PhoGarrett
Hoping there's a bit more gameplay this time around, pretty much my only complaint with the last game, also excited to see if they do multiplayer again because the last one was better than I expected it to be. No thanks on the multiplayer. I'm growing tired of every game that comes out today having to have a multiplayer attached to it. I'd rather have Naughty Dog focus 100 percent on the campaign. There's enough games with great multiplayers out there. But, games with compelling and unforgettable stories? Not as much. Here we go again. Everytime someone suggests multiplayer to a primarily single-player game, someone will instantly get defensive over the single player, as if a multiplayer mode will instantly make the game worse. No, that's not how it works. Singleplayers are usually finished and done a decent amount of time before the multiplayer development starts for these types of games. The involvement of multiplayer wouldn't hurt The Last of Us Part II's story at all. If anything it'd make the game last longer. I still occasionally like to play TLoU's MP because I find it that fun. I see the appeal of wanting a great singleplayer and having all their assets pointed towards it, heck I'm guilty of this if you look back at my old posts, but the idea crumbles if you think about it more than a few minutes. We have no clue how many great online modes we may have missed from primarily singleplayer games. Batman: Arkham Origins multiplayer refined and retooled for Arkham Knight could be a ton of fun if taken with care. All I'm saying is: Don't look at multiplayer as a detriment and instead see it as a welcome addition. The Jungz
No one's forcing you to play the multiplayer. Its just a cherry on top of an awesome campaign. GTA V disagrees. I respect Naughty Dog wholeheartedly because they seem like the only Studio out there that still gives a crap about the art that they craft. One after the other, they release amazing single player games that leave their marks in history. And they don't do it because they feel like they must, they make them because they want to. According to Neil Druckmann, they almost gave up on the idea of TLOU 2, probably because they weren't satisfied with what they had written and felt like their customers and their characters deserved better. Of course they want money, but I'm 100% confident that if they had scrapped TLOU 2, they would have come up with something else, just as great. Rockstar will eventually release GTA VI, VII, VIII, not because they necessarily want to, but because they want to milk money out of their now very loyal and spread out fanbase. The future remains uncertain now for titles such as Manhunt, Bully, LA Noire. It feels like Rockstar will start playing it safe from here on out, as we can see with the way they constructed GTA Online. Anyway, I'm getting off-topic. Thrilled as f*ck about the game. More excited than for RDR2. Edited December 6, 2016 by ThroatSlasher2 Dryspace

GTA can have a godawful story and get away with it by having a fun and detailed world. But with TLOU, ND has to focus on the story. PhoGarrett
F*ck the Joel is dead theory, it's such a stupid and contrived theory that I can't stand people legitimately considering it. Ellie would hallucinate Joel walking through the forest and walking through the hallway? Seems much too far away for her to start imagining Joel, maybe if he just showed up at the door there'd be some leeway but still. Besides, I'm pretty sure Druckmann & Co. said they wouldn't use cheap deaths or gimmicks in TLoU Part 2 anyway. If this is a real thing then I most certainly won't be buying the game. It isn't an interesting theory either, the "it was all in X Character's head" trope has been done to death. I don't give a sh*t if Angelica Pickles is a schizophrenic patient that makes her imagine the Rug Rats talking to each other all the time. Oh by the way the Rug Rats also died in a car crash. Good for an internet video, not good for a story. It's all f*cking dumb speculation that won't come true. Good speculation that should be shared is stuff like wondering if you can play as both Joel and Ellie in the same level, or how Naught Dog will touch on Ellie's reaction to Joel in the previous game. chronic lumbago
Man, people saying Ellie looks ugly or wrong piss me off like hell. She looks older like she's supposed to and you can't possibly look 'wrong'. TLOU is Naughty Dog's 'book' and it's entirely up to them how Ellie will look like. She has no blonde hair and hasn't gone through a gender transformation so she looks just fine. I think she looks raw as f*ck. She seems just so.. broken. I really want to find out what happened to her. People change. HoleInTheSky, PhoGarrett, Richard Power Colt and 3 others

Zondar
That frown is chilling. Absolutely love it!! I just can't buy that Joel is dead at all. Someone probably is tho to get her so full of hatred. My guess is she's had a boyfriend or girlfriend who's somehow got caught up in the crossfire between Joel and The Fireflies. Although this is maybe a bit too obvious? Other possibility is they killed her dog...

Ellie looking good Note/Edit:The Last of Us is now a Big IP for Sony. LOL Wut? TLoU sold well and was a big IP before the sequel came out. Also you should make the effort to play the first game. It's only about 20 dollars nowadays for the remaster, less for the PS3 version.
Vik
Why cant women that live in post-apocalyptic world look like Ps2 era Lara Craft? :-( I doubt anyone would look like Lara Croft while growing up in a zombie apocalypse. Honestly can't wait for this game. Gameplay wise will hopefully be wide-linear or linear, personally feel like games nowadays are mostly corridor FPSes,Open World games, or Multiplayer focused. m8son
While I am still pretty excited for this, I'm kind of disappointed that we play as Ellie this time instead of Joel. I absolutely love Ellie's character but it just doesn't make any sense from a gameplay standpoint. In 1 you could grab people and smash their jaws into tables, kill someone with a single knee to the face, or with a single 2x4 smack to the face. It would make absolutely zero sense if Ellie could do these things with how she's built. I'm thinking we will get less brutal melee and they are gonna focus on her switchblade as a method of taking people down. This gets rid of shiv crafting and strangling people to death. I still have faith in Naughty Dog and I'm still definitely buying day 1, but I am worried about how the gameplay will turn out. While I still love Uncharted 4 and it might even be my favorite in the series, compared to the first 3 there was lot more walking and climbing sections and waaay less shooting. It seems like in their recent games they are focusing a lot more on the story element of things rather than including as much actual gameplay as they used to.
