PoeticWhisper
Arcadia Bay - Life is StrangeSeems like it smells nice here, you know? Right by the coast, giant pine tree's, a nice vibe. It just seems to real, hard to put into words. I almost feel like a hipster trying to explain something, but it feels unique, and not ruined by modern day society. AuthenticWhite Orchard - Witcher 3A quiet, small town far away from big towns or battlefields. Plus, I am more of a countryside person myself.Riften - ESV Skyrim Cool little town on the water. Minus the giant terrifying spiders just outside the walls, Riften is in the nicest part of the map IMO. Love all the autumn tree's and nice big lake nearby. It's just a nice town in a nice place. Paleto Bay San Andreas - GTA VWell, it would be a detriment to my crew if I didn't love Paleto Bay. It's like Arcadia Bay, small town on the coast, but is just close enough of way from LS to not be completely irrelevant but far enough away to be it's own. It's simply the nicest town in the game. Plus, I love my diner. Blackwater - Red Dead RedemptionSucker for early 1900's architecture. Blackwater is the pinnacle of American ingenuity at the time. It's a lovely vintage town. Would love to walk those cobbled streets and play a few games of Blackjack at the saloon. Can't think of much else. Edit: Added some explanations. BenMitchell90
Arcadia Bay - Life is Strange Nice little Twin Peaks-ian town with a homey atmosphere, I could totally settle down here. Shame it got f*cked up in my playthrough and what I personally consider canon. Really nice place with some cool people, but given the choice between all that and Chloe motherf*cking Price, Bae over Bay any day Davenport Homestead - Assassin's Creed III An isolated little town in a gorgeous countryside, with a nice big house on the hill, next to the sea where my own personal ship is docked? I'm there. Playboy X's penthouse - Grand Theft Auto IV I've always loved this place - especially since it has a big patio you can step out on with a pretty good view of LC. Though if I lived there, you'd better believe I'd get all of the former owner's sh*t out, especially if I was responsible for his, erm, no longer living there. Sandy Shores - Grand Theft Auto V Yeah, it's a sh*thole, but I dunno, I've always found it kinda relaxing to hang around in, especially in Trevor's trailer (not even kidding). Yeah the trailer's a total dump, but I love just chilling in there when it's pouring down rain. Paleto Bay - GTA V Actually has a lot in common with Arcadia Bay, really. Small quiet town in the woods, next to the ocean, with the added bonus of a bigass mountain in your backyard. Not far from some great hiking spots, too. Ghale Homestead - Far Cry 4 Oh my God I LOVE this place. Nice secluded little house on the side of a mountain, with a freaking incredible view, and it's really cozy and has a lot to offer when you invest money in fixing it up. I always love going to crash here after a long day of f*cking up Pagan Min's empire and narrowly avoiding getting poked in the ass by pissed-off rhinos San Francisco - Watch Dogs 2 Kinda cheating since it's a real location, but Ubi really did a great job in making SF a comforting, fun open world to play around in. There's always something to see and do, and the city and surrounding countryside is just beautiful. If I had to live anywhere here, it'd be Marin County. Lakeview Manor - Skyrim True story: I've never really bothered with any of the other available manors, because the first one you are offered is so perfect to me. A nice, secluded house in the middle of one of my favorite holds in the game (Falkreath), surrounded by dense forest and a nice lake, with great views of the Throat of the World if you add a tower onto the manor. Shame about all the giants that like to pass through. West Elizabeth - Red Dead Redemption Anywhere here, from Beecher's Hope to even Blackwater. The place is just gorgeous. Well... except for all the things there that can eat you. I definitely wouldn't be going anywhere without my Mauser and Buffalo Rifle handy. Sombra
CHILL BOYS Far enough away from gangland LS, close enough to SF for sightseeing and LV for a day trip. Tech-Noir
Definitely not any of the GTA cities as I don't fancy myself possibly getting ran over by a Rhino Tank on the way to work, or being annihilated by a guy wearing a monkey mask flying a Savage. HaythamKenway
CHILL BOYS Far enough away from gangland LS, close enough to SF for sightseeing and LV for a day trip. Aside from the occassional shootout on a boat anchored offshore it's pretty quiet. Impeccable choice. Though I wonder how "comfy" GTA universe, with its unbelievable level of crime and corruption, would really be. Given a choice, I wouldn't really live anywhere there. But, if we ignore that, more locations that could classify: Leftwood and Meadow Hills from IV, Shoreside Vale from III, west San Fierro and Palomino Creek from SA, Paleto Bay and northeast LS from V. And as for other games? The Pokémon universe is a given and I'd single out the Sinnoh region in particular. From AC, I'd pick the Davenport Homestead too (another excellent choice, Ben) and maybe Masyaf under Altair's command. From Watch Dogs; Pawnee and from Red Dead Redemption Blackwater and the MacFarlane's Ranch. Then Bullworth from Bully is a pretty cozy place too and so is Empire Bay from Mafia II, especially during the winter. Lots of places from World of Warcraft could apply too. The Time Ranger
The lighthouse in Bullworth, it was always my favorite safehouse. By the sea and beach in a picturesque town, plus it's an actual lighthouse, what's not to like? The presidential suite in the Lucky 38 from fallout NV. A slice of luxury from the old world in the middle of the desolation of the Mojave. My only complaint is there's no view, have to go to the penthouse for that, because of that i rate it four out of five star bottlecaps. I also would like to live in the dinosaur in Novac. Breezehome in Whiterun, a warm and cozy house in my favourite town in Skyrim. Not the biggest house but I find that it has a unique charm which appeals to me. I also like Septimus Signuss's (not sure about name) outpost at the very north of the map, it could be a peaceful retreat for a while. Nice idea for a thread btw. Red XIII
lol at people who chose a fictional version of a real city, why would you go los santos or libery city when you have L.A or New york, they're pretty much the same minus the absolute nutters running around. The Dedito Gae
Bullworth because i f*cking love that place, every district... except the campus of course because i'm a f*cking dropout. New Marais, taking aside the paramilitary fascist rednecks and the montrous conduits is actually a nice place and looks comfy. New York from any Spider-Man game, i love both NY and Spidey so it serves me good. Liberty City, i know is New York but more compresed and with 100% dirty puns but i still love it. The ghost town in gta 3 or Liberty City in gta SA because i'm a motherf*cker like that. Mister Pink
Strangely beautiful is Goodneighbour in Fallout 4 for me. I could imagine myself cosying up in the bar underground or hanging out in the dream-theatre cabaret club place. Actually despite the horrible nature of the wasteland I find a lot of places beautiful in their own way in Fallout. Maybe it's a throw-back to building hideouts/bases when we were kids or the excitement of preparing for a camping trip that I like how people in Fallout use their limited resources the best they can to make life as comfortable as they can. In Skyrim I get a wonderful feeling travelling between two mountains and Riverwood. It's so peaceful and has beautiful dramatic scenery. Also North of Falkreath is very nice near the lake. There's plenty of beauty in Skyrim but lately I found myself loving those places. DEALUX
I would love to live in Hercules tbh. Bus stop FTW, bitches! I was thinking about how it would be like to run a club and I immediately thought of this. It was a nice idea until I imagined how I would deal with violent people in the club. My imagination immediately went to murder lol. Alderney (GTA IV) It's very underrated. The first time I drove there at night I immediately fell in love with it. It reminds me of Portland in GTA III. It also kinda looks like a city near my location which makes playing the game more immersive.
