that R* made something of an effort to balance it, everyone is now complaining it's not a replacement for the Hydra.

I mean, have any of you really thought through what free roam would be like if this thing had better machine guns, infinite homing missiles, Insurgent armour, and the ability to throw stickies out the window? May as well just use a mod menu.

Surely with the knowledge that it only has a couple of missiles in free mode means you'll use them sparingly? Pull out your little Ruiner when you want to make an explosive entrance somewhere. Or maybe even when some inexperienced pilot flies too low around the city. If you want consistent utility go for regular Pegasus vehicles. You've got the Insurgent, Buzzard, Hydra. Hell, grab a Rhino.

If you want protection, armoured PV's are around for that. And if you want crazy destruction, grab the thing everyone's complaining about and stay in the air.

You've got options! Yeah, I wish the special vehicles weren't limited in free mode too, especially since they don't seem to be very resilient anyway. But since that probably won't happen, just adapt. Only way you're going to have fun with a multi million dollar investment.

What lol? Are you trying to tell me it's fine that basically all the new vehicles are disappointing because we can just use old Pegasus vehicles? What is the point of new dlc when the content is useless. I wasn't asking for the ruiner to be rigged im asking to have access to the same set of tools I do in any trash car I steal off the street in the car I just spent 6mil on. The fact I can't use actual guns to get people out of stolen cars while in the ruiner is absolutely ridiculous. Unlimited rockets would be op, being able to aim the machine guns or use personal weapons while in the ruiner is not op, it's common sense and should be expected.

Look at these other vehicles too I suppose once someone buys a ramp car and the piece of sh*t blows up after ramping 20 cars they can just pull out their insurgent if they want durability right? Armored boxer is a bad joke too. Armored but yet can't even take a single explosive, almost as big of a joke as the brickade.

Where do you guys get off defending such idiotic changes? 6 million dollar car that doesn't even offer bullet proof glass, explosion resistance or the ability to use your own damn guns and you call this fair and good design?

R* Logic at it's finest. Pegasus vehicles and calling mechanic isn't available in Heists anyway so all it leaves is contact missions which R* have been sh*tting on for a while. I guess R* are encouraging free roam play with the new businesses but like you said, your a sitting duck with these new vehicles.

I tend to play a mixture of heists and contact missions but like me, many won't be buying them so lost potential shark cards there.

However I am enjoying the new missions which I'm really glad have been added and especially since the vehicles have been buffed. Ramp car doesn't blow up easily and ruiner 2000 has unlimited rockets for example.

Now all we need is the ability to load specific mission with a friend and just mess around.

It's just a damn shame that a dlc that should have easily been a home run ends up being this disappointing all because of idiotic limits. Did they honestly forget how to make a goddamn vehicle Armored these days? Brickade and boxer have me starting to think that.
