Now don't you think that's just a little unfair? (CEO work)

Has anyone had their warehouses attacked by npcs or cops?

Yes. Your assistant calls you telling you you're being robbed. Then when you get near the warehouse, (in my occurrence) the truck takes off and you gotta steal it back. Unfortunately I was in an NPC car at the time and the guys in the truck killed me and by the time I got my car and caught up to them the icon disappeared and they got away. The assistant told me I'd lost half my stock, but when I got back to the warehouse I had only lost about 10 crates.

Nobody says you need to risk so much work at once and alone. That's the choice you make. Nobody says you have to risk anything by running crates. That option is there for players if they want to risk high for a chance at a big payout. High risk = high reward. Move small if you don't like the big risks or play a different activity if you don't want to risk anything at all.

For the most part I think it's fair. Although I agree losing everything after delivering 9/10 packages is a bit extreme and silly, maybe it should be changed to you only losing what you don't deliver or even losing only a fraction of the entire load, 1/3 or 1/2 for example would be a bit better in my opinion but again nobody says we need to risk anything at all.

That's a change I'd make, don't lose everything only some on a fail sell mission. As for locking everyone who isn't vip/ceo/mc out of the missions is kinda missing the point of it all. These activities are for everyone and many can't afford the cost of becoming a boss. Yes we pay but only for the opportunity to launch these things, that doesn't mean organizations should be the only ones to be able to play.

(I hate to say it but as others have said just do a hard shutdown when you are about to fail to save most product. It's not exactly right but if it saves "a week" of grinding I don't falt anyone for doing this at all. I've done it myself a couple of times.)

I do all my CEO and Biker stuff in solo sessions, over the lifetime of both I made over 27 million from both (17 million CEO, 10 million Biker.) so I got my money back and then some. Sadly this content is kinda broken otherwise, its far too easy to blow up a dudes delivery vehicles. One pass of a hydra's machine guns with explosive rounds is all it takes.

If Rockstar really wanted to be fair they instead should limit attacks only to other players also in CEO and Biker groups, and instead of blowing it up it is required to steal the vehicle and drop it off at another location for a big payout. Its harder for attacking players to do, gives the defending players a better shot, and should the defending players fail they would get the chance of stealing it back from the attackers. People would not be trying to do this stuff in solo sessions so badly if they actually got a fair shake.

Like for example does Rockstar seriously expect me to drive a freaking Post Ops Boxville to 5 different points across the map and reach all the drops in one piece? Nice joke there, a joke clearly at my expense and the expense of every other player out there who attempts that delivery mission in a populated free roam session.

I agree with the proposed solution. Have it so that people and take your sh*t and claim the money themselves instead of it just being an object to blow up,

That said it will never happen because, well, Shark Cards

The "steal it and drop it off somewhere for a payout" idea seems to be happening in the Import/Export update

As soon as you get the call from your assistant exit the game/session immediately - you will only lose 2 crates.

As an aside has anyone doing plane sell missions had the cargo doors refuse to open and release a drop? I have had this happen a lot lately and had to ditch the entire delivery. Not really a problem as I always sell single crates until I get a plane so I know the next one for my full warehouse will either be truck or boat but if this is a regular glitch and affects people who do bigger sales via planes it can be expensive.

I haven't tried this yet, but can't you mark every delivery place on the map and cargobob the van?

Seems to happen with import and export. Won't change a thing because most of the player blow everything up without beeing told to....

No. No Delivery vehicle or supply vehicle can be picked up by a cargo bob. Been there, tried that.

I'm absolutely sick of the word 'fair'

You know what a unfair? My foot that went bad and I had to have it rebuilt from cadaver. Getting smashed in a van between four other cars. Having to be extracted with the jaws of life.

I'm so sick of kids whining about things being fair in a video game they ain't fair in real life just deal with it you twits

I get what you're saying but,

You remind me of the head coach of my favorite sports team that said ''A kid fighting for his life with cancer is what worries me'' when asked by a journalist if he was worried his team's play could be sustainable in the long run. White it's true, it doesn't mean he's right, if you get what I'm saying.

Very sorry for what happened to you but, let's keep it on topic and discuss, yes?

What about using a sand dune to drive a delivery van on top of a fast vehicle - such as a Brickade .........or even a SandkingXL? Only wondering as I have seen RV's driving about on top of each other without falling off due to a spawn glitch.......

I tried putting a sales Post Op van in a Dump in the quarry, it made a lot of noise and blew up. Still better than driving it.

CEO work was badly designed in a few respects. It should be like the MC work: if you do most of the drops, you still get most of the money. Combine this problem with the fact that I exhausted myself crate-grinding, and I have switched completely to my MC businesses. I only register as a CEO now to do VIP missions or to fight other players; haven't touched my warehouse in weeks and weeks.

I don't see how that's unfair. You got injured, and your body wasn't good enough to repair the damage, so intervention was required. The human body and its organic matter has limits. You're lucky to even have a foot. I'm grateful modern medicine was able to salvage it.

