Yeah I/E is the sh*t. I spent about 2 million and already made it back up to 11 million. Got another 10 car garage, Infernus Classic, a third Elegy Retro, modded a bunch of cars, and I'm right back to where I was. 👍

This isn't really useful info and should be common sense but during Export missions, collisions and weapons deal 2x damage to the vehicle.

I've had a similar issue with police riding in the riot van. Its the situation where just as you are about to get to the pickup point for your goods, you receive a text telling you that the police have taken it but the stuff still has a tracker on it. So now you have to steal the police van.

So generally I am approaching these with my Buzzard. I'll spot the van on the street and land the buzzard in front of the NPC traffic vehicle that is moving along just in front of the police van. Since for some reason the van will always stop for a parked car, but will often just try to drive around the Buzzard if you land in front of it directly. (I'm providing all of this detail to get to my point...)

The point... So when I steal the van I walk right up to the drivers door and blast through the side window with a shotgun. Door opens, body falls, passenger slides over. Second shot kills passenger. After executing exactly this I watched from not more than two feet away as the dead body slumped over the steering wheel proceeded to shut the door and drive away like a bat out of hell. There was no killing him to stop him. He was dead. I had to steal a heavy vehicle and pin him against a guardrail so I could car jack him before I was able to retrieve my goods.

God damn dead people, man.

Don't shoot the driver & passenger. After you made the police van stop you simply open the driver's door to hijack the van.

Do you guys get out of the car and take out the chopper/npc car waves before heading back or just fcking book it?

I usually use a cargobob. For example, in the mission with the stunt jump through a hoop I use a buzzard (from a safe distance) to kill all the enemy NPCs who are near the Target Vehicle & after that I use a cargobob to steal the vehicle instead of doing the jump. The enemy helicopter that chases we to the warehouse does between 0 damage to around 2k damage. If you'll fly lower than the enemy helicopter but high enough that the enemy cars won't spawn you'll be ok damage wise.

This has been said many times in this topic but I will say it again. The stunt jump missions are super easy to do and you don't need a buzzard and no need for damage or a chopper following you back to your warehouse. Just sneak up by the ramp, wait for the roving security guy to turn his back and walk away, jump on the ramp quick, steal the car and make the jump, no shooting, stars or pursuing choppers.

I don't like doing the jump near the vinewood sign. Too many times I didn't land properly & the car was damaged.

I wouldn't say that--it's good to know how those things are calculated, so thanks!

While on that subject, when selling a Top Range vehicle, are there any shareable tips for avoiding the R* troll NPCs in solo public sessions (other than using the Cargobob)?

The best I've been able to come up with is ducking into a nearby alley (which protects the car against damage) the second the NPC troll waves appear and then taking out the NPCs.

Obviously not ideal, as you still lose time and some GTA$, but at least the car doesn't get damaged in the process, and the NPCs get killed on your terms and turf--not theirs.

And FWIW, one strategy I use for dodging the NPC chopper and car trolls on vehicle sourcing (when applicable) is ducking into the tunnels underneath the highway, and getting as close to my Vehicle Warehouse as possible before emerging. Just cuts down on damage and having to use expensive Homing Launchers or RPGs.

I tried different things:

- and I feel that the Cargobob is the best way to do it.

^ I use the highway and just drive past the f*ckers.

Backup plan is generally turret limo though, that thing f*cks up vehicles in no time and offers protection from the terminators.

I assume you mean that you get less damage on export missions than you do on import? I certainly do anyway.

For those Exporting from the La Mesa warehouse - take this route out of the warehouse.

M4A9BTV.png

Hide the car behind a white wall up a small grass verge, just before two red bins.

Jump out and over the wall and hide behind the bins. NPC cars will zoom past you, the guys will run up on you (mostly in the middle of the road) and you can take them all out easy from the cover of the bins.

I just sold 3 cars. Went and sourced 3 more in the meantime, then switched sessions after about 35 minutes or so of the 40 minute cool down and the timer reset when I switched sessions and went into check my warehouse computer! Anyone else experienced something like this?

The opposite.

Things that don't really do much of damage on import missions deal lots of damage on export missions.

