btw is there any performance improvement after patch 1.0.8.0?

To me this patch is nothing but an inconvenience...

So no, to very little at most.

To those that the old texture loading method caused issues for and the new method has helped, and to those that vsync now working correctly has helped give a better fps depending on the refresh rate, this update is big.

But then just as much as it's great, there's always some negative effects from it for some.

If you want a fun and stable time in multiplayer then this is a no brainer, but if mods are for you, then don't bother, just have the new paul.dll.

Guys, before update i used to play on 1.0.4.0 and i had 60 stable fps, but after steam updated my game i have around 50 with drops to 30. Unplayable sh*t.

memrestrict improved perfomance a little bit but still i have drops to 40 while my GPU/CPU load above 40%.

My specs below

What does the new paul.dll. do if you don't mind telling ? I want to keep my mods, but if this helps with the framerate, then I will use that only.

So i got in my hands old Ati gpu (HD5770), which had for sure the water bug (aka the water is detail less). And now either because of newer drivers or Windows 10 or new 1.0.8.0 patch the water is working correctly. Can someone who had this bug confirm this?

The new paul.dll is basically the new Social Club launcher without the stupid logins.

Weird, after the new patch I got improved performance, all three now run above 60fps with ease.

Is there no way to get the better framerates and keep the mods by updating to this latest patch ??

@ B Dawg thanks for helpful info once again brother :^:

Try only keeping the old .exe files/exe config file, maybe even launcher, probably.

Has this been proven to work ? Because if so I will do that, I'm just about to do another reinstall.

You don't have to do a reinstall. If you're currently on 1.0.7.0, download 1.0.8.0 and use 7Zip to open it up like an archive and just extract the contents of 'common' and 'pc' folders

http://updates.rockstargames.com/patches/gtaiv/GTA_IV_EFIGS_PATCH_8.exe

Or if you're 1.0.8.0, download 1.0.7.0 and use 7ZIP to extract the .exe files and launchers:

Ah f*ck it, none of all that file-exchanging stuff worked for me, going back to patch 7 for the mods.

That could never work because all the code changes are within the .exe file ;)

The game actually loads slower for me on 1.0.8.0, I've noticed. For me, now it loads as quick as the Xbox 360 edition.

I still need to use -nomemrestrict and -norestrictions but it's causing fps drops. I can run V on very high just fine.

Also, textures load slowly and flicker.

did you install the patches first? you can't just replace files if your game isn't uptodate.

My game version is 1.0.8.0, I just made a backup file of my 1.0.7.0 game in case I could use its files, but like I said it gives me this error whenever I replace GTAIV.exe +.cat/.cdf/.cfg and GTAIVGDF.dll.

So i got in my hands old Ati gpu (HD5770), which had for sure the water bug (aka the water is detail less). And now either because of newer drivers or Windows 10 or new 1.0.8.0 patch the water is working correctly. Can someone who had this bug confirm this?

I still had the water bug with my HD7870 @ windows 10 with latest drivers and updates. It's a shame that they didn't fix it. Really poor what R* is doing there.

And in my opinion GTA vanilla graphics/timecycles always give the best atmosphere, both in GTA IV and V.

Use the "Darker Road Texture Pack" and install this userpatch

http://gtaforums.com/topic/569019-betaiveflc-graphical-bug-fixes/

And for AMD graphic card users install the waterfix

http://ge.tt/3Uc7Ftl/v/0

Bisonsales Summer Vegetation Textures also make the game look better.