Yes, this is real life, (or at least what we can define "real" as) and video games are designed from the ground up with 100% of the input being controllable. The people who create these virtual worlds have full control over how they function, and dictate what the ruleset is. Hence "fair and unfair." If it was organic life, I would simply move on, as some things can't be helped. This can be helped, though. It doesn't have to be this way. Their program is entirely open-ended. They can edit things at any time.

lose interest when you lose in a game.....

im guessing you have never completed a game before....lol

Quite the contrary, friend. I've completed every game I've ever played. (except for the uncompleteable games, such as open-ended never stop playing games like MMOs, or broken titles)

After 3 years of playing GTA:O, and after thousands of hours... Yeah, being completely broke and then loosing a million dollars after spending my free time after work every night of the week to get enough money just to be allowed inside a garage for one of my cars... Yes, a little disheartning that was, to say the least... I was going to finally get my Sultan into Benny's. Sure, it would have required another million at least to customize, but I was going to at least have it upgraded. Maybe get it painted...

--------------------------------------

I would like to thank everybody for the advice of killing GTA:O. I had a split-second thought of doing just that as I realized it said that I had lost all of my cargo, and not just the final couple of crates for the last delivery, but I didn't do it. I will keep this in mind for the future.

Has anyone had their warehouses attacked by npcs or cops?

I have. I was in Paleto bay when it happened. I sadly lost 24 crates by the time I had gotten across the map and to my warehouse. I moved my warehouse to the center of town after that. My Warehouse was in the very south of LS. Edited by Omnifarious

While I can usually get a lobby all my own, sometimes I still end up with about 4 other people in it too. It's always best to test out the lobby before doing any sell missions. By test I mean do a few crate missions, or VIP work, and see how everyone reacts. If they let you go about your business, it should be ok to sell without any trouble. Of course, if anyone in the lobby has IGN for their crew, forget about it. Switch sessions.

CEO stuff is bad designed from right to left and makes no sense what so ever. What do I do as "CEO"? Is it a legit business? An illegal one?!?

There are so many things that makes no sense - at all:

If you buy one crate, you can sell it only for the same price - why? If you sell more than one, the price goes up. On every market I know the price per items goes down the more you buy at once (representing the higher efficiency at the deal).

I pay for a crate and the FIB shows up, so it seems I deal with illegal stuff. On other I just know the Helicopter it is flying in, so I paid for the information? Sorry, but that is never cleared up.

You sell the crates to ONE buyer, yet you deliver it to 10 points, random over the map - why, what how?

What would have make sense is: You steal (or buy) the crates in a big quantity (a truck, for example) and then you sell it in small quantities -> higher price -> your profit margin.

Sorry, but the whole CEO thing is just plain unlogical, no wonder the gameplay sucks.

Speaking of IGN, I've seen this or years, but never bothered to investigate. Is it IGN as in the webiste/gaming coverage people? Or something else?

It has many, many parts to it that don't make sense, sadly. I'm not sure if Rockstar will ever change any of it either. They do update things from time to time, however. So here's to hoping! I know their economy is different, but it still makes me laugh that a 24k solid gold minigun sells for 100k. Considering a little 2lb bar of gold is 40k in real life. I've also thought about the quantity. Even though it's a video game, I just head-cannon that you are charging them extra because it is more dangerous to unload more illegal cargo at one time. Kinda like hazard pay.

I lost a full warehouse yesterday, so over $2m.

Can't even blame Hydra users, it was my own attempt at landing a Cuban without the landing gear down!!!

yep, I did the same exact thing, I haven't spent another second doing ceo work. These are the stories that make me think money glitches aren't bad at all.

Here's one example of something: beer hats. You HAD to nab a crate to get them. People were mad they couldn't get to a crate first or whatever. Was it unfair they didn't get hats? No. Why must everyone be catered too??

Money glitches are totally worth it. I'd go as far as to say modded money is worth it. I prefer to give out 10$ to strangers for modded accounts than to give one penny or 400 hours of my life to R*.

If the Earth did a turnaround like R* changed their attitude, we'd all be dead.

Ironically I actually tried that in the past, its one of the reasons I purchased the Cargobob Jetsam, but anything that is mission related cannot be picked up. I could not even pick up a freaking cop bike carrying my cocaine supplies and fly it back.

Also to elaborate further on the Post Ops delivery vehicles, it is absolutely horrible and guaranteed failure if you do it in a populated session. The vehicle itself is extremely slow and it is so bad that it cannot even climb a f*cking hill without difficulty, seriously. If my delivery route for example tells me to travel through the Vinewood hills to reach Blaine country I am reduced to a snails crawl through that part of the region, a person on foot could actually keep up with me as I struggled up the hill. Then lastly to top it all off you must get out of the vehicle at every drop point to do a 3-5 second animation of your character putting a box on the ground, which makes both you and the Boxville sitting ducks for several seconds through the whole process at each delivery location. So suffice to say even if you managed to kill an attacking player, they can easily respawn and catch up to you a ton of times to try again throughout the course of the delivery.

Even if you attempt this solo you could fail, the reason why that is, is because the vehicle is so freaking slow that if you have to drive 3 or 4 of them to the opposite side of the map to do deliveries on a solo session by yourself its guaranteed to fail cause you won't have enough time to make all your deliveries. So if in the event you got a ton of product to sell, between three to four squares worth of product, it may be safer to sell locally in the region you're in so that in the event you got those stupid Post Ops vans, you would stand a better chance then.
