Joel was always a selfish asshole, that's part of his personality (he's my favourite videogame character btw).
Ever since the outbreak day he didn't showed pity for the family that needed a lift.
He would killed you without hesitation if you encountered him in that world.
Even Tess acknowledged "we are sh*tty people Joel, we've been like that for a long time".
He bullied Tommy and rubs in his face that he would not survived without him.
He killed Marlene in cold blood and never showed regrets of his actions.

But nah they make him dirty for the sequel just to pull a personal AgEndA.

We don't know the circumstances she grew up in and has been living like, so whether it is unrealistic or not remains to be seen. But even then, so what if it is unrealistic for a woman to have a physique like that in TLOU? I don't see how that is so immersion breaking. She certainly doesn't look over the top. I don't know much about Anita other than her wanting better representation of women in gaming. I support that part of her at least. I don't know if she has other intentions that can be considered bad. 

 

Yeah, I already told you that the game will attempt to make you see things from Abby's perspective and try to make you empathize with her. And if you are not up for that then that is fine. But I would give it a chance at least. 

 

So you do admit that you would've rather had a man taking out Joel rather than a woman? That is quite sexist actually. The gender doesn't matter AT ALL in these circumstances. It would literally play out the same way. There is no affect on gameplay or story telling. This shouldn't bother you at all. 

 

Joel was also a piece of sh*t. He said so himself in the first game. He killed innoncent people. And he took the one hope of humanity away for selfish reasons (kidnapping Ellie from the surgeon). But you are okay with playing as him? Let me guess, because he is a man?

 

The reason why ND wants you to play as Abby and gave Joel and Ellie such a horrible fate, is to show how violent and sad the world of TLOU is. There are no good guys. I think that is the point ND is trying to make. Joel is not a good person. Ellie is not a good person. Abby is not a good person. They are all murderers or worse.

Like I said, besides the fungus zombies, TLOU is pretty grounded and every other character in the games has been pretty realistic up until Abby. She's designed this way supposedly because Anita and SJW's hate feminine characters, even if they aren't sexualized. That's the agenda that's theorized to being pushed.

 

Please don't call me sexist, very uncalled for. The reason Negan works isn't because he has a dick, but because the way he's written and  I see none of that from Abby. If you haven't seen it already I highly suggest you look up Negan's scene just to see what he brings to the table that Abby does not. But the fact with Abby isn't that a girl killed Joel. It was that a character with a rather bland personality beyond revenge was created by a writer trying to get close to a well known SJW, kills him in a very pitiful way and said character has a design that heavily falls in line with what the SJW's crowd loves. That is what people are upset about, Joel could've been killed by a random nameless dude and it would just be as underwhelming but Abby's design in this climate with Twitter and Cancel Culture has lit a match. 

 

Joel is a bad guy, but the reason we follow him is to see his journey and how he changes. He does quite alot to protect Ellie in the first game, even if his deeds are very dark. I don't see why him dying to protect her in a more satisfying fashion would make it "Aw, Joel's a hero now, he was supposed to be a terrible guy!" And once again, don't be throwing sexism around like that, seriously.

 

The problem with the "everyone is bad and easily disposable because they're bad" idea is that it's just bad storytelling, at least for a post-apocalypse story it is. Nobody wants to get invested in a story where everyone trying to survive dies and everything they did doesn't matter. By this logic Abby could be stabbed in her sleep in TLOU3 by someone randomly looking for pills and negate everything you'll experience in a few weeks. While they aren't supposed to be good people, we the audience follow them and see what made them this way and killing them in the most backhanded way possible isn't going to get the audience cheering.

Abby gets constantly praised in cutscenes for being great at everything. She is portrayed to be both well read and built like a fridge. Every guy wants her. She is f*cking ubermench woman. How does this make us sympathize with her roid rage beating of Joel?

Ideally Abby would be portrayed as damaged and hurt by Joel killing her family. Forced to do terrible things just to survive. Physically strong, but emotionally stunted. Her behaviour and hatred alienating those around her and forcing her to go on her quest alone. Making her numerically the underdog against Joel and his family rather than Abby bringing a squad of every race and gender.

Make Abby a villain as a consequence of what Joel did to make her life a living hell. Not some asshole living a good life but in the mood for bashing the skull of an old man and choking his surrogate daughter.

This is something that's been brought up on the Kiwifarms thread alot. Abby should not be mentally stable after "lusting for revenge" for so long, or at least not as stable as she's been seen so far.

From we have gathered they're like eight people who participate in the death of Joel (they all lost someone in the hospital), Abby gives the final blow. There's a scene were Ellie is torturing Owen (Abby's love interest) to know Abby's whereabouts, the guy says that he's also looking for her. Looks like in some point of the story Abby gets captured by the Seraphites (rival group of the WLF) were she teams up with the Asian siblings from the 2017 pgw teaser trailer.

 

So it goes something like this;

- Joel kills Fireflies in the hospital to save Ellie.

- Five years later former Fireflies kill Joel, the surgeons daughter called Abby gives the final shot.

- Ellie kills those former Fireflies one by one (but she especially wants Abby).

- Abby somehow knows Ellie is in town and has killed all her friends now she has a motive to kill her. 

- The Abby & Ellie fight wich everyone is talking about ends with Ellie and Dina almost dead. Abby spares them.

- There's a time jump with Ellie & Dina living together with a child (Dina gave birth to her ex boyfriend's son). Ellie leaves Dina to look for Abby.

- Abby & Lev are in California looking for Fireflies (this scene only last 40 seconds so there's nothing much to say).

* We don't know how it ends, according to the levels list there's still a Ending chapter & Epilogue, none of that is in the leaked footage

was hyped for this game for 3 plus years, gameplay looks incredible, but those leaks along with the hypocritical agenda ND likes to throw around in recent years and the fact the the developers call people ists and phobes if criticized, my interest disappeared. how you mess up a game that badly? oh thats right, hiring a feminist who's only job is to complain about about the treatment of women in media. who knows nothing about video games. so sad

Only one week left to enjoy this masterpiece. 

My favorite reviewers are very positive about the game. One of them did say the ending left them a bit unsatisfied, especially compared to the original game. He also said that the story is going to divide the fans. But even he was super positive about the game outside of that.
