The Snow Topic.

Luckily I got into a lobby last night no matter how long I was away never got kicked, even went to bed last night got on and was still in lobby, and still am right now! So won't shut it off til I go to work at 130, yay a lil more exploring!!

I missed the last snow day yesterday due to other commitments (EDIT: Actually, I felt like sh*t so I didn't boot up the XBOX at all)

 

I got some decent footage though this year. I was really happy that I could play my Survival in the snow

I was happy that we had it for almost a full week (from the 21st through the 26th) but was a bit disappointed that it didn't show back up again until New Year's. Part of me was silently hoping that Rockstar would have just left it on from the 21st to the 1st. I just don't understand why they are so adamant about only letting the snow fall during a short amount of time. I mean, I know Los Santos is a fictional representation of Los Angeles, but having it randomly appear during the actual winter months (or maybe just weekends throughout December) would be nice.

I feel like the snow would be nicer during the festival if Rockstar put christmas lights on some of the buildings as well. We have the big tree downtown, but how about some random lights on houses or businesses (like the convenient stores). Imagine some of the trailers in Sandy Shores with christmas lights

I was hoping that snow will last until this Thursday, which is why I'm disappointed that it's gone. 

 

Of course it was great that they kept the snow this long, but next time they should keep it without interruptions from let's say 21st of December until 2nd or 3rd of January.

I'm glad that caked-on ivory soap bullsh*t got nuked. Visibility is back to normal, and I can drive around without the increased risk of sliding off a goddamn cliff side.

I say hang up some more Christmas decor (lights, wreaths, a huge tree at the park downtown, etc.) and leave the potato flakes off the roads of SoCal for next year. I honestly can't believe how many of you people gush over this winter weather garbo. Way overrated, in my opinion.

I'd enjoy the snow if it was something they didn't slap on in five f*cking minutes by way of a simple retexture. Give us Yankton snow...

I know I'm going to get reamed for going against the grain, but I don't care. It's crap. It was always crap, let alone the fact that it doesn't make any sense. I will say they really did it right with RDO, though.

I'm willing to compromise for the people that love it so much-- just keep it off the main damn roads at least. Aside from that, I'm all for a festive makeover of sorts... just not when it turns driving into such a chore. Even a lot of the off-road vehicles had issues working through it.

I can't hate you for having your own opinion but the "it doesn't make sense" argument's kinda weak. It doesn't rain in Los Angeles at 11:30 AM every day, either. But that still happens in GTA.

It is weak, especially with the plethora of sci-fi nonsense they've shoehorned into the universe, but I would counter with the fact that at least the rain, while indeed excessive in-game, wouldn't ruin the immersion for most people since it happens a hell of a lot more often than snow could ever hope to in SoCal, let alone the type that sticks to asphalt.

It makes for a bit of a change though. This isn't aimed at you, but I don't understand why some players get so upset about not being able to do their business deliveries because of the snow. Come on people, it isn't a real job. Just do something else.

 

Incidentally, you want to try living in the UK when it snows. It's hilarious. Even a few specks of the white stuff initiates a kind of nationwide, apocalyptic, mass hysteria. The tabloid media really lay it on and all of a sudden at the first hint of snow there is panic buying, closed down schools and businesses and absolute carnage on the roads. It's unbelievable.

Same here. It's pathetic. And then you see other parts of the world, like Canada, or Scandinavia or Siberia handling REAL snow like a boss.

As a person who have lived in Russia and Quebec and I find it ridiculous as hell. In UK it looks like snow is not constant part of the equation, same with a lot of places in France (surprisingly, Paris and Île-de-France) and that's the reason people from Canada constantly laughing at French when those complain about snow. That's snow here (and some nice song).
