Didn't know about the turning in cars until just now. To the authorities, I mean. I was just driving to an MC business when I spotted an Osiris on the side of the road with two squad cars parked behind it. Clearly an objective of someone's vehicle source mission, I lightly tapped it to see if anything would happen, but nothing did. Checked the map a few times and noone came for it. Tapped it a few more times. After a while the sirens went off and they all just drove off peacefully. Because I was just messing around I rammed the car from behind (passive mode) and decided to wait and see if anyone would still collect it. Nobody came! After a while I just got in, got a timer for less than three minutes and a message saying I could turn it in to the nearest police station for money and RP.

Delivered it for I don't know how much RP and 5000 dollars. The Osiris was damaged from my hits ofcourse, but definitely not worth nearly 30k in damages so I'm guessing it's just a standard price you get. Interestingly enough, I could remain in passive mode the entire time.

Perhaps I should've tried driving it back to my own warehouse just to see (despite the repair bill I'd have to pay) if that was an option but I was very curious as to how this would go.

EDIT: At no point did I see any message that I was stealing a car from an organisation or anything. I'm guessing that maybe you can't deliver the car to your own warehouse unless another organisation had taken it first. Otherwise I'm not sure what the reason could be. Maybe it was sitting around (before it and the police drove off) for too long. I highly doubt the damage done before and after it started moving had anything to do with it, people have collected vehicles that had more damage than this one.

I've done more acquisitions and sales and it seems confirmed that Rockstar has countered the solo "public" session method with AI strength inversely proportional to the amount of other players in the lobby.

If you're in a busy lobby, then few or no NPCs will bother you.

If you're alone, expect multiple waves of NPCs to attack you, even with "standard" price vehicles.

So it's pick your poison:

  • Potentially deal with players that have access to Buzzards, Hydras, Homing Launchers, sticky bombs, sniper rifles, Off-radar, cover and other tactics, BST, snacks, and they will respawn. They may also steal the vehicle

-or-

  • Waves of NPCs with aim-bot power, traffic-dodging skills, police interference, occasional Buzzards (with minigun use), sniper-equipped helicopters, basic cover-taking skill, and will wait for you to start moving again before launching the next wave.

One very simple resolve to the AI...it's called the Cargobob.

I steal nearly 90% of my vehicles with the bob and deliver 100% of them with it. Furthermore, the Buzzards the AI use are under powered and slow. The only missions where they're truly a factor are the ones when you take them from the barge in the ocean and even then, so long as you don't mess around, the Buzzards are dispatched about 20 seconds later and you should be able to get back to your warehouse with pretty nominal damage to the car. I think the max damage the pursuing Buzzards have caused the car directly is about 3k, they tend to hit the Cargobob more. I've never had the Cargobob take enough damage from the pursuing Buzzards to stall or fail.

Lesson...use the Cargobob and when being pursued by a Buzzard, just keep flying, you'll be ok.

Thinking about buying the cargobob. Just wondering if I park it outside my vehicle warehouse. And go get a car to export. Will it still be outside for me when I come out so I can easily fly the car

Yes, it will. I do it all the time. Park the Bob in an area NOT where the car comes out and it'll be there every time. I have the cheapest warehouse possible and it has a nice spot to park the Bob right next to the entrance. I pull out, park the car in the street, get in the Bob and away we go. $0 loss for every delivery. The only time I've lost money delivering a car was the one drop off where the yellow corona is covered...I had to set the car down with the bob and I released it too high up. Caused $300 in damage.

A pair of Buzzards shot the engines out of a mint-condition Cargobob that was holding a Z-Type (probably more aggressive because of the top-price car).

I dropped the car close to the ground ($1200 damage) and skidded what was left of the 'Bob to a halt and then had to minigun those Buzzards and 2 more pairs of them, plus four ground vehicles with two NPCs each. After that I drove the car to the warehouse without incident.

