It's funny that R* consider the Turismo R a standard car these days :) . I know it's because of its price, but still.

I'm not even sure what they look at when deciding which class to put it in. The Coquette Classic has a listed market value of 665k and is MID. The Banshee 900R has a market value of 670k and is a standard.

No Use For A Name

Are the bonuses already in effect?

I just sold a Valor for $150k/$30k. Not sure if it was considered a special vehicle, but I sold the same car from the same mission earlier and only got $100k

They're live, yes.

Expect them to end 1am Monday GMT, 8pm Sunday ET. Maybe later I guess.

Maybe it's already been known, but you CANNOT get in a cargo vehicle and also CANNOT hook it on before winning the race when you have to win the race and get a cargo vehicle. Ah yeah, it should be so, but it's slightly sad.

Since the system does not allow for duplicate cars, filling my warehouse with as many standard and mid-range cars has allowed me to now get top range vehicles at a very high percentage. It is definitely worth the time.

Apologies if this has been asked;

Does anyone know how to correctly do the mission where you steal a car from a movie set with a big ramp (the car has a boost)? My method is usually to sneak up, shoot the guards and get in but every time I still get a star and goons after me. The tooltip says to perform the stunt correctly to avoid detection but I never manage it. Am I supposed to sneak past the guards entirely and just drive off the edge?

I get these missions constantly, so I've got them all figured out. First thing you need to do is go through the yellow blip. This will ensure that the vision cones show up on your radar. Then just give everyone a wide herth and approach from the ramp. There's usually one guy patrolling while the others are all standing still. Make sure he's walking away and then slowly approach the car from the front. You'll be able to get in without any guards seeing you, and the rest of people will just assume you're the stunt driver. Hit the boost button and you're done. Nobody will come after you and you can enjoy a leisurely drive back to the warehouse. Or if you're really lazy like I am, park a Cargobob at the bottom of the jump. Once you've done these missions a few times you'll know exactly where that will be.

Just don't ever try shooting the guards. Someone will always see a dead body, and if they don't, they'll hear the bullet impacts on the trailers anyways. You don't need to be wearing anything special, you don't need to use stealth mode, just climb up the side of the ramp and approach the car from the front.

^ fwiw I don't activate the yellow marker and do the same, just get in the car without being seen. No pursuit.

I find it ridiculous that the timer for selling vehicles pauses if you close the game. I was rather busy Wednesday and Thursday, so when I logged on on Friday, the timer was still at around 10 minutes even though I haven't played the game for more than 48 hours. Absolutely disgusting by R*.

This was already confirmed days ago. It's fantastic. I am only getting top range cars, haven't had one of the other two categories for a long time. You just need enough standard/mid-range cars in the warehouse and obviously only sell top range.

Understood, just wanted to share in case anyone hadn't seen it yet. Works wonders and worth repeating.

And yes, the timer is bizarre. It doesn't work like that anywhere else in the game from what I can remember.

The sniping only works with 2 players sniping the guards next to each other, impossible by yourself.

Just sneak past the guards and kill the last one then do stunt with no helicopter

Does anyone know, was the Lester call option to remove wanted level during a steal mission disabled? Been using it every time you have to steal the car and the cops are there, now it's all greyed out and it says unavailable.

I know it's not from this update, but it is pertinent to stealing cars...is there any concrete difference between the two Cargobobs (aside from tow chain length)?

As for the movie set mission, I managed to sneak on the set and drive off. I was never followed. I was doing some stupid Speed Racer cosplay, but I'm sure that was not a contributing factor.

It was the Vinewood one so I came from below and climbed up the ramp when it was empty of guards.

If you're curious enough, Vice City Stories pretty much laid the ground work mechanics wise for Biker/CEO work. In VCS we had loan sharking, drug dealing, protection, etc and you could buy real estate of various sizes for various prices, there was also a turn over time/rate like we have with bikers. Basically, that stuff from VCS obviously laid the ground work and was the proto version of the Free roam work we have now. Was playing it the other night and was blown away by how similar the mechanics are. Pointless info, I know, but cool nonetheless IMO.

Remember people, when the first group of enemies spawn to bother you when selling your car there won't be new ones until you get too much distance between yourself and them.

If you're playing in an empty (no hostile players, at least) session and only have NPC's to worry about, consider not rushing to the delivery point as fast as possible. Especially now ofcourse the snow can make it difficult to keep your car whole (at least, judging by the driving skill of most players I've seen ingame) and with civilians freaking out all the time you don't want to end up drifting right into them. Slowing down a bit will make it easier to get through with as little damage as possible.

The enemies don't show up on the minimap anymore? Slow down a tad until the red dots come back. Just make sure there's at least one turn between you and them so they can't easily shoot you when they appear again. Making sure they don't despawn (guessing that happens after a while with too much distance) means you won't get new ones spawning ahead of you in potentially more troublesome locations. Like right in front of you in the vinewood hills.

TL:DR: Slow down! Keep the first enemies from despawning so you don't have to deal with fresh spawns ahead. Use some turns and make sure the red dots show up from time to time. You've got plenty of time.

EDIT: In SELL missions at least! For stealing I still prefer just taking out all the enemies before proceeding.

Is it possible to sell collections solo?

If not, what happens if a random player that "works for me" destroys a car during a sell? is it gone?

When selling? Is it possible? It's a true question because I never tried and guessed it was endless.

It is. You get 4 waves of 2 blue Sultan RS's.

Yes, and when you've done sell missions a number of times you'll learn how far away from your warehouse you need to go for them to start spawning. I quickly park the car at that spot - beside the road and not on it so the NPC's aren't likely to ram it when they panic. Usually I am out of the car before the first red circles appear on the minimap. I then run to the other side of the road so bullets won't hit the car when the enemies/bastards try to take me out. Never let the car be between you and them. I can often do it with zero damage to the car.

If you own the cheapest 1.5M warehouse, I have a safe spot that helps me get zero damage every time, no fails. It's an alley in the industrial part and where you park it's totally safe from NPC's from all angels, no bullet danger as well. And the best part, enemies spawn at the moment when you drive into this safe spot, it's bloody perfect. You get out, kill all 4 waves (you also have great cover) and drive off with no issues.

The red dot is the warehouse, the red star is where you park. On the way there, you'll go through some industrial building and have to go through two gates, but they don't damage the car as you push them open, so no worries.

I also noticed you can control which direction they spawn in on based on where you stand.

Oh yeah? I know that the first two always spawn on the main road, then the next 3 waves one comes from each side, one from the road and one from behind some industrial building. How do you affect it? Would be cool to always have them come from the same side.
