GTA IV Patch 1.0.8.0/EfLC Patch 1.1.3.0

Woop. Got the game working now. Removed the ASI Log and Dsound and it suddenly started working (did that about 1 million times before).

All in all, there really isn't THAT much of a difference. At first I thought I had some more FPS, was maintaining about 62 (it usually IS around 50, but knowing Rockstar, it's usually all over the place anyway), but I got in a car, drove around, yeah, same old massive amount of FPS loss in key areas. I do think it has become a little more stable, here and there, but maybe it's just the heat of the moment telling me something has changed when it really, really hasn't, lol. Let's just hope R* will take these patches further, like I said, this game still has some luck and Rockstar releasing a patch after years on end just about proves that.

Now I need to get my trainer working, I never used xliveless before, always stuck to ASI loader.

It does seem a little more stable. Was not getting anywhere near this fps before.

if R* at least fixed the goddamn z fighting. But they are getting there. Maybe this was part of preparation for some new ports.

Monkeypolice188, I doubt we should expect big performance changes in future, because if 7 patches ( oh, now 8 patches ! ) failed to improve performance, then I simply don't believe in magic with next patches, if they will be.

Suppose so, but the fact they seemingly "gave up" years ago and have now returned kinda tells me they're giving it another go, maybe this time with more hope than last time. But hey ho, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves.

Anyone know how I can get mods to work with xliveless? Some mods I used (traffic variety I think, and several versions of trainers) require dsound, but any time I try inserting that into the files with xlive.dll now, the game fails to load. I'm running the game without dsound, but can't use mods, trainer, etc.

Yeah, it does, I'll admit, but it's still unpredictable, (well, not unpredictable, we've coped with this for far too long now haha), I am getting more FPS in areas where I didn't.

Just encountered a weird bug. Jacked the Helitours Maverick, got high up in the sky and started looking around and then got some mad flickering. The closest thing I can think of is when San Andreas was getting that annoying Stream Memory bug. Will try and record a clip.

Black w/ white patchy things around the sides of the screen when looking around? I get that too, same scenario.

not entirely, sadly

Seems that they reduced texture pop-in by fixing the issue where textures load based on the direction you're facing. Now, the 3D space loads textures regardless of player camera direction. This in turn reduces texture loss and improves FPS by reducing the constant load of textures.

Well guys, in general, I happy with your reports about new patch. But it will be really great if R* release one more patch to fix at least remaining visual issues ))

Guys is the GTA IV Complete Edition on steam one whole game or is it just EFLC and IV separately, like i don't know how is it bundled? I have the retail disk version which doesn't work anymore (the disk) so thinking off grabbing the games off steam.

If my memory serves me right, Complete Edition is two separate games ( IV and EFLC), but with combined launcher.

I'm not sure if it's 100% an unedited version of the

or if is edited a little, but I'm in the same scenario, and the steam launcher doesn't require the disk to be inserted, so therefore you aren't needing to use a crack, which means no bloody annoying music and ability to use multiplayer and everything. Just type in gta iv steam launcher. This sill requires you to have a legit game and activate, so it's not at all anything any use to pirates. This still works perfect with Patch 8

It's great to see a new patch of the good old GTA IV !

But i think they could easily have fixed some more bugs (AMD Water Bug - "waterTex.fxc") and opimize the game a little more.

I mean they are earning millions and millions of dollars, so the games really should be perfectly optimized and patched.

Look at this graphical-bugfix-mod: They should have fixed these issues with the patch.

http://gtaforums.com/topic/569019-betaiveflc-graphical-bug-fixes/

And stop talking about mods. Scripthook needs to be updated, thats all. And mods often destroy the atmosphere and performance.

One question guys.

Does this patch stop the mods from working ? I wanna play IV on PC with mods soon for the first time.

Well it seems ASI Loader doesn't even work anymore, as I ran with dsound.dll and ASI log in the files as I always have, and that prevented the game from loading after all this. I've switched to xliveless and that allows the game to load and run, but being the first time I've used xliveless, I'm unsure why my trainer (and all my other mods) no longer run. If someone could help with that, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well i didn't know about that, but i don't have IV installed anymore so that just kinda defeats the purpose (the first disk doesn't even read) and i didn't even try looking for a workaround cause i thought the MP was dead! I played IV MP like back in 2013 i think once there were like 3 or 4 guys in the game, here's a funny story I had actually bought GTA IV back when it came out (i didn't really buy it, made my dad buy it for me) and i didn't even have a pc that could run it, so i just kept it until i got a pc that could run it.

So i think my best bet is getting the Complete Edition although i'm still not sure if it's two games separately or one combined.

Mr. Leisurewear

I'm glad i can play my beloved GTA 4 again on WIN10.

One more patch rockstar for removing the damned GFWL and that watertex bug , RX 480 here and still not fixed, oh well.

It comes to mind why they are putting time in IV again , perhaps a remaster is coming up ?

Patch 9: Removes GfWL from IV/EFLC Completely.

Patch 10: Completely redoes the underlying Game Engine, making the Game 100% more Optimised.

One can dream. :santa:

I feel that performance is ever so slightly better, but for some reason I'm getting light flickering and it started a new game instead of taking me to my save...

Oh, and they broke my trainer. Not liking this so far.

@PhillBellic

Keep on dreaming mate , one day it will become real :p

Also fun fact is that Rage resource manager for Pc version was completely rewritten and thus they f*cked up a couple things lmao , thats why back in the day (actually more like right now a bit also) gta 4 was a sh*tty port on PC.

Can anyone confirm if all ASI's are broken, or if it's just SNT?

I'd like to know this as well.

As I've read, seems not only ScriptHook no longer works, but ASI Loader is no longer usable too, so NO ANY SCRIPT mods for now (unless you roll back via installing previous patch over the new one). But seems someone else need to update ScriptHook and ASILoader since their's original authors hasn't been active on forums here for least 1-2 years (I publish their last activity dates from their profiles):

aru (ScriptHook IV author) - NOT active since October 19th, 2015

HazardX (ScriptHook IV .NET author) - NOT active since August 25th, 2014

This is a big concern. Does anyone know of anyone who's likely to pick this up (and capable - I'm afraid it's beyond me)?