So far, for selling the Cargobob is king, but for some of the acquisition missions, even the Cargobob is stretched to its limit. I tried to get the car being chased by police with the Cargobob but it wouldn't hook on, but it did work on the one where your target car is racing around the Sandy Shores Airfield, which is another PitA mission.

Was that the mission where you HAVE to take a cargobob to steal the car at sea? Because in those missions the buzzards that come after me are insane.

Ive managed to get the selling the top grade cars down to where I am able to avoid taking on a lot of damage , I currently do not own a cargo bob, and not sure I want to drop the cash on one right this moment. The last two top grade cars Ive sold I only lost $600 in damages, the 2nd to last was $0 and the last was $600 because the game gave me a different route so I had no idea where the span point for the attackers was going to be.

They sure are, brahmabull. Which is why I'll kill the enemies on the barges first, take the car with the cargobob and try to carefully drop it on the coast in the sand or so without completely stopping. It should come down without taking damage, then you can land your cargobob (preferably under or just past the bridge), get out and take down the waves of buzzards before moving on.

Done right, the worst case scenario there is your cargobob becoming unusable because those guys shoot a lot.

Yes. I've evaded those Buzzards before along the eastern coast, but this time they had the car on a barge northwest of Zancudo and there wasn't enough hills to help shield me.

You can steal a players sales car in passive mode. No chance to get it back for the victim. Fun but pretty silly.

The enemy Buzzards only spawn once you are a certain distance from the pick up point after hooking the car - this distance includes verticality. If you ascend straight up on the spot taking care to remain over the barge area, and keep going up just until you are far enough up that the buzzards spawn, you can then pretty much full throttle it home, without the Buzzards ever getting close. As you near your warehouse, you'll want to keep tilting forward to maintain momentum, but ease off the rotor speed so that you decend towards your warehouse - You don't want to spend too long landing with two buzzards spraying you and your cargo! Once you get the method down, you'll escape unscathed with a repair bill between $0-$100 every time.

If for some reason on your journey back you are lower than you ought to be, don't try too hard to ascend as it'll slow you down, and instead where possible fly around or between hills/buildings/etc.

Yeah, most of those NPCs are easy to deal with. If anything, it's rare that they do more than $1000-2000 damage without my driving being somehow to blame for that.

There are some exceptions, though. The Stirling GT "Majestic", the one from a movie set behind the Vinewood letters. I can't seem to get away without at least a 5k repair bill every time. That includes a perfect landing of the jump. By the time I get down onto an actual road, the buzzard is hitting me through the huge windows. If I stop and get out, the Schafter will be on me immediately, and there seems to be no easy way down the hills. My warehouse is the cheapest one.

Has anyone managed to get the Top Speed yellow T20 with no damage? For me, both times it spawned as a 'traffic stop' with two cops, and each time it was already missing the driver's side door when I arrived. So that's $4000 right away.

It spawns with the door open and the cops addressing the driver at the side of the road. However, because the car is close ot the traffic, NPC cars can drive past and take the door clean off.

That movie set jump behind the Vinewood sign... Well I just stealth takedown the guards and then jack the car with a cargobob :p

Yes i sometimes land the car but it just annoys me that to avoid damage you have to spend several thousands on rockets. Don't they cost 1k a piece? I just don't like that mission.

This is a question for those who have the Techical Aqua. What is the VIP work that unlocks upon purchase of the vehicle? I want to know specifically what the objectives are and how long it usually takes to accomplish.

I haven't tried it yet though i own the vehicle. But the objectives according to the patch notes are: "Destroy all enemy supply crates using the Technical Aqua."

The only new vip i have tried is the one with the aqua blazer where i have to pick up crates on land and in the water and i collected about 1/3 before the time ran out.

How does the entrance to the maze bank garage look?

The one to the Arcadius is pretty nice, it's right into that underground garage. I love to hear the engine roar trough the garage.

Then into this elevator

I don't know where the maze bank entrance is, I always wished it to be that one

It isn't it's next to the main entrance. On the right there is a short road leading down

  • Enter the Rocket Voltic and stay at the top speed until the time runs out to avoid detonation.

