I don't think it will ever happen either, but it would be good if you can toggle it on or off, maybe just in non public lobbies. One can only hope...

Don't understand how people love it, don't you all miss offroading and being able to fly at night? You can't even tell the sky from the ocean! I couldn't tell if I was flying my jet straight up or tilted 

Offroading in the snow is even more fun imo. Climbing snowy mountains in a Caracara, sliding about the swamp and desert trails in an offroad spec gauntlet hellfire.

 

Regarding flying, I honestly dont see a problem. Actually flying around the city in the snowy weather in my Akula is one of my favourite pasttimes.

And since I'm flying in first person I got both an altimeter and an artificial horizon on the dash of my aircraft. That way I know exactly how my aircraft is positioned and if I'm climbing or dropping.

That's fine and dandy but I'd like to drive my car and roam around San Andreas and do other stuff that isn't the same heist I've been doing for the last year on repeat or going to the sh*tty beach club.

 

Would be nice to, I dunno, mod and play with the new cars, take some photos where I don't have the cheaply done snow as my backdrop... do other jobs/misisons for my other businesses and properties without having to deal with the disadvantages the snow brings, etc.

 

The snow isn't the issue, its honestly how its implemented, mostly the laziness of how its implemented, and the fact when its turned on its on for days on end with no way to disable it. At least with other weather I can just wait it out or change sessions, but the snow? Enjoy the week of white hell.

 

I said it in the B&M thread but the snow is done so lazily its a single item that can truly show you exactly how lazy R* is with stuff that won't make them any money. Compare snowy LS to North Yankton. No snowbanks, no snow on NPC cars, no snow really anywhere except roads, tops of buildings, and the plants, snow doesn't accumulate anywhere either except on plants. North Yankton has roads covered in snow with less snow where cars have been driving. LS? Looks freshly snowed on every day even the major roadways. Snow is constantly falling but no snowbanks? No snow accumulating on NPC cars like it does on our personals? Don't even get me started on the fact they adjusted nothing for NPC behavior or attire either. NPC's are still at the beach in swimsuits acting like its 95 out but they're walking across a snow covered beach. None of the NPC's have any of the hundreds of jackets or warmer attire that exists in the game files on either. The snow is a cheap, lazy texture/masking and because of that its trash.

 

If they're gonna be lazy about it at least give us the option to not deal with it if we don't want to, that's really just what most of us want.

That may all be true but the effect of creating a wintry, chilly feel is perfectly adequate in my opinion, and it really is for just a few days each year.

If R* continue to try and out-do themselves with each new heist update, and add another new island, I hope they do a snowy island to the north and give us better snow physics.  They could call it North Yankton, perhaps.  ^^

 

Never going to happen, but it would be nice.  

 

I personally really enjoy the snow each year.  It reminds me to break my normal routine and just have fun in-game.  Don't bother with anything serious, just relax and mess around for a bit.

Imagine if they added a map with a mountain higher than Mt. Chiliad. So high that it snows on top.

Finish North Yankton, put a Heist or two up there and let us free roam there once the Heist is done like the Cayo Perico party but the entire map. Even better if we could buy an apartment up there so we can spawn on that map.

today is the last day if it is like last year and festive stuff....but that even used to run to the 5th.

 

was better having 5 or so days of snow christmas time and then a few more around new years with a gap in between. i mean they had it like this before for years. why change it?

I dont like the snow at all. What is it that I dont like about it? Well, I think there should be at least some kind of snow tyres. But since I'm usually flying around the map its another thing that bothers me a lot: It is just always dark. Always and at any time. Other than that I also like the way it looks, even though they could have made it a bit more "realistic". Like its literally just everything covered in white..

I think it all depends on how the Thursdays fall. For example this year there would be no point in a break because it would be back on the next day for New Years, so it will either go for good today or last until next Thursday, or whenever else they pull it before that. Gotta remember that no one got a Christmas or New Years last year. Well, those who followed the rules didn't lol, so they can and should treat as many of their staff as possible to a well earned break.

 

I liked the April Fools one day of it they did, that should stay. Halloween would be good too, along with maybe a random freak event at the height of summer.

Bit of a shame to see the snow gone.  This time of the year is always very busy, so not much time to play games.  New Years is always more relaxed for me, with more time for stuff like this.  But I still managed to get online a bit and save some clips to my R* Editor to play with over the coming weeks.  

 

 

 

The nice thing about the snow is not having to deal with rainy weather every 5 minutes in game.  lol  Say what you will about the snow, but it's still better than the insane amounts of rain we get.

The bloody Neon is a pig to handle in the Snow I ended up trying to rescue someone on stranded in the sticks in my CEO braked to turn a corner on that twisty road near to Stab City the back end went I also had lag on remote play so the car had veered so I corrected was playing with a Controller to anyway back stepped out I corrected car veered over the rocks into water second car I put into the water to after my Emerus trying to do a Top Speed challenge in the Storm Drain my fastest speed was 136mph the fastest was 154MPH I braked to try and turn at the end of the Drain car kept going into the drink. Oh well at least I can now fly properly. Flying wasn't an issue for me well my plane a Dodo was smoking cus It is pig to take off I did a bit of instrument landing but dipped low did a zigzag so I Could land in the Docks/Drain not far from the Davis Warehouse.

Snow justified my expensive designer coat purchases. Dressing up for winter is fun. Looks weird without winter wearing a puff coat among palm trees. I was hoping for more snow days so I can try more outfits. Also I couldn't make up my mind what new off road friendly vehicle to by just to have fun in the snow.
