Gtavicecity or Mafia

You cant compare those two games. VC is in the 1980 and Mafia is in 1930. Mafia is a gangster game and VC is not like that. Its not so dark or realistic. Well... I play VC more and I dont even own Mafia so you know my answer: :D

Personally I have a soft spot for Mafia, mostly because I prefer the Vito Corleone era of organised crime to that of Tony Montana.

Mafia has a much more crafted plot, with more realistic and original missions than VC, but it's not as mindlessly entertaining or amusing.

It comes down to a question of personality I guess, are you a Godfather person or a Scarface person?

Yeah, it's definately an apples to oranges comparison.  Both are excellent in their own ways.  Personally, Mafia is one of my favorite games in a long time.  The storyline is like that of a polished movie and the gameplay is in many ways original and challenging.

VC on the other hand, has a completely different theme.  It's basicly a satire of the 1980's.  The storyline is good, but has a whole different vibe from Mafia.

In terms of gameplay, I'd say VC offers more to do overall.  But Mafia also has a free ride extreme option you unlock at the end where you have 19 submissions to do that unlock unique cars when you beat them.

In terms of graphics, Mafia is one of the most beautiful games I've seen so far.  Vice has good graphics too, but they lack the realism that Mafia offers.

In terms of interactiveness, VC wins hands down.  Only in VC is there virtually no such thing as boundries in the city.  You can get on any rooftop or get over any fence in VC, whereas in Lost Heaven, you're restricted on where you can go.

Each has it's pros and cons, but they are both unique and excellent games.

All good points.  So why am I even typing?  Hehe, Mafia is great material, though you start out with squat and the freedom to roam isn't all that great the first time around.  Excellent game, none-the-less.  Now where's that bonehead that wants to bring up that clipping and story-line nightmare, The Getaway, and how much greater it is.

i have a qustion bout Mafia.

Do u get free roam mode like GTA??

or no??

Somewhat, what I meant was you're not free to do what you want between missions, and more of the map doesn't open as frequently as GTA's would.  You can only roam during missions.  Which isn't all that great because you're on a timer most of the time during missions anyway.  There is a free roam mode, aside from actual gameplay, but you have to unlock more parts of it as you go on.  You don't start out with the whole city.  But the game is extremely fun, and the discrepecies(sp?) I meantioned are but a spec compared to the gameplay.

Yeah I agree, they both are great games that shouldn't be compared.

The best part of mafia (aside from the awesome story) is freeride extreme... you have free roam of the city, and there are 19 sub-missions you can play.. such as: Save the tied up girl from a sea monster, kill the snipers, and drive drunk (there is a warping effect on the camera that stretches more the faster you go, lol, It's pretty frikkin cool),  It's also moddable (I replaced Tommy with a naked chick... she's pretty hot too..) and the out of car controls are like Unreal Tournament (A Big Plus)

My advice: Buy Mafia now, play it, wait for Vice on PC... then buy that :)