Maybe i should start trying them out. I have 5 of the special vehicles now.

I was just sent to steal a T20. The driver of the T20 was on the move, so I decided to try using my Insurgent to ram cars into roadblocks at intersections ahead of the driver. It didn't work. He always got around them before I could shoot him.

My time ran out, mission over, and his car icon disappeared, but I could still see him on the road. I rammed him with the insurgent, got in the T20 and drove it to my office. The yellow circle was there, but very glitchy. It was flashing on and off. So I drove the T20 into it, and my warehouse accepted it. It is visually in the warehouse, and it is on the warehouse computer. But I never got a congratulatory call from the secretary.

Here is the best part. Since there was no damage meter, I didn't have to pay for any of the damages to be repaired.

I've had that one too. I got away with the car and two Buzzards attacked me with the miniguns. I managed to put the car down gently, got out of the Bob and took down those Buzzards/Bastards. I didn't expect to be attacked again, but sure two more came and I got them too. This time though I accidently dropped the car by a tree and couldn't pick it up again, and I couldn't enter it and drive it. I blew it up :) . If it were less damaged I would have tried to push it away with another car. Win some, loose some.

These missions are fun, actually :) .

Well this is the classic good news, bad news scenario. You want the bad news first???..allrighty then. It IS 10 minutes. Good news is that is is quite easy. Even if you drive head on into stuff you have time to get up to speed again even without the boost. And i got 35k for it.

The only thing about this DLC (imo the best yet) is the pain in the hoop it is to have to go back to the office to source another vehicle.

Why can't I do it on my phone ffs.

Still, that said, pretty much what GTA should be about - stealing f*cking cars.

Hey, so I've been away from GTA and gaming in general for a couple of months. I come back and few days later Skyline is added wohoo! Anyways, after this update I found myself broke and would like to know, what are like top 3 most efficient ways to make money solo. I don't play enough to find people to play with. At the moment I like stealing cars for CEO missions. I don't have a warehouse for crates though. Also, I already have 2 collection vehicles, if I deliver lets say 3 car collection do I need 3 people total for it or can I just deliver them all by myself one by one? If so are they all 3 parked outside my car warehouse and I need to go back and forth?

I got one of those mission where you get a pic and find the car.

It was an Etr1 and the pic was a giant chicken on a bell. It's very blurry but it said 'Cluckin Bell farm' or something lioe that. I checked GTA wiki and its where you escape in the Paleto Score.

Just drive up to Paleto Bay on the highway on the left side of the map. It should be roughly in the middle of Paleto on your right. Its parked in the parking lot

If you're playing solo, the top 3 or so ways to make money are probably still crate grinding, biker coke business (plus an optional secondary business like counterfeit cash), this new car export business, or just doing headhunter-trash talk-sightseer-trash talk-headhunter-ect. You could do a bit of each for variety.

You can't sell vehicle collections solo. If solo I suggest doing any theft missions, but only ever selling the top end cars from your warehouse (even top end cars out of collections). Once there's a certain number of standard and mid range cars in your warehouse, you'll only ever be sent to collect top end cars, meaning you'll be selling top end after top end.

As for the "cargobob off the coast" mission, maybe it's a good idea to snipe the guys, hook onto the car and gain as much altitude as possible before making a beeline towards your warehouse? It's always annoying having to slow down to gain altitude because you forgot about that one mountain.

Either way, this update has taught me to drive fast and well. My best sell mission was only 161 GTA$ damages on a standard valued car. Ithink it was the Tampa. Had the usual Blue Sultans after me.

I guess a good tactic is to make sure they are behind you and don't get too far away so you avoid the second sets. Since they always spawn in front of where you're going (Unless you're lucky and can take a corner) so keeping them behind you far enough might avoid unnecessary damage.

I had that one last night. I called in a Merryweather Chopper for back up and they took them out, no problem.