I didn't find anything that mess with the traffic so it's still the same hardcoded traffic which is aimed to make the NPCs a bunch of assholes.

sell in a money lobby (similar to a solo lobby, but with a few people that you can tell are just gathering money and not trolling each other)....co-inhabitants, so to speak.

for whether to ditch the npc or just jam, it depends on the missions. i am still doing the same 10 standard/ 10 mid garage trick so every car is top. if i can jam and get less than 5k in damage, i am cool. but there are the same x amount of cars and heli's per every pick up. you can just jump in the car and get out and go into a safe place to get rid of the npc's then drive safely home.

it also depends on your value of $/ per hour. i have no problem taking more damage if i'm in a good lobby and just getting x amount of sale per hour to justify it. if i'm strapped for time or value the dollar on that day, i'll be more focused on taking out npc's.

do the 10/10 trick and get a public solo lobby with friends or people you can tell are co-existing (you want others in the lobby so that when you deliver npc's don't come after you). you'll get to a point where you can tell the car source mission based on where it's located on the map.

it's a grind, but easy money in between growing drugs and doing things like headhunter.

Yes that's how it acts. Once you switched session or log off and back on, timer will reset. You can check that easily by after logging in the game, you have a "fresh" timer. Sadly, but true (and R* logic).

Looks like they patched the barge and car meet missions.

The car will now blow up from buzzard rockets.

I don't know when they did this, I haven't been doing any I/E stuff for a month or so due to 2x missions and heists.

Today I blew up a car on a barge and a car in a car meet mission.

Across my 3 characters I have done well over 700 steal missions, that would make maybe 100 barge and car meet missions total.

And I never blown up the cars in these missions with my Buzzard, no matter how many rockets I spammed at enemies the car took 0 damage.

That's good to know for future reference. Sad for you, though :( Strange they'd patch that out of most things, but could be an unintended patch.

I think cars and vans with crates in them are supposed to be invulnerable/extra tanky before you have actually entered it to prevent players from blowing something up before you could even get the chance to get there.

Either way, a friend of mine might get a vehicle warehouse, but he's a bit short on cash and is waiting for a sale on the warehouses. I've helped him grind his wallets from time to time, but he feels it's a little daunting to fill the warehouse with 10/10 standard and mid range. I'm planning to help boost his warehouse up by sourcing cars and leaving them outside his so he can snag them, but eventually he risks ending up with duplicate top ranges which will mess it all up. I guess I'm going ot have to sell some standard and mid range to speed that process up. Shame, I'll miss those collections.

Wait, I can do that? Just export the standard buyer (no up front cost) and he can take it to his warehouse? Sweet! Thx, doc! :^:

Yeah picked that up here from someone, because the cars aren't modified from the Steal versions they can be stored by other CEOs :^:

I think they did it because the Buzzard method made those missions too easy.

Just like they patched that crate mission when you have to chase down 4 cars to see which one is holding your stuff.

Before you could just set your gps to special cargo and it would point out which car was holding, they removed that too.

Nothing has changed, has been like this since last December. You always had to make sure the target doesn't take cover next to the car. Mindlessly firing rockets always came with the chance of blowing up the car. Destroying the car on purpose has never been an issue. The quick GPS thing is a different story.

Like I said.

I've done something like 100 barge and car meet missions and never had a scratch to the car when spamming buzzard rockets at enemies no matter how close to the car they where.

Only buzzard rockets worked though, any other explosive would blow the car.

I doesn't matter now though since it's patched. :(

I've blown up several barge cars with my Buzzard for the purpose of not having to get the stupid Cargobob. Unless something's changed very recently, a direct hit on the car will damage it/blow it up, while anywhere else will leave it unharmed.

Maybe I never hit the car directly before, but that seems quite unlikely I just fire when the square is red.

Today I blew up the cars when doing it exactly like I did a hundred times before, so obviously something have changed.

If it's helpful to anyone, here's the La Mesa warehouse route/method I use (in solo sessions) for exporting vehicles which seems to work fairly well:

I actually dip in to the left slightly below and take cover behind the red dumpster. The Rockstar cars always seem to get a shot in if I take the right nook.

^^ Yeah--my experience too; it's a trade-off, really. The right side does offer more cover for the car though...

To break up the monotony, I occasionally toss a proximity mine in the middle of the road before the next batch of trolls arrive and watch the land-based comets go by. ;)
