mahanddeem
Hello guys,For those who run the game on a 1080p resolution, GTX 1080 and a high refresh rate monitor, what are your highest settings for 120+ fps?Edit: BTW, "GTX 1080 is a 1440p or 4K card" is BS. At least not for GTA V, maxed settings or high FPS. PS: Alright so these settings are 110fps plus(many times around 144fps, my monitor refresh rate. With my 4790K at 4.6GHz, 16GB 2400mhz DDR3) Thanks for those who helped. image upload Edited December 10, 2016 by mahanddeem
Deminu
Tbh, I kind of doubt many other people will have that card, and even if they do they'll most likely have a different CPU/RAM than you do. It all comes down to experimenting, crank everything up and lower the settings that you're comfortable with reducing as needed.

Igor Bogdanoff
Just max out everything in basic graphics settings (except for AA) Then by this guide check for settings that are most power instense and give least graphics upgradehttp://www.geforce.com/whats-new/guides/grand-theft-auto-v-pc-graphics-and-performance-guide
mahanddeem
Thanks to the constructive replies. I can get 80-100fps with everything to the max including advanced to highest (except msaa 4x and grass high). Advanced graphic options cost around 10-20fps in some areas(and in some times of the day). Edit: I know about the Nvidia guide. But it's old by now, plus it was not performed correctly. It confounded many options making every option measurable weight in fps hard to understand. Edited December 8, 2016 by mahanddeem
VolumeRX
Dude I barely get constant 60FPS with GTX 980TI 4770K 16GB Ram on 1080P...and there are some places that I have 35-45 FPS in them... the cards are not far in terms of power, so why is your FPS so much better than mine? Everything to the max except AA x2. Edited December 8, 2016 by VolumeRX

But still, horrid optimization on the game with Ultra settings.

I used to have a 980ti and it did 4K 60fps with a mix of high and ultra settings on GTA

And my factory oc'ed is 20℅ more powerful than a fast 980ti.My 1080 (on stock factory oc) scores 23856 points graphic score on Firestrike. FourFingersOfFun
Try turning tessellation off (literally will only see it when looking at a tree trunk) and shadows to soft, ambient occlusion to lowest setting.
