Legomanarthur
Very interesting news, won't be updating it right now as I still want to use SNT and a few other mods. Also will multiplayer be playable again? I mean does launching the game in online mode from RGSC's launcher finally work?

It should all work no problem, you can even just delete paul.dll for the sake of not needing to hit another button, as lomg as your cSocial Club is linked to GFWL you're all great. Should of bloody been this way since the start
Claude_Lib
Multiplayer does work, me and theNGclan tested it today. I didn't even need to install anything myself. Actually, the only problem before was that the game was shipped with an outdated GfWL client which needed to be updated manually, after which it did work. Still, that doesn't change the fact that GfWL sucks.

Jasewolf
Btw, talking about benchmarks and hardware ^ yesterday I noticed that a gtx 1080 has the full 8GB VRAM seen by GTA IV in the settings, yet with the RX 480, same with the R9 280X (MSI 6G), it only recognises 3 GB. Is this saying that AMD is all dual card going above 4gb? My benchmark was pretty spot on to 60 except some to 58fps dips, and go to 1.0.7.0 to benchmark, dips to the 40s, average 55, and then results, GTA IV has stopped working. Almost chocked on thin air from that lmao Edited December 1, 2016 by Jasewolf

Laqueesha
Performance is very much improved for me; I'm getting 56 FPS in the middle of Star Junction, 60 FPS elsewhere. Incredible! I can actually play the game and have fun now. Edited December 1, 2016 by Laqueesha Official General and UltraGizmo64
B Dawg
Is anyone else having problems signing into GFWL? Everything was fine yesterday, today I can't login as if GFWL is unavailable or something. Edit: f*ck it, time to validate game files. Edit 2: No invalid files, all good. Even after I close the game, it still seems to be running on Steam and shown as running in the Task Manager. Error trying to sign in: The Profile could not be signed into LIVE. There may be a network problem or the Windows Live ID service may not be available. Edit 3: PC restart fixed it Edit 4: Could potentially clicking Link Gamertag but not actually doing it/finishing it be the reason for the problems above? Nico
Dunno if I should update or not (I own a retail copy) because I don't want to mess up my modded game with added cars and stuff. As far as I remember, that problem in Out of Comission never happened to me in 1.0.7.0. Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky?

T-ru
Another "Nothing + some new bug/bugs" patch for GTA IV from R*. They just need to rewrite the stupid, annoying, compiled shaders (if they were not compiled the game would be fixed visually already from the moders) + some binary (dll) files, this is one day work for 5-10 people! The good thing is that there is still some attention to this game from R*! 86DX
Jasewolf
Want to play mods on multiplayer, use the new paul.dll with patch 7, you can get in mp no issue Then you can just delete it and still get online and still not need to keep pressing play when launching Edited December 1, 2016 by Jasewolf
DEALUX
What are your frame rate results when settings are maxed out? I get drops to 22-24 FPS (with triple buffered v-sync, but that shouldn't matter) on one of the bridges when there's lots of traffic but it isn't caused by the overwhelming amount of cars on screen entirely. Some areas are just more taxing on your resources for some reason. Jasewolf
When I updated my mods still worked, which were Vice City Rage, SNT, and Skateboarding mod. Well if you installed it the way you should of, in a copied GTA IV folder, then it will still be on the patch 7, unless you named the folder the original install. B Dawg
So I play a mission in singleplayer, go to Multiplayer, find a free mode game with 3 people, and after 2-3 minutes it disconnects me from Windows Live. Wtf? Now it keeps doing so every time I connect back. FFS game.
Igor Bogdanoff
I also thought about one thing. Not many people knew about the linking SC with GFWL. Maybe this patch is trying to force as many ppl as possible to link their accounts to migrate their stats to SC for future complete ditching GFWL. Claude_Lib
I surely hope so. GfWL is obvious crap, and there's no doubt about it, and I'd like to think that Rockstar realizes it. In fact, in hopes that maybe they'll release more patches, I'm gonna report some bugs and wait for their reply.
