The snow makes me even more sad about what they did to the tuner cars They would be so much fun to slide around in, if they still handled like they did a week ago

I realized I hadn't bought any cars from the tuner update or this one, so everything I'm using in the snow this year I also used last year

always hated this "snow", nothing but a vertex normal lq texture applied over objects, painful to look at, and yet people say it is beautiful...
I swear, the man did a better snow in a few minutes within Unity with Shader Graph than billionaire company with most profitable video game ever made for 8 years of service:

Rockstar lazily released this event, no build up or any hype at all. However, things changed for me December 23rd when it released and the amazing lobbies I ran into that day. People were nice and not causing chaos in Los Santos. Not a big fan of the login gift (which is usually today) being awarded on the 23rd . Slightly bummed about the other car that is supposed to be released for the 2nd Festive Livery unlock .... since Christmas is essentially over now. No point in showing that off when It eventually gets here, won't even be Christmas lol. 

The new content is decent, but not really the best in my opinion, still enjoyed everything for the most part. Now it's all about the snow , love not being able to see when flying!!

The snow causes weird load on distance problems, the trees look white in distance, then when you get closer to them there are darker textures. In general the popups are much worse with snow for me.

 

Sure it's nice having snow for a few days a year, but it really creates weird visual bugs. It also creates weird godray bugs.

The whole snow thing is a bit of a weird "hack", I kind of hope there's some improvements here and there to it in E&E. It looks good but it also has its issues.

The biggest challenge I had with snow so far is landing on my Submarine at night. Can't see sh#!t.

It almost feels like the Comet Safari drives better in the snow, at least cornering feels more satisfying. The same cant be said for the Baller that you need to drive up the slope for the UD prep, at least its doable with a bit of weaving.

Was running the Los Santos Connection yesterday, everything was going fine until the smuggler escaped in his plane. It was like midnight and I let him get a bit of distance before going after him until I realized I couldn't f*ckin see his plane at all, kept up the chase anyway just watching my radar and suddenly slammed into the ocean and his buzzard pal killed me. Mission failed. I was like, "Well sh*t, that just happened." I wasn't even mad.

 

(I know you can kill his plane before he takes off, that's not how I ever do the mission though)

so snow will be gone on thursday? like they did last year? should be until the 5th or at least to the 2nd like it has been previous years....with a gap between 27th and 30th. why change it?

I learned the hard way last night NOT to try and climb Mt Chilliad in the snow with a Baller. It was like one of those Hollywood movies car rolling down a cliff while doors and hoods are flying off kinda thing

I'm enjoying the snow, somehow feels less slippery than last time. I remember I didn't enjoy it much, but now it seems like it's easier to drive on it. Anyone else notices this?

Yeah they've massively upped the grip. It's a shame in a way because it used to be nice bringing out appropriate vehicles once a year for some fun. Somehow feels a bit pointless if you can drive anything on it now. Being slippy used to make it feel like snow, rather than white mud. Now it's just a cosmetic painting of the landscape.

 

I suppose they had to given the nature of the DLC but I'm still disappointed.

Don't understand how people love it, don't you all miss offroading and being able to fly at night? You can't even tell the sky from the ocean! I couldn't tell if I was flying my jet straight up or tilted

The snow is ok for me but I hate the fog, snow does not automatically mean bad sight conditions.

I hope E&E gets a toggle to turn snow on or off when R* decides to drop it on LS. 
 

I'll make sure I have it toggled off.

Yep..I think that would be perfect. Even if I don't have a problem with snow in general, I'd like to be able to turn it off sometimes. This can be done, but obviously a workaround is needed:

Doubt that'll happen as it would put players at an advantage/disadvantage due to handling and distance fog conditions. That said, if that did exist, maybe there could be Snow On/Snow Off lobbies and matchmaking.
