I love the snow. I've only been playing since the PC release so I've only experienced it once but it was great.

Last night the bartender in my clubhouse said "How's the weather outside? It could be snowing for all I know..." And I kinda freaked out. No snow though/

Whole LS covered in snow is unbelievable and I never can't believe that they actually have made it. It just sounds a huge job to be used only for so short period of time, that I personally would see something like map extension to be more likely than snow update if someone would now suggest it and we haven't had snow before.

 

It's also very well done, and not just a bit snow here and there, but everything like, textures lighting and physics are so well done and thought, that it feels like the game was designed to be set in winter.

 

Only thing that bothers me in it are the snow textures that your car gets after driving for a while. Instead of that realistic look of dusty snow that gathers into back of your car, your car looks like it's been shot by snowballs.

nice pics! i love the scenery of the river where you escape pac standard, just wish the deer were online would make it look even more cool them by the river too, and i ALWAYS forget about the lit up christmas tree in middle of town, always stumble on it and like shweeettt! i got a selfie in front of it last year with just an hour left of snow lol, made me miss it before it was even gone lol gotta look up some pics of mine and put it on the first page.. Snow for a couple of days at the end of the year just isn't enough.

Honestly, I have the most fun in GTA:O when there's snow.

 

It's a lot of sliding around but (and I've only experienced it on the PS3 so far) it's always been fun and for some reason it worked better than driving in the rain for me.

Really wish we could have snow regularly! I know it wouldn't make sense to have it during any time other than winter, but it sure would be nice to have anyway. Maybe in a specific type of session or something. Or AT LEAST as a setting for jobs, contact missions and such.

I'm not a fan of Minnesnowta in GTA Online, simply because I can't stand snow even IRL. lol

 

I endure it until the roads are nice and clear, and traction once again gets a grip on things.

 

Someday, the surprise addition of a snowmobile and sled (and crate drops, armored vans) will make it more survivable.

 

I'm rather surprised that shallow pools of water in GTA Online aren't temporarily switched to ice; e.g. North Yankton's frozen streams you can walk on.

 

There was a graphical bug last year (PC only) that I actually didn't mind too much, because it kept snow from visibly collecting on the ground:

 

 

 

 

This was an issue with anyone who used frame scaling.

Whether you scaled up or down, if you weren't at the default level the snow wouldn't show up.

 

I have to scale down during winter, but it's worth it to enjoy the snow.

As a northerner that now resides in the south, having the snow to play with on GTAO is a nice alternative for not being able to actually do so since it never snows in Atlanta.

I love the snow. It's not around long, but that's also what makes it feel more special when it is around. I look forward to sliding all of my cars around and taking pictures in the snow again this Christmas...

Really wish they'd give us more time with the snow, so few days and most of them I'm with my family rather than playing games, they should at least run it from Christmas eve to new years day without getting rid of it between holidays, give players some time to enjoy it, and to torment the people that have an irrational inability to get over themselves and deal with it for a little while or loosen up and enjoy it.

Figured I'd share a couple shots from last year.

 

First up, my Tampa, which I had bought minutes before the picture was taken and I took it straight to an in-game meet on Xbone!

 

Secondly is my Blista Compact. I took this picture last year, but I also took a picture of the car the year before as well. Both times were in the exact same place, with the same snow, the only difference were the colours/mods and which year they were taken! I have a feeling I should do the same this year. Replicate it again, and at some point I'll compare them all... only problem is I don't have the original picture I took in 2014, just one I took on my phone!

I for one love spawning out in the middle of nowhere when it's snowing....it's quiet and so peaceful.

I'd love to have the snow in-game for more than those odd 3 days or however long it is. It seems like such a waste to make all those textures, have things actually quiet down, make the whole snowball mechanic, make cars behave differently from dry/rainy conditions and have the amazing weather setting at night when it's only going to be used for 2days a year.

 

I'd be totally down for sessions randomly being snowy or something... or at least make it snow starting from whenever it starts near christmas and until it ends at roughly new year's.

Dude you're telling me they shut down the entire city for some ICE! Lmao all I could think of is how I use to have to shovel my driveway and wait for the trucks to plow the road so we could go to school back in NY. They have like one snow plow in Atlanta -___-

I generally drive cars that are slidey and spin out in the snow like muscle and sports classic, I embrace the spin outs - it's part of the fun. This year however I am intrigued to see how the Omnis and Tropos handle snow.
