Jimmy
Was wondering if anyone saw the Trailer for the new movie. It was announced yesterday. Tom Cruise headlines a spectacular, all-new cinematic version of the legend that has fascinated cultures all over the world since the dawn of civilization: The Mummy. Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension. Cruise is joined by a cast including Annabelle Wallis (upcoming King Arthur, televisions Peaky Blinders), Jake Johnson (Jurassic World), Courtney B. Vance (TVs American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson) and Oscar® winner Russell Crowe (Gladiator). Tacymist
Seems like it's going to be mostly action, I was hoping for a horror mummy movie. But I had the same hopes for the previous series too, and I ended up enjoying it for what it was anyway. So with any luck I'll find enjoyment in this as well. darthYENIK
Yeah, I'm not convinced. Another movie where Tom Cruise runs a lot, almost to prove that yes he's in his 50s but he can still run. But maybe I'm just an SP.

Jimmy
not gonna lie this looks incredibly stupid.Well, it is. No true horror. Just action without proper storyline. And why is Dr. Henry Jekyll in the movie? Prodigium, the clandestine, monster-finding organization is like the S.H.I.E.L.D of this movie. Hopefully this won’t be a backdoor team-up movie. The Avengers as the way of doing it right, by introducing each individual hero first, something which brings them a huge audience. And Tom Cruise seems mostly dead in the movie. How does someone survive a plane crash that bad? It’s not going to be a pretty room with those guys in it so far. The plot is predictable. i5 10400F • MSI Z490-A PRO • XPG 16GB DDR4 3000MHz • MSI RX 570 4GB • NZXT H510 • Cooler Master MWE 650 V2
Girish
Yeah, I don't think this is gonna work at all. The original Mummy worked because it had a good mix of horror and comedy. This one looks like an all out action film and even the recent MI films haven't been good enough to justify Tom Cruise being in another action movie. I'll continue to remain skeptical until I've actually seen the film.
Femme Fatale
I think it's gonna suck tbh, and I feel bad for Brendan Fraser. Edited December 8, 2016 by Achlys iBUCKEYE
Kiffster
I'm much more interested in the third Mummy movie from 2008 which I didn't know about until now iBUCKEYE
JN92
I don't know about this one, Universal Studio's are now creating a monsterverse teaming this up with Dr Frankenstein and Dracula etc for a mash up of sorts. Seems like their latest cash cow attempt to me. Could be wrong though!
X S
Wait this is a reboot? They're completely missing the point of what made the original Mummy great, the slapstick Indiana Jones-like writing. And just a side-note, I think this era of serious, edgy and dark film-making is coming to end. It was one that was suited well for a post-9/11 world, but I think that time has now passed. You can sort of see that in the success of the Marvel universe versus DC's.

You can sort of see that in the success of the Marvel universe versus DC's. It's not exactly a reboot. This takes place in the modern day with a different mummified princess with some weird grudge. The storyline is more serious and action dependant. There's even a secret society involved. i5 10400F • MSI Z490-A PRO • XPG 16GB DDR4 3000MHz • MSI RX 570 4GB • NZXT H510 • Cooler Master MWE 650 V2

Nico
Those carnivore bugs from the first movie scared the sh*t out of me as a kid. Other kids telling me they were real didn't help either. Jimmy
In the previous trailer we saw Tom Cruise’s Mummy reboot hinted at some of the eponymous villain’s evil powers, but this one offers a bit more backstory on Sofia Boutell’s undead character and what she wants from Cruise. This marks the official beginning the Universal Monsters Cinematic Universe, similar to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe. i5 10400F • MSI Z490-A PRO • XPG 16GB DDR4 3000MHz • MSI RX 570 4GB • NZXT H510 • Cooler Master MWE 650 V2
Femme Fatale
What really bugs me the most about this movie is that they casted Tom Cruise as the protagonist. They should've gone with a younger up-and-coming actor, not some old guy who's past his prime.
El Dildo
lol. the trailer looks even more silly than the teaser. it's taking itself way too seriously. this is just Paint-by-Numbers Summer Blockbuster. at least Brendan Fraser's Mummy had some original elements of comedy, a dash of satire, and incorporated a lot of practical special effects. this thing looks like every other forgettable action flick. too much CGI. too fast paced. tired story. Tom Cruise being Tom Cruise... which is the same person he's been in EVERY F/CKING MOVIE since the first Mission Impossible. talk about an overrated actor, jesus. the guy never changes character. oh and you know what else? when you're using The Rolling Stones for your trailer music, you're basically admitting that you're totally out of ideas and have no concept of how your movie is supposed to look or feel. it doesn't get much more unoriginal than this. didn't Call of Duty or Battlefield already jump the shark with Rolling Stones by using the exact same song for several of their gameplay trailers? just a couple of years ago? the f/cking instrumental sounds on Paint It Black come from an Indian sitar. it has nothing to do with Egyptian culture. this is so bad Edited April 3, 2017 by El Diablo Femme Fatale and iBUCKEYE
